Currently TTC number 2 and struggling after getting pregnant fairly easily with number 1 (on cycle 3)!
Thought I'd start a thread so we can all support each other. Anyone else on their TTC journey for number 2? I am currently on cycle 7 and have ruled myself out already as negative pregnancy test at 10DPO. Each month I convince myself that I am pregnant! Experienced a chemical at cycle 3 😩

@hopefullyTTC2x this looks like a definite positive to me! Congratulations hun! It’s early days so the line will still be light plus the test strips are not as sensitive as say for example first response! I am keeping everything crossed for you!

Hi, I hope you don't mind me joining the thread. I think my husband is at his wits end, listening to me go on and on and on about ovulation, strips, bloating, acne etc and I think I am just hoping for some conversation with people that ✨get it✨.

I had my mirena coil in for just under a year due to mental heath reasons and I loved it, ive wanted another baby (I have a 5yo and he has a 7yo from previous) so when he gave me the go ahead to the coil out, I moved earth to get an appointment 🤣

I had my coil out on 11/06 and we BD every other day & then 3 days around predicted ovulation. I tracked ovulation with OPK (with negative results for the entirety) and then AF came and I was totally fine about it and just pleased things were going back to normal.

Fast forward to this month, I am obsessed. But also obsessed with trying not to be obsessed.

I started tracking w OPK with no luck again (started worrying) and then almost gave up when I just had a feeling and it came back positive (this was yesterday). I was so relieved I actually didn't care if we BD or not because again, I was pleased my body was doing as it should after the coil. We did end up BD with excitement.

Today the OPK went back to negative (which is assume is normal?) And we BD.

Because I didn't know what my cycle was doing, I started tracking with Flo and she said that my ovulation was due 4 days ago, I changed the settings to a longer cycle and she's saying it's today, which would make sense with the OPK result right?

I think I am just reaching out to some more experienced women who could help me with identify what is going on, because I have no idea and the constant thinking about it, is actually making me hate myself 😳

This might help actually voice what I'm trying to say here. I also feel really silly because I've only just started trying. I think it's the not knowing where my cycle is, or what anything means that is confusing me.

Ohhhh that's so exciting @hopefullyTTC2x im keeping everything crossed! I'm ready to throw everything at this now.. excuse my ignorance but how does preseed work?xx

hopefullyTTC2x · 13/07/2024 20:48

Thanks both, I've done a second as I couldn't wait and there was a second line on that too 🥲 so as long as it's not a whole dodgy batch 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 it was lighter but it's later in the day and been drinking a lot. Just got to see how it goes and try not to worry.

The only thing we did different this month was use pre-seed. I've never used anything like that but thought why not if there's even the smallest chance it might help and it might have. Praying this is sticky if it is right and sending everyone the beloved baby dust x

LemonBitter · 13/07/2024 20:19

Hey @hopefullyTTC2x honestly I'm no expert but that looks pretty promising to me?!?!

Pandamonium04 · 13/07/2024 20:18

@hopefullyTTC2x hey! I can’t comment on the easy at home tests as I’ve never used them. But… on the opks… When I was pregnant with my first, I didn’t have any pregnancy tests so I peed on an opk and it was very positive. Went out to buy a bunch of pregnancy tests and all positive! This was at 15dpo. I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you!

hopefullyTTC2x · 13/07/2024 17:12

Also tested my LH levels, does it mean anything if they are still high?

Ladies I really need help. So sorry I've not been replying to messages. I did an early test at 9 days PO and it was start white and it really affected me so I've stayed off the platform. I've just done an easy at home test though and have a very faint line. Are these tests reliable? I've never used them before. I'm 11 days PO now and been getting such bad cramps like Af is coming. That's due in 3 days. Really don't want to get my hopes up and have no idea about these kind of tests. Help please!

Aw @NattyPeer it's crap isn't it. Sending hugs.

Period due in 4 days so I feel like it's a bit late for that 😔 also getting AF style cramps. Period came 2 days early last cycle so I feel like it might be the same again. My cycle always used to be like clockwork but it definitely seems a bit off the last few which is VERY inconvenient when you're trying to time things 😂

NattyPeer · 11/07/2024 19:56

@LemonBitter how long is your luteal phase usually? Light pink could be spotting (implantation)?!

@MisssMarion Hello! I’m really sorry to hear about your MC, that must have been so tough.

Even when I am relaxed it doesn’t seem to make any difference. I hate the unknown 😩

Still only getting high fertility today which is unusual for me! Cycle must be mucked up!

