Thought I’d make a new thread for those of us Ttc in June 2024. I know some of us will cross over from end of May to June ! Wishing everyone all the luck ✨❤️

May I join, didn’t want to find myself back here but here I am! Conceived in April/May after 8 months of TTC for #1, which sadly ended in an early miscarriage last week. Sorry to see so may have experienced similar.

Now feeling excited to just crack on and get trying again. We DTD last night - did anyone else find that nerve wracking post MC?! We’re taking the fact that we got pregnant in the first place as a positive, and hoping that the rumours of being fertile after a loss are true.

So sorry for your loss. I am in a similar situation as you, TTC #1, conceived in April and a CP in May. Similar to you, my husband and I also take the positive that we could get pregnant, hopeful for the future and back to TTC :)

I'm sorry for your loss, I'm also in the same boat. Had a MC at the end of May, still going through it physically as tissue remained 😓Will be trying again as soon as we can though, I feel like the first time will be a bit strange too 🙈

@GreenPickle I have attached (tried, not sure if it actually worked) a screen grab of my BBT from August 2023 to today and all the cycles in between. I wasn't TTC then, only started in my April cycle this year, which ended in a CP (the blue line is the pregnancy and the gradual dip is the loss, had a BFN within 3 days of the loss starting). You can kind of see that for me the temperature drops just before ovulation and rises quite steeply after and drops again at AF arrival. Red indicates the fertile window. Overtime there is definitely a pattern to make out, I also use OPKs every month to check when I expect to ovulate. Despite the CP a few weeks ago at TTC cycle#1 I think for me ovulation seems to potentially occur today, tomorrow or has already occurred yesterday I think.

I use natural cycles to track everything, but found premom for the OPK from this thread which has been very helpful. Didn't realise they actually assess the picture! Very cool.

Currently trying to wait it out for 2 weeks, before testing anything.

Hope it all works out for us soon x

My only piece of advice (easier said than done) would be to take it day by day! Tomorrow it might shoot back up but I understand how it’s so easy to keep thinking forward! But it might a pattern for you having your bbt drop after ovulation… maybe even just before implantation?

I don’t really know how bbt works - does it drop on day of ovulate? And if you are pregnant it stays up but if you are not, it goes down?

yes, deffo a relief but also not loving how I’m on CD36 😂😂 never thought I’d be the one having the longest cycle ever! Tbh I am surprised that a CP has messed up my cycle this much, I was sure I would just go back to normal!

Yeah to be honest I’m just about ready to call it quits and crack on with life after this cycle. Sick of it taking over everything 😂.
I think on my pregnancy chart I had an implantation dip at around 6dpo, but apparently it doesn’t always happen, or doesn’t always mean it’s implantation. Meant to stay high until AF is due and then drop.

Haha oh gosh! Well at least it’s no longer and you’re officially into the countdown. Aren’t you supposedly more fertile after a chemical/miscarriage? 🤞🏻

Haha ttc turns us all a bit delirious doesn’t it 😂. Yeah I’m not overthinking it as it’s 100% too early and doesn’t mean anything.
I’m feeling very deflated this morning. My BBT has dropped again even lower, so I don’t think it’s our month again. The only thing keeping me going is my pregnancy chart did the same, but I’m thinking maybe I didn’t actually ovulate (attached both).
So a bit down in the dumps today!

Omg that’s great that you know when your surge was though! At least (hopefully) you’re out of the confusion and can relax a bit xxx

I feel like there is still hope although I admit I haven't seen a BBT chart like yours before however it is normal for you which means you will be fine. Unless your AF is here, don't give up!

This is really really helpful thank you so much!

I've read to test in the morning, is it just the morning or throughout the day?

Thanks!

Always test BBT when you just wake up in the morning.

Hi girls,

I'm new to BBT testing this month and finding it quite confusing - can anyone please explain when the peaks and lows should be that I need to keep an eye out for?

Thanks!

Assumption: you have a 28 day cycle
follicular phase
CD1 - CD5 (assume your period lasts for 5 days): your baseline BBT (low)
CD 5- CD 13 (before ovulation): it fluctuates and gradually rising
CD14 (ovulation day): It rises further and might drop down a bit which means an egg is released.
luteal phase
CD15 - CD27: BBT keeps rise and remain high.
CD28: BBT drops sharply when AF arrives. Or BBT remains elevated when you are pregnant

Hello, I am currently heading into my first cycle after having a MC 4 weeks ago. I am just finishing my first AF since the MC and I am thinking I will start taking ovulation tests as soon as AF is over because I am not sure if ovulation will be slightly different after the miscarriage.

Very happy to finally be able to start trying again but nervous after the loss.

Welcome !! I hope you will get a BFP this cycle! You might ovulate later than usual so it is better to keep it in mind.

LucyCL · 04/06/2024 11:07

meggie1tr · 03/06/2024 22:59

What day does everyone take their first ovulation test?
Do you take one as soon as your period is finished or do you wait closer to your fertile week?

I start to take one as soon as my period is finished then I can have a full set of data for the whole cycle.

