Hey Ready ... sweet of you to notice

I'm hoping yesterday's dip was my pre-ov dip but I'm still getting negative OPK's (internet cheapies). Just hoping my temp goes up now then I can relax a little. I always like the 1st week of the 2ww best ...

Ready · 18/04/2008 18:07

ClairL ... do you think you will ovulate today? The dip yesterday could have been the pre-ov dip, I sometimes get that. Did you do an opk yesterday or today?

Had first good amount of EWCM this morning....wondered if I'd ever have any again. Funny how such weird things can make you feel more positive ...plus its the weekend so dh might feel more in the mood - luckily ds still goes for a sleep for a couple of hours at lunch (although 9 times out of 10 so does DH!! ) - I might have to join him .....

Chin up Sarah !

Lottie, sorry about the timing of the yoga retreat? and the helpful advice of not always ovulating on cd14 That made me chuckle!

Ok? Another early wake up, and too scared to adjust up, because it leads to my brain wandering places it really shouldn?t wander to.

Hope everyone is ok?

Morning all

herby I managed to catch Property Ladder last night - hilarious about that woman hypnotising her husband! When she was adamant that he do the plastering I thought is she kidding? Hasn't she watched the Beeny before? Doesn't she know that plastering is the one job you DON'T try yourself! Turns out her husband was a pretty good plasterer to begin with - I don't think the hypnotherapy had anything to do with it!

Good luck to your friend! I think every woman should temp, it just makes so much sense to me (Am I sounding a little too much like Toni Wechsler???) When we decided to TTC, DH and I took a very practical approach. I told him about the temping thinking he would cringe at the possible unleashing of the obsessive monster inside me, but he just nodded and said Sure, makes sense. And he even offered to have a semen analysis done before we even started. It just makes sense to me to make sure everything's in working order to try to avoid lots of heartache if at all possible.

PS: According to the 'Things to do to get pregnant' thread on pregnancy it's probably best not to sneeze when you're TTC or cough for that matter!

sarah {{hugs}} for you. Half way through reading your post I thought, wow, she's grumpy today! LOL. Here's a bunch of daffodils to make you smile!

rattling · 18/04/2008 10:34

Lottie - so much talk of yoga and anger. Am picturing you on a yoga mat, lotus position, chanting and snarling. I suppose I do hope you are more relaxed than that, but it would be bloody funny.

And sneaking in DH sounds just the ticket for getting those hormones flowing like a 16-year old again .

Stupid temp is all over the place. Tried un-adjusting all the temps and now it just looks like I'm an idiot who can't take my temp at same time every day. Haven't found my alarm clock yet, and alarm on thermometer isn't loud enough to wake me up when I have earplugs in. And the new bedframe is really uncomfortable. And my back hurts. Grrrr.

And I hate smug people too, give 'em a punch in the nose for me. Why can't they realise not everyone is the same and it's not that easy for some of us!?

Man, I'm grumpy today.

My friend told me I didn't have to bother with temping and OPK's, just have sex every 3rd day, it worked for her because it only took 5 weeks with her youngest. Very smug and completely unhelpful.

Thanks Beanie and Herbgarden for the info ...

Herbgarden ... really admiring your restraint with your neighbour. Grrr, the smugness!!!

herbgarden · 17/04/2008 21:14

Mmmmm beanie - some people are just like that aren't they - my neighbour (who is quite sweet) did drop into the conversation the other day how she only has to "sneeze" and she's pregnant. Why do people have to tell you that I wonder?!! Isn't it just a little bit smug . I did feel the urge to punch her.....didn't think it'd be neighbourly.

beaniesteve · 17/04/2008 20:56

ClairLesley - I used cheapie internet strips and they have worked but one month I didn't get a line at all so I bought a CBFM and this is my first month using them. I think the CBFM sticks are fairly cheap but only if your monitor is asking for 10 sticks a cycle, which sometimes takes a couple of cycles before it happens.

herbgarden - I had a similar thing with my BF, had to explian to him that there's only a small window in a cycle to aim for

Hope your friend has success. My best friend seems to fall pregnant at the drop of a hat (or knickers ) and has 3 children.

Lottie sorry AF got you, you have such a great positive attitude on this thread, keep it up !!

Clair I have the ovulation sticks off the internet and last month had two positives when I used them in the evening about 8pm....I always used the digitals but found them really expensive and got a bit disheartened by a lack of smiley face and another lot of quid down the drain....I peed in a little plastic sample pot and followed the instructions of keeping it in for 5/6 secs - I think it's fairly clear when you get the two lines. I honestly can't remember which company I got them from but did a google search for them.

on the bding front - I'd love to say that DH has always been as interested but it took him a while to come round to the idea that it wouldn't be happening the first month (ds was a very quick first month so he doesn't quite understand how it really works....I did try to warn him that a quick first doesn't necessarily equal a quick second....if a second at all and that a lot of effort is required ) - he's slowly cottoned on !

I was chatting to a really good friend of mine last week who has been "trying" for about 4 years to conceive. She's had some tests but never really thought of temping. I mentioned what I was doing and have packed her off to get a digital thermometer and steered her towards fertility friend.com.... I really hope she gets a bfp soon - It's hard for her with all of us around her with small dc's but I was trying to see if there was any stone unturned with her !!.....I'm surprised no-one has suggested it before but she is often working away and finds bding at the right time quite difficult - so this also might help in isolating the "right" times and also highlight if there are any ovulation issues ( I think she's had blood tests for that though....). I really hope it helps her - fingers crossed !

Property Ladder was good....I love it....although was amused by the hypnotherapist wife who thought she could hypnotise her husband to enable him to do the full construction job on their house