Practically all of my NCT are having second children now! Finding that quite difficult 😞

Yeah I'm the same I feel like I don't have the time to chill out 😭

I'm about 10 DPO today and have some light pink in my pants so so thinking AF is on the way and I'm out this cycle 😩

Totally get what you guys are saying about leaving it too late etc, my little one asks for a sibling pretty much daily at the moment and people from NCT that we still meet up with look at my stomach before looking at my face when we see them which I hate.

We've never talked about siblings with my almost 3 yo DD. Yesterday, she went back to nursery (after a week at home because of chickenpox) and apparently told everyone there that mummy had a baby sister in her belly 😨 No idea where that came from but it's incredibly timely...

LemonBitter · 11/07/2024 10:12

@Holls1983 I'm on a similar journey 😔
We conceived our DD on the first try 3.5 years ago, so when we went into TTC#2 we were somewhat relaxed.
We got pregnant the second month, but I then had a MMC. It's now been 3 cycles since my period restarted after the MC and 7 months overall and I'm starting to think it's never going to happen. I just turned 39 so I know the clock is seriously ticking. And I never wanted a very big age gap. It's hard to accept.

NattyPeer · 10/07/2024 21:43

@LemonBitter i hope ovulation will be tomorrow let’s see! I have been both chilled and not chilled and it hasn’t made a difference! I just feel if I’m too chill now it will just waste time though!

@Holls1983 Hey and welcome 🤗

Thank you! I really do understand the feeling of being down! I am so up and down, one minute I am ok then the next I am feeling down. Unless you are going through it like all of us, you simply can’t understand. It just feels like it will never happen!

OP posts:
Mummio92 · 10/07/2024 16:37

@LemonBitter Yeah you do hear of those ‘chilled out and it happened’ stories. Somehow need to be able to feel relaxed and yet still track things at the same time 😅

Hi @Holls1983 welcome. Sorry to hear you’re feeling down about ttc at the moment, it can be such a long, tough road. Do you know for sure your af is on the way?

I am also somewhere around month 7-8 now which is exactly how long it took with first baby but I’m trying not to get carried away imagining some kind of ‘fate’ that it will happen in the same month as last time.

For some reason I had ideas that we would conceive much quicker second time round so have been disappointed to be wrong about that.

Holls1983 · 10/07/2024 15:09

Can I join please ladies. I’m currently waiting for AF Friday and I’m on month 7 after this period. We catch straight away with our daughter who is 5. We are both 40 now. Feeling really down today and on the school run just now. Feel like my life has stopped and I’m just going through the motions. I’m sorry about your chemical @NattyPeer 😔

LemonBitter · 10/07/2024 14:42

Hey @NattyPeer - ovulation tomorrow for you? Fingers crossed this is your cycle. Yeah we've been baby dancing anyway but honestly just feeling so meh about it and that it won't happen 😩

@Mummio92 that's exactly it but you read so many people saying as soon as they stopped tracking they fell pregnant. So tricky. That's a good idea actually, I think we might do the same as if there's something wrong I would rather know!

Mummio92 · 10/07/2024 14:25

@hopefullyTTC2x Welcome and sorry to hear what a difficult journey you’re on. I agree that it’s too early to know what’s happening yet, I’d be surprised by AF cramping from as early as 3dpo unless you have an incredibly short luteal phase usually? Sometimes the body just does things and feels certain ways without that meaning anything.

@LemonBitter Can definitely relate to dtd becoming a chore and hating all the peeing on sticks etc. It’s hard though when it’s like “I can’t get pregnant even when I do all this stuff, if I stopped there’d be no chance!”

I think if I’m not pregnant by September then we’ll look into some private fertility checks just for reassurance if nothing else.

NattyPeer · 10/07/2024 13:53

@hopefullyTTC2x welcome!!! 🤗

With your first did you ever have any testing or anything? I ask because I wonder whether I should get testing with my partner! I think it is too early for implantation but doesn’t mean AF is on its way as you have time to implant!

It so hard isn’t it! It takes the fun out of everything 😩

Hey @hopefullyTTC2x welcome ☺️

It's so frustrating isn't it - sending hugs. How old is your little one?

Same as you I never know whether it's best to "relax" / don't do the OPKs etc or be rigid. Problem we are having is DTD is becoming a bit of a chore with there being a clear end game so to speak and I worry if I don't time it exactly right we wouldn't be doing it enough and miss the window. Sorry TMI probably 😂
