Yet another day of our not-cooking-till-we-move lifestyle. . .

breakfast: 2 eggs on toast, 2 slices back bacon

lunch: 1/2 tuna mayo sandwich, pret crisps, pomegranate power water

dinner: nachos, enchiladas & margaritas at the Texas Embassy

I was good, I only had two margaritas. However, I wish I'd had more, because maybe I'd be able to pass out like DP, who is snoring away next to me now!

Felt awful most of the day as had the most persistant problem with diarrhoea this week! TMI I'm sure, but everything seems to be going straight through so I'm just eating whatever seems to taste good because I've been feeling a bit sick to my stomach along with it. Was bad enough today I had to get some medicine so I didn't spend the day in the loo.

Love the sound of the makeshift pudding... I sometimes chop up apples and satsumas and bananas and pour a bit of cream over the top for a pudding...

Hi everyone!

Was DS's birthday at the weekend and I made him a very chocolatey chocolate cake, of course I had some oops! Also had too much wine on Friday night. Not looking forward to weigh in on Friday. Also AF arrived today no 2008 baby for me then. So hard to lose weight when you are TTc as well. Going to go to circuits tomorrow night

Ready · 09/04/2008 18:05

That is my problem... the thing is, I don't want to deprive dh of treats just because I am too chubby curvy.
HE bought the minstrels home yesterday for the match!!! Then when I declined one at the end of the packet (I do realise it was too late by then) he wouldn't take no for an answer until I glared at him and said "if I have the power to say no, don't ruin it by being persistent"

Wheelybug · 09/04/2008 17:51

Well probabyl best to write off today - think I've found an excuse reason for easter egg scoffing yesterday - CD 1 .

So, today started well - porridge
lunch was a picnic on a trip to the farm so sandwiches mainly
scoffed some choc since being home
tonight is to be jambalaya possibly with some red wine as its a special occasion .

Grrrrr.

It's all gone to pot. Got annoyed at Arsenal losing last night and ate half a bag of minstrels and had cheese on toast for lunch today. And I am eyeing up some jammy dodgers as I type. Must. Not. Get. Up.

Have to admit that the "eat less, move more" technique works perfectly on me - I just have NO willpower . Even worse, if I pull myself together and shop I would be happiest living off fruit and salad - but I run out of time and live off stuff picked up in the canteen or corner shops. Am starting yoga tonight - not much exercise, but it will trap me in a room with no food for 90min .

Thank you Claire and Lottie for joining, I was really starting to feel like I was the only one who had quit a bit to lose! I think I'm still top of the BMI charts at a whopping 42 , but noone ever guesses I weigh as much as I do (there is muscle packed in somewhere under the flab apparently). My problem is that I'm only 5'3 and of short squatty stock (look just like my dad's mum and his sisters). The stupid PCOS doesn't help.

I did WW back in the U.S. and lost about 2 stone, but it took ages and I've gained it back and then some. That was about 7 years ago. Now I'm older and even more out of shape.

This ridiculously skinny doctor told me today 'you just have to eat less and do more exercise'. I think I might have smirked because doesn't she think I would have done that if it were that easy? Then she said 'oh you think it will be a problem, you like your food eh?' I said 'actually, I've got PCOS and it makes it quite difficult to lose weight' and she admitted that it does make it much harder, but then said something like 'don't use it as an excuse' and told me I should only have 1500 calories a day. I'm tempted to have them in gin and tonic. Arggghhhhh.

By my own admission I haven't been great lately, but it really annoys me when skinny people who've clearly never had trouble with weight in their life act like it's just soooooo easy. My entire life, even when I was young and exercising loads, I've never been skinny or even slim. I can remember as a very young girl being thrilled with the gymnast Mary Lou Retton, because she broke the mold of gymnasts having to be tall and willowy. MLR was very short and had very chunky muscley thighs, and she totally kicked the arse of all those scrawny girls!

Rant over now....breathing....reaching for diet soda (which I should also be giving up....sigh).

ClairePO · 09/04/2008 09:58

I have easter egg left too, am having a little a day. But I have cut out on all other fattening things including wine which was my downfall. Have joined the giving up on wine thread in the big slim section.

Having a banana for breakfast instead of a granola bar, did a 25 minute very brisk walk yesterday. I would prefer to make small changes that I will find it easier to keep up with though.

Food report -

Breakfast - porridge with dried apricots
Lunch - pitta bread with homous cucumber and pepper
snack a chunck of easter egg
Dinner - sweet potato with tuna mayo, avocado and tomatoes.

Not bad if it hadn't been for that pesky easter egg.

LenniEd · 08/04/2008 20:33

Food today:

Breakfast: 1 egg (scrambled - DDs favourite), 1 slice wholegrain granary toast

Lunch: Tomato and veg soup, 1 slice bread with butter (oops on the butter)

Tea: Quorn chicken portion (couldn't be bothered to cook with carrots and cabbage

Slice of birthday cake and a malibu and coke ... well it is my birthday tomorrow

ShayeraHol · 08/04/2008 19:41

lottie - a very good likeness! Although she was actually larger than that believe it or not...

Today's been a bad day - stressful, busy, and with cakes in the office Only had 3 little ones, but then also had a handful of cereal thingys at home and think I'll be breaking my wine embargo tonight (really was THAT bad a day!) Plus hayfever just started, have mega cough and am using it as an excuse not to exercise. BAH!

ClairePO · 08/04/2008 11:49

LenniEd · 08/04/2008 11:40

I'm not going for BMI 25 - not straight away anyhow. First I want to fit into my pre-pg clothes properly - not all that far off that, maybe about 1/2 stone away. Am a large size 16 now, was size 14/16 when I got pg and 12/14 when I got married. Would love to be 12/14 again (and would be at 11 1/2 st) but would be happy with getting back in my pre-pg clothes before we have no. 2. Once we've had another baby I want to lose ALL the weight, but you've got to have little goals along the way to keep you going.
