Hairy I took you off the list, hope you don't mind... now that you have graduated.

PrePG · 16/04/2008 15:47

That's my mom's birthday!

HairyToe · 16/04/2008 15:10

Due date is 23rd December 2008. Started stressing at 4am this morning about which relatives I'm going to invite when (and where they are going to sleep) in order to have someone in the house to look after dcs when I go into labour. Sounds ridiculaous but hey I've only got 8 months to sort it out-no time like the present for incessant worrying.

sorkycake · 16/04/2008 15:02

HT when are you due? Will you be the first on the Jan 09 thread ?

ClairePO · 16/04/2008 13:42

Congratulations HairyToe

HairyToe · 16/04/2008 13:28

Hi everyone - been spending the morning cleaning like a proper housewife should so have only just logged on. Thank you for all your congratulations. I did another test this morning which was positive so I think I've passed the first hurdle - fingers crossed it stays safe for the next 8 months.

Prepg - Haven't known you all long but I'll work on that taking you with me thing. I'll certainly keep an eye on you all and will be shouting support from the sidelines (probably best not to visualise this as you are actually in the process of making a baby -it could prove very off-putting). Really hoping I see some of you on the pregnancy and ante-natal threads before too long.

Do you know when I first regeistered on MN and chose a nickname I didn't really think about it too much (comes from DD1's favourite poem at the time). I hadn't anticipated chatting to people and being called Hairy! Don't get me wrong - I really don't mind, I think it's hilarious. Just every time I read it I smile to myself wondering what image you must all have of me. I keep getting a picture in my head of 'Sulley' from Monsters Inc. Not too far from the truth actually ().

Londonlottie - run a 5k race? Just typing this post has made me out of breath. When I was at school I achieved an all time record for the longest time taken to run the 1500m. Gives you some idea of my stamina levels. Good luck with your training.

And good luck to everyone else here. In the nicest possible sense I hope I won't be returning as a 'temper' (iykwim) but I will be watching you (stalker alert).

luvingtinkerbell · 16/04/2008 12:30

thanks fym for book recommendation

luvingtinkerbell · 16/04/2008 12:10

good luck
think i will buy that book fym thanks
going to get that one plus zita book as a deal

PrePG · 16/04/2008 12:10

chochosan Most of the larger Boots' do a 'Fertility Pack' with a digital BBT and a booklet that has instructions and some charts to help you get started. Most of us keep our charts online using Fertility Friend or My Monthly Cycles though.

ChoChoSan · 16/04/2008 12:06

Thanks very much Tinkerbell, I will start to test tomorrow, which is CD2 for me, and also the day on which I start my first round of Clomid.

This means that I will not be charting my natural cycle, but at least I should get some idea of when I'm ovulating - if you have read any of my (few) other posts you'll know that I suspect I have a short luteal phase, so hopefully I'll get an indication!

fym · 16/04/2008 12:04

did that make sense??? Basically get a BBT digital one! Oh and read this!

good luck! you'll get lots of help on this thread!

OP posts:
luvingtinkerbell · 16/04/2008 12:02

hi cho
you need a bbt thermometer
i bought mine on ebay for £4 pounds
think chemists should do one just ask for a bbt digitail thermometer has to be accurate
start temping in the morning if you can st an alarm you need to take same time each morning as soon as you wake up before moving etc
good luck
i started temping this cycle is exciting
hope this helps

fym · 16/04/2008 12:02

Hi chochosan the recommendation is for a digital degrees F one in 1dp and a degrees c one to 2dp (so a proper BBT one). I have temped for 7 months with a normal digital thermometer (in degrees F) with no problems.

If going non digital you have to have a proper bbt one as you need to be able to see a temperature rise of just a few points of a degree (mine is around 1/2 a degree but others have less!)

ChoChoSan · 16/04/2008 11:47

Quick question - if anyone can help.

I am about to start charting my temp, and don't have time to read up about it straight away. I am on CD1, and the opportunity presents itself to get away from my desk to buy a thermometer in the local chemist...can I just get an ordinary mercury thermometer, or must it be a BBT one?

Morning all!

Congrats Hairy Toe!!!!!!!!! That's so amazing!!!! Best wishes for a sticky healthy bean! And RE: feeling sad about leaving this thread, why doncha takes us all with you!?

Temp plunged today and bleeding started in earnest, which makes sense - but now I don't know whether or not I should count the first two days as spotting. It was really really light, like sort of between spotting and light menses. And then what does this all mean for my LP??? So sorky confusion still cotinues regarding just what exactly is CD1! Hope yours is a little more defined!

sarah and rattling I've been taking 50mg of B6 in addition to Pregnacare as well, but it's really hard to say if it's having any effect on my LP at all. The first month I started taking it was the cycle I got pregnant, so I dont' know what my LP would've been, although I didn't miscarry until 11weeks, and it was a mmc, so I'm sure that my LP had nothing to do with that anyway, which is a good sign. I've been taking B6 throughout this cycle, but it appears to have done nothing for my LP - unless you count the funny spotting/really light period days as part of my LP... But then again, I've chalked this cycle up to crazy because it was the first since mc anyway. I've just started taking the 50mg B6 twice a day for this cycle to see what happens. I can't find anywhere in my TCOYF that she actually recommends B6 let alone a dosage, but she sort of alludes to it, and mentions someone else who recommends 200-500mg/day to lengthen LP. That seems like an awful lot to me, so I figured I'd try the 100mg and see what happens.
