@BlueberryPoppy123 and welcome!

LindyMoe · 27/05/2024 08:21

@BlueberryPoppy123 thank you 💜
Yes others have been lovely with my worry too but a few of us have it

How do they get on? I had a super tough last year and my siblings were a huge part of how I got through it so well. I want that for my DS but if I'm being honest we all get on well as adults - so I guess it doesn't really matter about the age gap.

Hopefully we get pregnant in the new few months which would mean DS is 5 when they arrive.

What's really really depressing me is this:

My DS is 4... I'm not even pregnant so the age gap will be huge. Have I failed him?

Just joining this thread so reading through to catch up. Don't know if this comment has been addressed by others yet but my DS1 was 7 when I fell pregnant with DS2 and had just turnt 8 when he arrived. Now we're going for baby 3 they're 12 and 4 so another big age gap. Noones failed it's just a gap xx

LindyMoe · 27/05/2024 08:00

@ClassicQuill sorry to hear about your loss, that is incredibly tough. I lost my mum last year too - we were going TTC but obviously that stopped things.

@jellyfish2 on AF so should I start taking folics now or when she ends?

ButItHasCheese · 27/05/2024 02:16

Hi everyone, joining as AF just arrived so I'm out for May. TTC #2 and on cycle 5 now. DC1 took 2 cycles so it's been a totally new experience (I can't believe how we took it for granted the first time...)
Good luck to everyone.

Amber17 · 26/05/2024 22:54

Hi all. Hoping to start TTC in June for #2 - our first is now 17 months. Can’t use BBT this time round due to the sleep disruption and OPKs are still negative at CD14 but have already peaked. Last cycle was only 24 days so not sure what’s going on.

jellyfish2 · 26/05/2024 21:49

@ClassicQuill I imagine when you do have a baby it'll be such a happy experience but also you'll be tinged with sadness thinking of your parents but I definitely agree with it would bring a small part of them back and make you feel closer to them 🩷

So folic acid is synthetic and not everyone's body can convert it to its natural form (folate). Have a Google of it, it made sense when it rsad about it haha.

Two week window, the time after you've ovulated until your period arrives so it's the wait until you find out if you're pregnant or not. It really drags in and it's hard not to symptom spot then be so disappointed when ts just pms symptoms!

I'm going to see how this month goes, if I don't get pregnant this month I'm going to contact my GP. I had a bit of a breakdown recently when I went for bloods and told her what happened so I'll contact them and explain about the cramping and different periods since the miscarriage. I suspect she'll say that it's normal as the body has been through a trauma but it's so disheartening seeing others get pregnant so quickly after being through similar.

Can I ask what Myo-Inositol does? And would you recommend taking it?

I also have PCOS and I see lots of people talking about it but I've never really looked into it.

Hi @meggie1tr! I learnt I had PCOS years ago and didn't really worry about it. But last year I had an AMH test (which I think looks at a hormone that can indicate if you have a good egg reserve), and part of the service was a discussion about anything I would want support with for when I decided to TTC.

I mentioned I had PCOS and irregular periods, and they said they'd recommend this product: https://www.fertilityfamily.co.uk/product/inofolic-alpha/

I took it for a long time, and it genuinely has helped. I also try to be a bit more active (although it's been very hit and miss this year for various reasons). That website has more information about the evidence behind myo-inositol helping.

I take a cheaper alternative, now though, as those sachets are very expensive!

ClassicQuill · 26/05/2024 21:41

Thanks @jellyfish2 , you're very kind. I think I will struggle a lot without them tbh, but maybe having a baby will bring a small part of them back IYSWIM?

Ooh yes, good point. I am taking folic acid tablets that I've bought, is there a difference between that and folate? Also, sorry for more questions, but what is TWW?

I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage ♥ Do you have a supportive GP who would listen to your intuitions?

jellyfish2 · 26/05/2024 21:29

@ClassicQuill sorry to hear about your mum and dad, that must have been so tough losing them so close together.
Have you started on folic acid? I've been taking a pregnancy supplement which contains folate instead of folic acid.
Before my missed miscarriage I got pregnant on the first cycle but since my surgery in Feb I haven't been able to.

ClassicQuill · 26/05/2024 21:21

Ah I see, thanks @jellyfish2! In that case I am on CD5. I know it's early but we have started anyway!

Is there any general advice? I've stopped drinking altogether, although I've not really been a regular drinker for years now. And I take the myo-inositol, but that's it. Maybe that's all there is to it until we've been trying for a while! Very exciting, though.