Hello I’m currently going into cycle 6 of TTC. I have a 3 half year old and fell pregnant the first time with her. I think I was nieve in thinking it would happen so easily again :(. Every month I use the Cheepie opks and digitals, so I know my ovulation dates etc but for some reason it’s just not working
for us. I’m 36 soon and just wondering at what point should I go to the doctors, and maybe ask for some tests/even bloods. Does anyone have any experience of doing so? X

There are some private fertility clinics. They are expensive however will provide you some tests really fast. Also you have to have 3 MCs before NHS takes your matter seriously.

LucyCL · 04/06/2024 11:01

adventurer99 · 03/06/2024 16:51

Hold off as long as you can!!

I caved today at 7dpo (had some bright red fresh blood but also know nothing would more than likely show up) and have felt crap all day seeing nothing but a stark white gap on 2 tests!

Could it be implantation blood?

LucyCL · 04/06/2024 11:00

hopeful4us · 03/06/2024 16:49

I’m planning to hold off testing until 10dpo as our first cycle so don’t want to pin everything on it, if AF arrives at least I can track properly. Having said that I’ll probably cave earlier - my partner is much more relaxed than I am!

Very wise! For this 2ww, I am really chilled about what will happen next. However it still doesn't stop me testing hcg from 1 dpo. Haha

StampOnTheGround · 04/06/2024 11:00

Hey all, can I join??

I think ovulation has probably already happened for me a couple of days ago, so will be watching and waiting!

LucyCL · 04/06/2024 10:58

SLLR · 03/06/2024 21:35

Also forgot to ask has anyone tired proceive? I take a standard multivitamin, folic acid and omega 3/fish oil. Is it worth buying proceive instead or are they all much the same? I have also been looking into talking COQ10

Yes, I am taking proceive conception, COQ10 and other vitamin supplements of other brands. Previously I did take proceive conception and procieve omega 3 fish oil. It was fine however after taking them for 6 months, I did a health check and the doctor said that I was lack of Vitamin D. I don't know if it only applies to me or proceive conception doesn't have enough Vitamin D.

@LucyCL That is so interesting to see the Mira graphs. As someone who loves a gadget and data I have been so tempted, but I haven't been able to justify the upfront and ongoing cost. Although if I knew at the start that I would be at least 5 cycles, then I might have... Might see if they do another discount code if I am unsuccessful this cycle. Re: resting heart rate I have a fitbit that does it (and will say if it's higher than my normal range), although it doesn't do BBT like apple watch.

@GreenPickle Ah sorry you are finding it draining. Speaking from my own experience I found cycles 2 & 3 the hardest because I did become a bit obsession. I am on cycle 5 of trying now and I am very much able to think about other things which is nice. I also took a break from trying after cycle 4, and that helped a lot. I think you would think it's worst thing to not try, but for me I found it gave me a bit of perspective and I looked forward to trying again.

@Carportforme @Simplespell27 @LeleMR So sorry to read about your losses, wishing you all the best for this cycle and TTC going forward.

@Marie1990x how many dpo are you? BBT drops mid-luteal phase are quite common with a late oestrogen rise. I get a big drop every cycle and then temp goes up again.

My update
I am 7dpo today, had a really fitful sleep last night. Woke up feeling very nauseous and luckily I am working from home because I can't stop burping! I have a rule that don't assume anything before 12dpo is a symptom which I am breaking today!

The good thing about TTC for more than a few months is I remember feeling nauseous at a similar point a couple of months ago, so not going to read into it! 👀

You are like me, who like collecting data! : ) So, I will buy an apple watch to measure RHR and BBT. I find Mira useful if my pee is concentrated. There are some days I am thirsty and I have to drink lots of water which makes the collected data inconsistent. So, I start to test twice with Mira, one in the morning and another one in the afternoon.
I am 7 dpo today and I know the data I collected on Mira is somewhat inaccurate so I did the female hormone level test this morning and will receive the exact figures later today. Then I plan to do another one and a hcg test on 10 dpo and this is to track my hormone levels closely. If I end up with a CP, then I will take the data to show it to the GP (as it would be my third MC).

When will you test?

I think I'm going nuts. I can see a second line on this test. I can't see it on the photo though only on the test when it's in my hand up close. I have 1 test left so I think I need to wait another 2 days before retesting. Just hoping it isn't all in my head and maybe get a faint line visible in a picture in 2 days!

Just went and took a 2nd picture with flash on and think you can see what I mean is this just an indentation line?

@Marie1990x i support it!’I was going preggo tests from 1dpo last month 😂😂 must have done about 25 in the end! When I zoom in on the hgc, there does look like a shadow? But it’s toooo early so I’m guessing it’s either my eyes or an evap?

i did an early test this AM to cross out pregnant and it was a negative which I’m sort of relieved with because I know my true surge / ovulation was 5 days ago! On CD35 now (4dpo) and I know this month is going to draaaag! My OPKs are still hovering between .4 and high .5s but think I’m going to stop testing 😂 famous last words😫 I have love island to keep me busy now anyway

@imy yes I've taken about 10 tests. To be fair a few of them were way too early. My last test was Saturday morning. I always use first morning wee but was reading through comments on here 2nd is usually better as it's more concentrated. I'm a week late tomorrow so I know I'll not be able to resist testing tomorrow I think I'll try my 2nd and see if it helps. Doubtful though I don't feel pregnant. Then if it's still negative I'm going to wait until Saturday again (or try to)
