Thought it was time we had a new home, seeing as we've almost outgrown the old one. So in honour to Scorpio, Sybil, BB and toomuch (hope I didn't forget anyone ) here we are - in the company of pregnant (and cheerful) ladies

Oh Gilly I'm sorry you're not feeling positive and also hoping that you're wrong! As you say, at least you've got your IVF appointment soon.

Nomore Thanks for bumping us out of oblivion! How are you?

I'm ok - got an appointment through for my dating scan today - 2 weeks away (will be 13 weeks then). Just want to wish away the next couple of weeks and then hopefully we'll be able to start telling people!

Big wave to everyone else!

Gilly - so far so good I was in Gib a few weeks back met my grandparents off their cruise ship for lunch and stocked up on British things for DS

mistlethrush · 23/09/2008 12:23

First scan with Ds at 6wks (or 6+1) - all we saw was whopping great heartbeat!

At 9wks, ds wouldn't keep still - nurses called him a boogie baby. Same true now - very difficult to keep his bottom on the chair at mealtimes. Quite into boogieing as well!

BTW, I had an extra set of tests and scan privately - effectively risk testing - for me this was very reassuring - and, if, heaven forbid, that there was anything wrong I would have wanted to know about it sooner rather than later.

hobnobs · 23/09/2008 10:32

Gilly I am proof that lack of symptoms doesn't mean no BFP, even after the two week wait so please don't worry about that.

Mistlethrush I had my first scan at 6+3 - the doctor certainly saw the heartbeat and I suspect if I'd looked more closely, I might have been able to, I was just so relieved everything was ok that I took his word for it. Last week with the second scan, I had a different doctor and she zoomed in a lot more so everything was much larger scale and she pointed out moving hands and feet. Good luck with the apron

Gilly - fingers crossed!

Hobnobs - when was it that you didn't see hb? Ds's was visible at 6wks - but we were in the acu so that they had really sensitive equipment - I think that our scan was delayed as they had a whole lot of IVF type scans to do first...

No more bumped heads so far. Ds has given me an extra week to sort out the 'personalisation' of his lunch apron - I am allowed to do it next weekend - I couldn't do the required flower and buzzy bee last weekend - I didn't think it would look right with navy blue stripes over the yellow and can't find any black cotton...

MrsMcJnr · 21/09/2008 00:14

Gilly - everything crossed for you hon xxx

hobnobs · 18/09/2008 15:25

Gosh, I haven't posted for ages. Firstly, excellent news Gilly Really good size follices (better than mine were) and your DH's motility was excellent. Keeping everything crossed for you over the next couple of weeks. Take it easy!

Mistlethrush Glad that DS has enjoyed school - hope there have been no more bumps on the head!

Toomuch Not long to go now I can't believe how fast these last few months have gone.

Big wave to Scorpio, Ready (has anyone heard from her?) Nomore and Sybil.

I had my second scan at the clinic this morning (and am now discharged from there). All is well and I could even see the heartbeat (rather than just trusting the doctor it was there like last time!) I also had my first appointment with the midwife yesterday. They've just introduced a dating scan between 11-14 weeks in this area (otherwise next scan would have been anomaly scan at 18-21 weeks which feels a long way off at the moment). Still no significant nausea so guess I've been lucky though I can sleep for England and am an expert in lethargy

Ds has started school as he means to go on - I had to call him back on his first day for a hug and a kiss and he dashed off back into the classroom. Yesterday my mother (on granny duties) was greeted by the teacher saying that he'd not been good - he was rushing about all morning in a tiz and managed to knock his friend over - friend has large bump. I had to ring and apologise to friend's mother, and ds has gone in with strict words spoken and hopes that he will make his teacher smile this morning. On to full days next week - shorter on Friday as I think that he will be shattered by then!

However, another mother was having to prise her son off and leave him howling - I'm so glad that this wasn't me!

Gilly - what news?

Toomuch - 5 weeks! where did all the time go?

nomoremagnolia · 11/09/2008 11:53

toomuch Glad you liked them and that they arrived safely. Sorry it took me so long to remember to post them

Yes, at least I have one wonderful ds. Who is counting down the days to go to his new school instead of nursery! Mind you, I think we would have adopted by now if he hadn't come along anyway....

Dh isn't participating which doesn't exactly help. We've got him a new bike and he is intending to commute by bike from soon after ds starts school. Riding home from the bike shop nearly killed him. Hopefully this will make him a bit fitter, a bit slimmer and more in the mood (after he has got over the initial hell of course [evil])

Managed to weigh ds at the vets (dh was lol at this when I told him - I thought it was sensible as dog was being weighed, nice accurate scales and ds there anyway) - 18.8kg -dressed. Not surprisingly I am developing very good muscles! Pity that you can't see enough of them at the moment. Must get back onto the wagon (any good tips Scorpio?)

