Thought it was time we had a new home, seeing as we've almost outgrown the old one. So in honour to Scorpio, Sybil, BB and toomuch (hope I didn't forget anyone ) here we are - in the company of pregnant (and cheerful) ladies

hi everyone

hope you are all well we have got thrush again but im trying hard to carry on.

Just got told yesterday my mate got pg in first cycle seems so unfair sometimes, my 6 months felt like forever ....tis her third as well, she will have 3 under 4.

nomoremagnolia · 25/05/2008 15:29

Gilly It's lovely - I didn't get up til about an hour ago!! I have been knitting in front of the telly, I can't just sit and do nothing anymore! I haven't been doing too well on the drinking water thing - only been managing about 1 litre a day, but I read somewhere that all fluids count, so if I you can add 4 cups of tea to that total I might be on about 2 litres? I knitted a save the children hat last night in hot pink (the wool I bought for the soles of Millie's boots)
I think Clomid might have made my period a bit shorter I can't really remember exactly, sorry. I know it made my cycles shorter (27/28 days instead of 29-31)

I'm so slobbed out I can't be ar$ed to go to bed! Was going to try and go to bed early tonight, but I've just seen the time. Guess I'd better try to drag myself off upstairs...night night

Nomore hope thing continue well - have a lovely slobby weekend!

hobnobs · 24/05/2008 18:07

Gilly Wishing you all the best with the Clomid and treatment next week - not long now! Thanks for agreeing to answer any questions - will have a think nearer the time. (Had a letter postponing our NHS appointment by another week in August so quite glad I've got something closer now!) I had a quick look at what you did on your first appointent and saw you had a baseline scan - not something which was mentioned when I saw the specialist before so hopefully they'll be able to do it at the ACU. Because of holidays, the earliest we'd be able to start any treatment would be July anyway.

Nomore Glad your follices are growing properly! Best of luck next week - will be thinking of you.

Hello to everyone else. [happy]

nomore, am lurking, and spying on you... although am not a very good spy as I have just told you!

hi everyone! gilly, good luck

nomoremagnolia · 23/05/2008 15:38

gilly Is that NH101? I 'knew' her on the Clomid thread too. can't believe she's had the twins already - I was taking Clomid at the same time as her
Had my ovaries scanned this morning - all looks well my eggs are growing as they should - looks like at least 9 follicles are over 10mm (they want them to get to 18/19mm before they're 'ready' for collection) Got another scan on Mon am to see if they're ready then.

Hey all, thanks for the good wishes. I am starting to feel more normal although tired. It is now such an effort to turn over in bed at night, still hopefully only three more weeks to go.

Gilly - good luck for the clomid. One of the women on my due in june thread conceived with clomid. Although she has just given birth to twins...

Love to everyone else. Hope you have a great bank holiday weekend.

Well, CD1 for me so have bitten the bullet (mmm, just looked up the origin of that phrase - apparently it dates back to when soldiers were given bullets to help them endure the pain in the days before anaesthetics!) and booked an appointment at UCH ACU on 9th June Now I just need to get hold of all our test results (they recommended them I bring them with me rather than ask the hospital to forward them and risk them getting lost ) Gilly I may well be back to pick your brains!

Sybil Hope that baby is staying put!

Nomore Hope you're not too bruised by the injections.

Ready If you're lurking, hope the new job is going well.

Hello to everyone else.

mistlethrush · 21/05/2008 10:14

Glad you're feeling a bit better Sybil - take it easy!

nomoremagnolia · 20/05/2008 19:52

Fab news of makecakes/flosspot Will go and track her down
Stay where you are for the time being babyvimes We want your mummy to have a homebirth.

OP posts:
PiggyPenguin · 20/05/2008 19:00

Hey guys, thanks for the hugs, I am starting to feel slightly better. Saw the mw today and baby vimes is 3/5 engaged! Its very exciting but he's not allowed to come for a little while as then I won't get my homebirth.

Also, not sure if you have seen it elsewhere but Makecakes is on my due in thread and she had a little girl on Sunday - very very exciting!

Hello to everyone else and good luck with all the injections

hobnobs · 20/05/2008 12:40

Nomore Hope the injections are still going ok. Makes me a bit squeamish just thinking about it but I know that certainly DH wouldn't want to do them. You're right, Ready is lovely!

Gilly Thanks for the run-down of IUI. Now that all our tests are done, I tried to bring forward our next appointment from August last week - the only thing they could offer me was in July when we're on holiday . Though they did say that I could try again each week, not particularly optimistic and am keen to get a move on. Had a chat to DH at the weekend and agreed that I'd contact the ACU at UCH and see if we can self-refer privately. It was likely that we'd ask the consultant to refer us there (privately) anyway as they've got a good record with older women but I'm hoping that they'll still be able to get hold of all the tests we've done - don't want to start again. Just waiting for CD1 - due any time now - before I pluck up the courage to make the phone call! Not sure if this will take us out of the NHS loop or not.

Mistlethrush Lots of hugs. Hope that you get to the bottom of the problem soon.

Sybil Hope you're feeling better now.

Waves to everyone else.

nomoremagnolia · 19/05/2008 11:34

the injections really aren't that bad - I'm happier doing them to myself than getting DH to do it.

MT what you're going thorugh sounds horrid ((big hugs))
gilly are you taking the tablets or injections then? If you're injecting I recommend using ice to numb the area and it also reduces bruising too. I have done four injections so far and only one bruise (still there from the first injection) I have the same injection as you 36 hrs before egg collection, I have to do it myself at home exactly 36 hrs before op, so will probably be the middle of the night!

mistlethrush · 19/05/2008 08:33

Too many injections happening on this thread [shudder emoticon] but lets hope that they have positive outcomes Good luck with them all everyone!

Still feeling rather bleugh today and found out that reading a screen is not exactly ideal - seem to be having a problem moving my eyes quickly enough so focusing a bit woozy so that its making me feel queasy. Will definitely go back and find out why I feel so crap for so long after an episode and whether I can do anything to improve that. Will also find out whether they will test me for ibruprofen etc in the same way - would be nice to know that I do have some pain relief options!

Better go, got a busy week...
