Right, so I can't start this thread using anything like..."Here we go ladies!"

So, will have to come up with something completely different....

How about Congratulations Kay!

just found this:
"Being overweight should not prevent conception, but may lead to increased tiredness and back problems during pregnancy. If you are slightly overweight, try to lose a little weight. This does not necessarily mean eating less, just eating more healthily by cutting down on foods high in fat and sugar and exercising regularly. If you are very overweight, you could see your GP for a referral to a dietician for help to lose weight before you become pregnant." i am obv not slightly but um well between quite and very i spose... arg ignore me im obsessed

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 14:33

thanks Diege, i mean ive always been plump but between falling last time and this ive prob gained about 4 stone.... i am trying to loose weight tho, and would say my arms arnt fat or anything, the weight is carried on my middle... i really dont wanna go to docs if i can help it tho this whole thing is getting me down x

Diege · 11/04/2008 14:23

Well, on the BMI calculator you are technically overweight, but while I think this won't help with ttc (sorry to sound harsh) I would also say it's not in itself going to CAUSE problems. I do think the weight thing and if/how it effects cycles depends v.much on how individuals metabolise their weight, so what appears on paper as problematic for one person, might not be at all for another. Maybe have a chat with GP/nice health visitor/nurse? My gut feeling though is that it's more your hormones adjusting than anything else.

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 14:12

lol diege! thats what i thought, just wish i knew why i ahve not had a AF arg its so annoying!! FWIW does anyone think it is todo with my weight, Im 5"9 and 17st but also quite broad? x

Diege · 11/04/2008 14:10

liver like clots..

Diege · 11/04/2008 14:10

BB, just to put your mind at rest over af with clots. This is just to do with the length of your cycle; longer cycles = af with clots. I had this after a 35 day cycle and was sure it must a miscarriage (licer-like clots) but GP said it was just length of cycle. You would also get a faint BFP even if you had miscarried I think.

kayzisexpecting · 11/04/2008 14:07

Could you go to the doctor and see what they say?

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 14:03

i would love that to be true kays, but last time HPT showed? im so confused x

kayzisexpecting · 11/04/2008 14:01

Oh and I have been feeling quite sick and headachy too BB. So maybe the HPTs just aren't working.

kayzisexpecting · 11/04/2008 14:00

Sorry I can offer no help BB, I wish I could. I really hope af comes back soon.

Just been to the shop as dh forgot loads of stuff. I ignored so called friend and now he is in a mood with me. I nearly said some choice words.

Went to see ds's godfather and ds came back with a bag of giant chocolate buttons. He is now covered in chocolate. He even tried to put one in his ear!!!

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 13:38

No it was a T something or other, non hormonal one, which according to lady shouldnt interfere with periods.... which is worrying, also worrying is that like you said i wont get tests for at least twelve months!!

Im just being an obsessive worrier as usual lol but will read the link at home thanks cals,

my AF i did have was very heavy and clotty? and the one before that was a longer cycle too? also clotty etc, i just wondered if coil was letting me get pg then causing a MC, wondered if that was how it worked?

other thing is have been feeling quite sick at odd times, and headachy.... arg x

Diege · 11/04/2008 13:31

BB, is it the mirena coil you had removed?
Agree, with Cals, don't think you can ovulate and then not have a period (unless pregnant of course!). You can however have light blleds with no ov (annovulatory cycles) where an egg isn't released but womb lining still breaks down slightly hence the bleed.
Don;t worry BB, between the lot of us we'll put your mind at rest!

calsworld · 11/04/2008 13:27

BB, if you were OVing then you'd have an AF surely? I've not heard of one without the other?

Have you done a google for periods post AF?

I found this one..here which i thought was interesting and many others which I thought perhaps you could read? If nothing it might just be reassuring to know there's loads of people that have the same question as you..

The initial search i ran was on 'periods after coil removal' but you could change 'coil' to 'iud' as there are varying pages depending on the search string.

HTH?

HPT should be winging there way over. That should initiate AF!

Hmm, yes OPKs could be one way to go, although they don't work for everyone. If you're really concerned - and I would give it a while yet - you could request a blood test that (I think) measured the prescence of luteinising (sp?) hormone that you get after ov?? I think these sorts of investigations are really only suggested after 12 months of problems.. Will have an ask around as I work with some medics, and I'll also ask my sister who is a midwife

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 13:17

do you think i should get OPKs to see if i am Ov'ing? x

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 13:12

Diege i have already, no ones got much info, i was wondering if there were many medical ppl on here i could ask? i mean i spose it cld be my weight but ive not rocketed up lately so im doubtful.... arg the stresses sof TTC eh? x

Diege · 11/04/2008 13:08

BB, I think it does take a while for af to get back to normal after coil removal, so I'm sure there's no serious problem there . It might be worth while starting a thread to hear what other people's experiences post-coil have been like?

calsworld · 11/04/2008 13:07

BB, I don't think there's much you can do other than as you are, just wait it out for AF, with maybe the odd test thrown in for good measure (and to keep NJ happy!!)

Only got a short lunch break, dashing off to order some HPT's!! (Tease? Me? )

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 12:55

we are GOF-ing and not using protection so technically yes but not religiously cos ive been away and we've both been tired....i have tested 3 times, all BFN AF has been a bit unpredictable lately, and coil remover lady said it might be to do with my weight, altho i hads some spotting back on 30 march?? so dont think it will be my weight, i think if it were looking to be a serious prob the lady would of said, you'l have probs IYSWIM??

Dont know what to do for the best x

Diege · 11/04/2008 12:51

BB!!! Just a case of waiting it out then with a few tests along the way? Are you actively ttc now, or waiting til af to start?

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 12:50

you've all dissappeared... typical!!! ho hum ill be on later or tomo xx

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 12:20

am on like CD 60 or something, AF well and truly AWOL lol, kays ure MIL sounds a total be-hatch!!

Diege · 11/04/2008 12:14

Oh Kay I despair with your MIL. Honestly, you are so right that there is no perfect time to have a baby, and tbh how the hell is it her business whether you choose to have no los, or 10??? Really can't understand people's negative reactions to pregnancy, amke me mad . Jusat remember that you have the most precious thing going on inside you, and no-one can take that away from you .
Teuch, yes you're right, my putting off ttc is more just in case I need treatment. They would usually delay any treatment if needed until after the baby is born, and then I would worry that things were getting scary etc. They are also funny about doing smears in pregnancy anyway in my Trust (though they do them during pregnancy in US rountinely I think?). My concern too is that it will take weeks to get the result, and can't really afford to go private!
BB, how many days late are you now? Maybe weait 48 hours and test again?

kayzisexpecting · 11/04/2008 12:05

I hate people. I am never going out in rl again!

Someone we thought was our 'friend' who is treated more like a son by my MIL than my dh is has just had a go at dh because we cant afford a baby and we have upset the MIL. Fecking idiot!!

I am so annoyed and upset. How about how MIL has upset us?