PiggyPenguin · 29/08/2008 17:26

Hello all. Fantastic news that all is going well Hobnobs.

Toomuch, when is baby toomuch actually due?

MT, I know what you mean about being thankful for what you have. It is hard to actually accept that something is not meant to be though, and even harder to not be sad/cross/envious about it. When I desperately wanted a third and we had the mc I told myself these things but it never really helped. Then we just got very very lucky. Fingers crossed you will too.

hobnobs · 29/08/2008 13:44

Quick message to send big hugs to Mistlethrush You really have had a bad time with TTC, haven't you.

I know what you mean about seeing others around you with 2,3 or 4 children, while you're struggling to get off the starting block or have a second . Years ago, when I was very young, I thought that by the time I was 40 I'd have had 4 children (not sure DH would have been quite so keen though!) Now, I'm hoping that everything will go smoothly and we'll have one and see what happens after that - we'd both like another if we can.

Hello to Toomuch Hope you're keeping well. I had a scan yesterday at the clinic - 6 weeks 3 days and all is well . Despite telling me that he might not be able to find it, the doctor picked up the heartbeat. Only one (I think in a way DH wouldn't have minded two , to give us a chance to catch up with others, but in reality this is much more manageable and we're both just relieved that the IUI has worked first time and very grateful). It was the same doctor who had been monitoring my HCG levels and he said the low results at the start were probably just due to late implantation. Hindsight is a wonderful thing

toomuchtimeonline · 28/08/2008 10:50

Just popping in... I seem to have slipped into a time warp - where I sleepwalk through the week and before I know it is Sunday again and I've achieved nothing...

Hobnobs - really pleased everything is going so well - put your feet up and chill

MT - how are you doing? Where abouts are you in the TTC stakes - is dh partaking in his side of events or have you properly given in trying?

Scorps - well done on the weightloss! You'll have to give me some tips in a few months time

Sybil - can't believe Jamie is 11 weeks already - it doesn't seem like 2 mins ago you were announcing the pregnancy like hobnobs.. time flies doesn't it..

Gilly - hope you've had a good time up in Scotland! Babytoomuch is still cooking well (I think..) - he feels huge now!

Nomore - How's things chuck?

Ready - hope everything is ok .. you've been a bit quiet of late..

anyway toodle-pip for now

xx

mistlethrush · 27/08/2008 09:16

Hobnobs hurrah! Fantastic news - do take it easy.

I've more or less resigned myself to be a single child family... Not had a good sucess rate (1/4) and also managed to have to have chemo and become allergic to painkillers as a result of two of mc, so not really sure what would happen next time. Money would also be tight - which is, I think, why dh is put off - I just think that we'll get by if it happens, but not holding out any hope. Been away on music course for a week and another couple there who got married after we had already started ttc have just arrived with their 4th child which makes me very - any everywhere I go I seem to see people with either 2 children or a child and a bump...

hobnobs · 26/08/2008 16:34

Scorpio Very impressed (and a bit )with your weight loss, particuarly the stamina on the exercise bit! Kept meaning to lose a few pounds while I was TTC but each time I lost one or two, they came back a week or two later!

Still no morning sickness (not complaining)but some other symptoms seem to be starting (made a shepherd's pie last night - it smelt awful!) and very tender (.)(.) first thing in the morning. I am obviously a late developer Thanks for the ginger biscuits and mints tip Sybil

Hope everyone had a good Bank Holiday weekend. We were very lazy though I had a few bits and pieces to do around the house, nothing too strenuous. Gilly Hope the new job is still going well and the honeymoon period's not over yet! You must be due to start your next cycle of IUI in a couple of weeks?

scorpio1 · 25/08/2008 20:19

11 weeks

Mimi is coming up 19.... will be ready for weaning soon!

Stokke Sleepi coming next week

Also have been on a diet and lost 7lbs in 2 weeks! Just eating no rubbish, 30 mins - an hour exercise 6 days a week (on wii fit and walking)and choosing low fat foods. Going to loose a little more, then ease off.

PiggyPenguin · 25/08/2008 20:16

Fantastic news Hobnobs, but Scorpio is right, unless you are very lucky you are going to be exhausted soon so take things easy - and get soon ginger biscuits and mints in just in case morning sickness strikes!

Hi to everyone else, where are you all at the moment? Jamie is 11 weeks old this week. Where has that time gone?

scorpio1 · 21/08/2008 12:31

Soon you will get very tired, so exhausted, etc. You MUST rest!
