BFP after first failed IVF? What the actual F

Helloo - husband (38) and I (31) TTC for 2+ years with not a single positive. Laparoscopy diagnosed twisted tubes, stage II Endo and low AMH (8). Both always been healthy, fit, no illnesses etc. So, obviously been feeling very angry with the situation.
Last cycle was our first round of IVF and a fresh transfer (22 eggs, 14 fertilised, 1 grade A embryo put in, with 5 in the freezer)- it failed with no answers. Now, the first cycle after the IVF, I find myself with faint lines at 15DPO, which seems rather late. Ovulated CD19/20 (definitely). I usually have 10/11 day luteal phases and no AF has shown, just spotting. Could these be evap lines?
I’m obviously in total denial because we were told it just probably won’t happen naturally for us. Scared of ectopic as well. Absolutely mind blown. Any words of advice? I don’t know what to think.

@pippabg Thank you 🥹 just over 2 years isn’t long for a lot of people, I know. But with the twisted tube diagnosis, we’ve been conceived it would never happen naturally. The rollercoaster of emotions my husband and I have been on has been far too much. So, this really does feel like a miracle. Maybe it really is our time. And to find out on Easter Sunday… what irony 😂😂

@RedMark Such an inspiring story! Thank you for sharing. I agree - bodies are bizarre. I still don’t quite understand it. I’m going in for HCG bloods tomorrow and scan booked for 6 weeks. We’ll see if it really is a huge Easter miracle.

@GoldenRetriever1
Congratulations, I had 4 miscarriages, was due to start ivf and the month before found out I was pregnant, it resulted in my now 16m old, praying this is your wee miracle baby, are bodies can do funny things.

slapmyarseandcallmemary · 02/04/2024 10:01

Aw that's so amazing!!

RedMark · 02/04/2024 09:54

Congrats, op. Bodies are funny things. We had our first through icsi (male factor infertility). Urologist told us we'd need icsi again for a second. 2 months before our first try for a sibling, we got pregnant. He's now 14 months old and I have two healthy wild boys who I was told in 2019 I may never have.

So big congratulations 🎉

pippabg · 02/04/2024 09:30

This is amazing news! Congrats! I can tell you deserve this! I totally understand why you're staying cautious until you see a scan - I would too! But for now, let's celebrate what you didn't think was possible - a step further than you've ever been before!

DoreenonTill8 · 02/04/2024 08:50

Oh wonderful wonderful news @GoldenRetriever1 !! I've just speed read the thread with heart in mouth and awoken my baby with a squeal!! So happy for you!

concreterose31 · 02/04/2024 08:46

Congratulations! This is amazing! Reminds me of my journey, 3 years ttc never had a positive, 1st round of ivf failed, 2nd booked for the 20th of September found out I was pregnant naturally on the 16th, pregnancy ended up being twins which will be 2 in a few week.

I remember my having pre- procedure meeting and the doctors reeling off the usual information I kept trying to interrupt to tell them I am pregnant but they kept saying, “give us a moment” lol 15 minutes in when I finally told them they were so confused we all started laughing.

Praying for smooth, safe and enjoyable pregnancy for you, after so much disappointment it’s normally to feel quite anxious about it all! But trying to enjoy and soak it all in as much as you can!

ittakes2 · 02/04/2024 08:43

Congratulations this is great news! Maybe the laparoscopy helped create a path for an egg to move down. Having the IVF tricked your body into thinking you were pregnant - I have heard that the chances of getting pregnant shortly after an IVF are higher.
I had IVF and a short luteal phase as well. I am guessing the clinic will put you on progestogen to keep your womb lining developing. Make sure you check this with the clinic.

veronicaaa · 02/04/2024 08:42

Ohhh Congratulations!!! I am in the same boat!

I was meant to start my IVF injections last Tuesday, AF did not arrive… 2 x BFP and a blood test confirmation later and it still has not sinked in. Nature works in mysterious ways!! I have my scan booked on the 18th, I don’t think I will really believe it until I see it haha!

All my fingers and toes are crossed for you, good luck!

bravotango · 02/04/2024 08:38

Oh wow congratulations op - wishing you all the best!

NOTANUM · 02/04/2024 08:33

GoldenRetriever1 · 02/04/2024 08:29

@Babyenroute Thank you. You’ve got this - never lose faith. I’ve been writing “unwavering faith” on the shower door every morning for the last week. Call me crazy 😝😂

@IsThisIt2021 Thank you 🥹 who knows what will happen. I hope this at least gives hope to everyone else who has had unexplained failed IVF. My body has done something I didn’t ever think it could do. 🙏🏼

Babyenroute · 02/04/2024 08:15

Congratulations! This is so lovely to see. No story to tell yet but trying naturally after IVF so this is giving me hope that it might be possible

MrsJellybee · 02/04/2024 08:01

Hello… four failed IVFs here. Gave up. Pregnant naturally two years later. Couldn’t believe it. Early scan at 6+2. Saw heartbeat. She’s now nine-and-a-half snoring upstairs.

Wishing you all the luck in the world

FlowerBarrow · 02/04/2024 07:45

Whatever you do don’t be tempted to have the scan sooner than 6+ weeks, fetal pole is unlikely to be detected and then you’d be in even more limbo. If you can bear it I would wait for 6+3

Twdfn123 · 02/04/2024 07:38

That's fantastic!!!! I hope this one sticks for you xxx
