Easy at home tests

So I'm so confused
I'm on cycle day 16 and had a CP last month, followed by a negative test x2.
I just accidentally did a HCG instead of LH test and it was slightly positive but it was another brand that we'd questioned last month, I did a easy at home that I'd bought for this month and I think it's positive.
How can this even be possible? What are the chances of false positives on them?

Little update my hcg only rose to 48 so a 15% increase
They want me in Monday for scan and bloods, think I know this is heading for a miscarriage but the waiting is a killer
Especially as my testa are stronger, goes to show you can't trust then for line progression
I feel a bit broken now and just want the inevitable to start

I'm so sorry, that's so painful. Thinking of you Flowers

Oh I'm sorry. That's not the result you wanted.

Hospital just rang
They're going to scan and do bloods on Monday, we will wait and see but I feel the outcome is inevitable

I think that (generally) urine tests get gradually lighter if you're going to miscarry.
That doesn't apply in molar pregnancies, though. Or in ectopic pregnancies.

There are so many variables.

The only thing re ectopic that is making me a bit chilled is that they saw a bright spot ? Early early pregnancy and it was in my womb not tubes

I have a serious POAS issue and have just done another test (pictures attached) which I think show a serious increase so 🤞
They said in early early it can take a while to get going so I really hope this is the case

BTW your maths is wrong!
You've gone up 60% not 45%.

The hospital calculated it at 45% that's what they were basing it on

Just hoping today's result is a good one

With a miscarriage do they just plateau then drop?
I had 2 Cp and one miscarriage and never got as dark a urine tests as I'm getting now (they're the darkest since my sons tests 3 years ago!) So hoping that's a positive too

TheShellBeach · 27/05/2024 15:21

They now say that about 60% every 48 hours is within normal limits.

Doubling occurs every 2 - 3 days.

Don't forget that the time of day a test is carried out will also have a bearing on the result. Especially in very early pregnancy.

TheShellBeach · 27/05/2024 13:58

OP I think the rise in your hCG is within normal limits.
You must be in very early pregnancy still.

I'm still praying for you.

They just always say it should double and mine went up 45% so I've been worrying a lot, what rise is acceptable do you know?
Having another set done this afternoon
Just done another easy@home test and the picture is below, top is oldest to bottom as newest
I can see a change! I'm just hoping that I'm really early and that's why
I also did an asda test which is 25 sensitive and you can see a solid line in as well
Remaining cautiously optimistic

So second hcg was 42
Not quite the rise I was hoping for if I'm honest, wanted over 50 but they said when the numbers are this small there's so many variables to it
I thinknitll be bloods mid week then a scan next week, only on CD 20 too it's all odd

the anxiety of waiting is killing me I just want to know
Good news was that my test I did shows some serious line progression today, picture attached

Wow those are very clear positives! I'm sorry the rise isn't what you were hoping for. I don't know much about how HCG is meant to rise but the tests look so positive. I'm keeping everything crossed!

Definitely line progression! Tentative congratulations!

TheShellBeach · 24/05/2024 13:14

Well, bearing in mind you are so very early, I think an hCG of 29 is a hopeful result.

Combining that with the scan really does suggest a new, very early pregnancy.

I've got everything crossed for you!

Sounds promising! I hope you're not feeling too nervous about it all. Will be interesting to hear what the blood results are!

So my results have come back.... 29!!!!!
I have to go for bloods tomorrow to see if they have doubled but I think my tests are getting darker (pictures attached) so 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Little update:

So l had a scan no cysts but they equally couldn't see anything, they saw an area of brightness but wouldn't commit to that being a developing foetus
My lining was also thicker which would line up with early pregnancy

They did a test today which was negative but on a 25 sensitivity test and all ours are 6-10
They've taken bloods and in the morning will call to say if they're positive or not
And then repeat HCG on Saturday
They obviously wouldn't commit but they seemed optimistically nervous

Thank you all for your messages and support my head is a shed so it's much appreictaedd!

I had 3 negative tests after CP so think that is so unlikely
Spoke to EPU this morning and they're getting me in for a scan tomorrow, my scan in January was clear so I don't have any crazy tumours like I convinced myself last night! But they aren't sure if it's from my April cycle or my may cycle, I bled on 6th April and 6th May classed them both as AF one post CP

I think I could have ovulated early cos I do remember thinking my CM was different but didn't think much of it and my BTT has been low so thought nothing of it! But who knows
The midwife said I'm clearly pregnant hut they need to figure out when and where
So tomorrow they'll scan and do HCG bloods
I'm trying to not get excited whilst keeping everything crossed

Yeah given that you could be Dpo 9 I think you might be pregnant again 🤞 any tests from today? X

allgoodthings84 · 22/05/2024 10:37

i had 2 CP’s in a row and they messed with my following cycles ovulation so you may have ovulated earlier than usual. On my successful pregnancy (the cycles right after the 2 CPs) my lines were much darker than this at 11dpo (my first test) so would likely have been like this early on. Both my cps I tested negative just before bleeding (both happened at just turned 6 weeks) so I don’t think the hormone tends to hang around for long when such an early loss so if you’ve had negative tests I wouldn’t say it’s left HCG from before. It won’t be that you didn’t have the loss either or the tests would be much much darker and you wouldn’t have had the negatives in between.

basically I think you ovulated very early because of the CP and it’s a new pregnancy and to test again tomorrow to see if darker etc

TheShellBeach · 22/05/2024 10:20

What date did you first start bleeding last month?