My mum and dad died in 2020/2021, I'm not that close to my PILs, and I don't have any other family, so there's no one to ask about their experiences. I will probably be hanging out here and asking lots of stupid questions!

Hello, I'd like to join. 34 and TTC my first baby, starting this month. I have no idea what some of the acronyms are or what I'm doing (other than the obvious!).

I have PCOS and do take myo-inositol. My periods are regular-ish now. I'm two days since the end of my last period, not sure which CD that makes me?

We're just planning to DTD every other day, so we'll see!

CD1 is the first day of your period 😊

We're hoping to start our TTC journey in June. Not sure if it will be possible though.

I was expecting my first period since coming off the pill to start last week and it's still a no show 😩 never thought I'd be willing my period to start 😂

OnePinkDuck · 26/05/2024 19:41

Hey all, I didn’t join the May thread but heading into cycle 5. AF due Tues-Thurs but 99% sure I’m out this cycle so just waiting for AF to arrive to start again.

Good luck everyone!

LK2610 · 26/05/2024 19:32

Marking my place here. AF due Wednesday next week and I’m 99% sure she’s coming

KittyFantastica · 26/05/2024 17:41

Hi @LindyMoe, they just said some ladies get a period four weeks after the surgery and for some it takes a lot longer. I had positive pregnancy tests all the way up until the 7 week mark when my period arrived, and had to be scanned twice to check for retained tissue. There wasn't any either time, they did a HCG blood test and confirmed it was going down just very, very slowly, but they said it was a mystery as to why it was happening so slowly for me. They said I didn't have to wait for the first period, but it's good for dating, etc. The thing is, until the period, my tests were still positive anyway so I'd have had no way of knowing whether I'd ovulated and had a new pregnancy or was just testing positive with the previous one.

TTC can be so stressful as you say, it we weren't even really trying this month, I was just tracking to make sure I ovulated and my cycle was back to normal. I worried about not ovulating, but I never dreamed I'd have to worry about a 4 day luteal phase. The stress now is horrible. I've no idea whether it will be life this next time or go back to normal. Could be one month, or could be many or even a year. It's so upsetting.

LindyMoe · 26/05/2024 16:53

@jellyfish2 sorry to hear about your MC - I can't imagine planning for the arrival and then things changing. I can't make heads or tails of why these things happen, but you can pregnant so I'm hoping it happens again successfully for you

@KittyFantastica how much time were you advised recovery would be? I only ask because I'm wondering if perhaps you're putting too much pressure on yourself give what you've been through? Through TTC we're very good at doing that unfortunately

Irish812 · 26/05/2024 16:44

Hello all, moving over from May thread. I'm on cycle 5 ttc first baby. Should be ovulating tomorrow or Tues. Fx for everyone this cycle.

KittyFantastica · 26/05/2024 10:43

Hello ladies,

I was mid-cycle until four days ago. I thought I was just spotting, but it's turned into what seems to be a light period. Spotted for two days, then stopped, now it seems to be light flow. Devastating as this was my first cycle post-D&C after MMC in March. I'm upset at how long it's taking my body to recover from this as I had a chemical before the MMC and conceived off the back of the chemical. It took 7 weeks for my first AF after the surgery and, despite ovulating day 15, looks like I'm back to square one after just four days in luteal phase. I'm scared for what it means going forward. I was always lucky to have a clockwork cycle before, so not used to not being able to predict everything. We weren't even properly trying this month, but to not even be able to have my cycle normal again is a real kick in the teeth.

I guess I'm CD6 now.

jellyfish2 · 26/05/2024 08:36

Was hoping I wouldn't find myself on this board but unfortunately here I am. After my MMC and surgery in February I'm convinced there's something not right as I conceived so quickly with my successful pregnancy and the MC. Since the surgery I've had really bad cramps a week before my period arrives but I don't think the GP would do anything at this point would they?

@LindyMoe you haven't failed your DS please don't worry about that but I do understand your feelings. I hoped for a 3ish year age gap which I was going to have until I had the MC but now I'll be lucky if it's 4 years. It's so stressful isn't it, I find myself in tears a lot of the time but I don't think anyone would understand so I just keep it to myself.

LindyMoe · 26/05/2024 07:41

Onto cycle #5 ... AF arrived 😭

CSmith1 · 26/05/2024 00:32

Hi everyone, currently on our third cycle of clomid. Have had two false positives the last two cycles so it's been pretty emotionally draining. Hoping this third cycle will be it for us but probably not. Having a break after this one as clomid really messes with my emotions!

Biggest of luck to everyone TTC in June, this will be the month for you!! ✨✨✨
