Ready · 10/04/2008 18:27

Weird!! What happened there!!

Ready · 10/04/2008 18:26

Anyone reckon that sounds like me? I hope I am not tactless, but I suspect I probably am ? I hate violence and show offs. And I am furiously private ? I am an excellent communicator and a total idealist ? no wonder my Mum always says ?oh, you?re a typical Aquarian? ? I always just rolled my eyes at her ... Thanks Tink

Clair, I'm the same, I cry more about random strangers with bumps and babies but seem to keep it together when my own friends announce. IKEA is the absolute worst!

PrePG, excellent idea with the CM sensitive TP! If I had any money, I'd invest!

sarah76 · 10/04/2008 17:46

and thanks to everyone else who commented on my work situation, just realised last message had been sitting on my screen and not posted, so did it quickly, not meaning to not thank everyone individually for making me feel way better about this!

Thanks for letting me rant/whinge a bit ladies. Thanks Lottie, Fym & Hairy for letting me know it's not just me!

Hairy I'm the same way, logically I know you won't be friendly with everyone you meet, but I still want people to like me, and despite telling myself all the time I don't care, I do!

I seem to be emotionally all over the place today, maybe PMT starts at 3dpo?

PrePG · 10/04/2008 17:41

Oh Clair I'm sorry, but you made me laugh! I don't mind the J word () so much because I've read she had some trouble conceiving herself. But I know what you mean. sending you lots of baby dust and hugs!

So, temping ladies, I just thougth of the most amazing invention while in teh bathroom and I knew that all of you would TOTALLY appreciate it. Okay, ready for this? CM sensitive toilet paper!!!!! So like it'll change color or something depending on the consistency of your CM so you don't have to sit there looking at it thinking If it's shiny does that mean it's wet or eggwhite?!?!? How great would that be????? I admit, there are still a few more kinks to iron out...

Hi Everyone!

Tink ... you are very welcome here!

Sarah ... When it comes to your ex-colleagues, the fact that it still bothers you to leave without saying goodbye shows that you are by far the bigger person here. They completely lost out on the chance to be friends with you. Big thickos . Try not to think of them ... you've a wonderful fresh start ahead of you!

Prepg ... for some reason I do great when people I know tell me they're expecting. It's the multitude of random strangers-with-bumps that I see when I'm out and about (especially around AF time) that makes me tear-y ... That and celebs. J-Lo was my worst ... broke my heart crying when I read she was expecting twins all those months ago. DH was too busy laughing at me to console me ... then I saw the ridiculous side of it and laughed too. Even to this day, I'm not allowed to say her name in this house ...

PrePG · 10/04/2008 17:17

sarah I always try to sneak away without saying goodbye, but that's because I hate goodbyes. Like Ready says, you're better off without their fake sentiment! Best of luck for your last day! [smile}

Temp has risen, but not shot up. Oh, I don?t fecking know. I think it is possible that the clocks going forward have messed me up. Tut.

You lot have been EVER so chatty? not sure I have caught up properly? shout if I missed something.

Rattling, very shocked that you have to wait so long when you are paying. That seems odd!

Sarah, pmsl, the first thing my gp said to me was ?are you having lots of sex?
? with regard to those bitches at your office, you are better off without their fake wishes ? what a couple of cows!! Don?t even let them get to you, they are not worth it! You are the bigger person! It would have been polite for them to at least wish you well, but their track record doesn?t gleam with good social etiquette does it!! I know it is easy to say, forget them, but honestly, don?t allow them to upset you!

So? I know nothing about astrology? what are Aquarians like?

Hairytoe, this thread is for all crazy tempers, regardless of the amount of sprogs

Lottie pmsl at knit-your-own-muesli comment ? and arguing the waves in the pond? it?s your pond, if you want waves, you can have waves Is the cd short? I always drift in and out and never know what time it is

PrePG, I know that, publicly I am rock hard, but poor dh when we get home? my bottom lip just goes and he swoops in to catch me

Welcome Tinkerbell

PrePG · 10/04/2008 16:13

that was me for the blinds, fym thank you! Although, I work in a theatre and it hit me the other day that I should talk to the wardrobe department! They just got back to me and told me that someone down there does them, so I'm going to check her out first. Thank you though!

HairyToe · 10/04/2008 14:55

sarah I can really sympathise with this. I remember being in situations like this in various office type jobs. I'm quite a confident upbeat person on the surface but I'm very non-confrontational and want everyone to 'like' me iykwim. I found the office politics and sometime bitchiness really hard to deal with.

In one job I had a girl fell out with me for a ridiculous reason and never spoke to me again (despite 4 of us sharing an office). Luckily I left a few months mater but she never said goodbye and didn't come to my leaving drinks after work . Shouldn;t have nothered me but it did at the time.

Still once you leave you can leave that all behind and make a fresh start.

I dunno, I just thought at the very end they could put away this irrational hatred they seem to have toward me and at least try to leave it on good terms.

I'm a bit like a ballon these days, trying to inflate my self-esteem and not get pricked by the pin of self-doubt, but this kind of thing really gets to me---like it's confirming the niggling paranoia I have on a daily basis, that everyone hates me and I'm an awful person.

Sarah - oh dear mind you did you really want to say goodbye to them??? I don't think I'd have bothered!

Speaking of neurotic and feckless whinging. . . tomorrow's my last day at work. I've been here nearly four years. The two women on my project (who are glued at the hip) left yesterday, not back till Monday. They didn't say a word to me, not goodbye, good luck....nothing. I found out because I sent an email after they'd gone and got their out of office reply.

Backround info: when I first got here, they ignored me for months even though we shared an office and worked on the same project. My boss felt sorry for me and moved me to a different one (I didn't even have to ask, she could see I was miserable). We moved buildings two years ago and I've sat across from them in this open-plan nightmare, getting glared at every time I dare open my mouth.

I'm prone to depression and was off for two months starting in January due to stress-related illness. Basically I was a wreck and needed more antidepressants to even leave the flat. Divorce/moving/TTC/working with sour-faced cows has not been good for me. But no matter how much you dislike someone you work with, don't you at the very least, when it's all over, just say 'bye, good luck!'? If only from relief that they're going? Is that some American thing that I'm carrying on? Doesn't this thread completely belong on 'Am I Being Unreasonable?'? I would put it there, but I'm too scared people will say what they've done is normal and I'm being an oversensitive twit.

sorkycake · 10/04/2008 14:21

Thank you for your kind words & I'm glad you found our little temping haven.
Afternoon everyone, hope you're all well. Haven't had a chance to catch up, but hoping someone has good news soon.
Herby it looks like we're buddies again then
