Currently TTC number 2 and struggling after getting pregnant fairly easily with number 1 (on cycle 3)!
Thought I'd start a thread so we can all support each other. Anyone else on their TTC journey for number 2? I am currently on cycle 7 and have ruled myself out already as negative pregnancy test at 10DPO. Each month I convince myself that I am pregnant! Experienced a chemical at cycle 3 😩

I do it under my tongue 😊

Thank you! That sounds easy enough ☺️

I might try it next month if we are successful this time round.

Silly question but how do you actually take your temp? Like where does the thermometer have to go to get the most accurate reading? I can’t work it out looking at them, is it internal or under your arm pit?

Thanks @NattyPeer for your reassurance. I got a much clearer clear blue this morning so feeling a bit better but positive tests after miscarriage aren’t easy are they…. Very anxious.

How are you doing hun? Xx

@NattyPeer ohhhh that sounds really good - keeping everything crossed for you. When was your period due?
Yeah I got one at about 8 weeks, definitely couldn't wait til the NHS one - when are you thinking of having one?xx

Thank you! It was due on 26th November but because I got my first faint positive on 21st November it seems like time is going very slowly haha! I was thinking of trying to get one on 15th Dec as would like one before Christmas. The weeks calculation confuses me a lot 😂

How's it going @NattyPeer?xx

Hey hun! I still get the occasional brown spotting but I did a clearblue the other day and it was 3 plus so that felt nice although it probably doesn’t mean anything.

I did mention it to the doctor when I was 15dpo but she just said got to wait and see what happens so they weren’t really bothered. I think I will get an early scan privately as I know the NHS won’t offer one. Did you get an early scan?

I use natural cycles but you have to pay monthly for it! I’m sure there are free ones though. Maybe someone in this group has some ideas too 😊

i just leave it by my bed and take it near enough the same time each morning before getting up and before talking haha.

No I’m not actually, not quite got my head around how to do it. I know that once you see the rise ovulation has occurred but don’t actually know how to test. I’m up at the same time of day every morning with my daughter so maybe it’s something that would work for me next month. Do you have any recommendations?

I find the BBT really helpful for confirming ovulation 😊 are you doing this, I can’t remember. X

@Blue2020 thank you for your help 🥰 he’s just packed himself away off to work and is really not well so I doubt we’ll be doing it tonight so just have to hope there’s some strong swimmers in there ready for the egg. At least I feel more confident with the OPKs for next month and know when to test. I’ve ordered some more and also got a progesterone test just to confirm ovulation occurred.

@SarahB88 you will have covered your fertile window then anyway. Good luck. Yes I did it twice a day, some months my peak showed up later in the day but some it was there by the morning.

SarahB88 · 03/12/2024 09:38

@Blue2020 I had been testing in the evening per the premom guidance but I’ve been doing a few tests with second urine of the day and they are much stronger so next month if I’m not pregnant I’ll test in the morning. My test was ever so slightly lower this morning so I think I might have missed my peak on the tests, no worried about it though as yesterday was actually the only day we’ve not had sex since my period finished so we should be covered. Will do it again tonight just in case there is a egg hanging around.

How is everyone else getting on?

Blue2020 · 02/12/2024 22:31

@SarahB88 ah ok so hopefully it keeps increasing for a peak. Good luck and hopefully you will ovulate soon.

SarahB88 · 02/12/2024 11:20

@Blue2020 I’ve just done a test now and it’s giving me 0.58 which is by far my highest result, tbf premom predicted my ovulation to be on Dec 3rd so I guess it might be right! I think I’m just impatient because I’m sure I ovulated really early on when I fell pregnant with my daughter.

Blue2020 · 02/12/2024 03:23

@SarahB88 I used them but managed to find a peak. I would take them twice a day at around (8-10am) and (4-7pm). Varied but just morning and evening to make sure I was covering twice a day. I got a sharp rise from very low to peak rather than it being gradual and then ovulation would occur the next day.

I am fairly regular in cycles but one cycle instead of ovulating on day 18 (for a 31 day cycle) I kept testing and it ended up on day 24.

I used temping too to confirm ovulation. If you get a good nights sleep (well at least 3-4hrs before waking up in the morning) then you could try that as an option? It’s only to confirm ovulation occured though than using it to time DTD. By the time the temp rises ovulation had occured.

SarahB88 · 02/12/2024 00:10

Has anyone used Premom OPKs and struggled to find your peak? I’ve had egg white mucous and a high sex drive which I think is prob a good indicator for me that I have or am about to ovulate but still getting low results on the tests. I never used them with trying for our first but I thought I’d give them a go this time to make sure everything was back to normal. I’ve also been having the worst restless legs for the past few nights, hence being awake now and I’ve read that is linked to hormones and perhaps ovulation occurring. I had horrific restless legs in early pregnancy with my daughter, obviously not pregnant at the moment.

I’ve tried taking the OPKs at a few different times during 10am-8pm and it’s all pretty much the same. I have a 26 day cycle and assumed I must ovulate early based on having my daughter so started testing when my period ended but nothing so far, now day 12 of my cycle.

SkaterChick · 01/12/2024 13:38

No period, negative test.
But I checked and my cervix is low so expecting af immanently

That could be actually! I think anything is possible to be honest! That’s sounds right if that was your peak, the waiting is the longest thing ever isn’t it.

Maybe I'll test again in the morning if still no period 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I've just logged the spotting in my app and I'm an idiot who can't count
I got mt opk peakon 17th (also cd17)
So I probably ovulated on 18th or 19th right?
Which puts me at 10/11dpo?
So could potentially be implantation bleeding? Or am I just clutching at straws here 😅😂
