@Sez281 they may weigh you on your dating one....so be prepared haha.. i like the oat cakes amd crackers. Was eating rosemary ones until i read thats a big no no 🤷‍♀️ your right about scans though, you get that 5minute high then reality kicks in.
@Paws4thought i did want to tag and ask how you were getting on but with no updates i didnt know if you were having time out, so plsd sez asked lol... what a bloody hard time your going through. Have you managed to see thr dr yet?

Paws4thought · 17/03/2024 12:14

@Sez281 thanks for checking in, I'm still in no man's land, scan showed retained tissue about 2cm, opted for tablets Friday and they literally did nothing, no cramps, no bleeding so going back today to speak to Dr, I'm assuming I'll be offered mva again now.
Hope you're feeling well.

@Supertrooper101 congratulations on getting over the 13 week milestone :)

DmcinT · 17/03/2024 12:02

@Sez281 ah thanks, happy paddy’s day to u too💚👒☘️🍀 we’ve a lovely day out planned so hopefully it all goes ok🤞🏽

I was on progesterone for that long because I had the cerclage (cervical stitch) in at 15 weeks so I would t say that’s the norm in fairness. Did they say 12 weeks to u?

Sez281 · 17/03/2024 09:29

@SnookyPook I've tried rice crackers and oat cakes the last few days and don't feel as bad for munching all the time now as not as many calories. How are you feeling? Did you meet midwife again?

@Supertrooper101 I lost a stone from my consultant appointment at the start of January up to m BFP at the end.. 2 weeks after positive I checked and had put it back on but too afraid to check again 🙈

@Westy22 I totally get it. The good news scan feeling lasts about 5 minutes and then the dread creeps back in 😣 I've got my Nipt bloods and scan on Tuesday and I'm so nervous for scan part. Had awful nightmares last few nights so obviously it's got into my subconscious. We just need to keep telling ourselves that as each day passes it get more hopeful 🙏

@Jadeypie hope you're doing ok?

@xxcxdonxx hope you finally hit your peak? 🤞

@Paws4thought I hope you're feeling ok and the lines have gotten lighter x

@DmcinT I can't believe you were on the progesterone for 28 weeks I mean if my consultant recommends it then I'll obviously do anything that helps but the thoughts of twice a day for that long! 😳

Happy St Patrick's day to you and little Mollaí and to all my fellow Irish women on here ☘️ ☘️☘️

@Sez281 I feel ur pain, I was on the progesterone until 28 weeks and I deff think it ramped up my nausea. I think I’d kinda just gotten used to always feeling sick but I was still retching and getting sick until the very end🙈 the only saving grace is I can confirm it’s all so so worth it🥰

@Westy22 i was also on iron with low levels (what was I not taking throughout that pregnancy 😅) I found it made me quite constipated but found one coffee in the morning or pure orange juice/ oranges helped loads❤️

I cannot wait to see all ur little baba updates in a few short months 🥹

Westy22 · 16/03/2024 10:47

Morning everyone hope your all doing well! Just catching up lol

Congrats on getting to 13 weeks ❤️ @Supertrooper101 you feeling more confident about it now? X

Anxiety is starting to ramp up yet again for me and its still 9 days for the next scan 🤣 wouldn't say any real symptoms atm, 6+2 and other than tiredness everything else is minimal. I've started taking more iron as my levels before pregnancy were already indicating they were a bit low and I've read it won't do any harm. Still getting aches that are possibly my bowels tbh. Wishing the days away for my next bit of reassurance lol fingers crossed 🤞x

Supertrooper101 · 15/03/2024 08:56

@Sez281 ok makes me feel better if youve put alot of weight on too haha. The morning sickness can be 24/7 not just morning, for a couple weeks i had to take snacks up to bed with me cos i was too sick, drained to go down during the night. It does say wk 9 is the worse so your on track lol

SnookyPook · 15/03/2024 08:46

@Sez281 yeah I'd say that's all you. I've had minimal symptoms this pregnancy throughout despite progesterone pessaries. Think they just clogged me up 😂 I had bad nausea (though luckily never vommed!) with my DS and it's so draining isn't it. And yeah, carbs/beige food was the only thing that helped. I remember having aversions to fruit and veg too and feeling so guilty! Haha. Not had any of that this time. With my DS I did find rice crackers were sometimes a good low cal way of hitting the spot - just nibbling them slowly.

@xxcxdonxx love how we're all encouraging you to go rogue! But hey, it's worked for a couple of these ladies and you've nothing to lose! 🤞🏼💕

Sez281 · 15/03/2024 08:32

@xxcxdonxx 100% do your own treatment plan. 75mg from 3DPO won't do any harm. Look at me, if I hadn't gone rogue I wouldn't be where I am today 🤷‍♀️😂 I do think your issue is definitely the "sticky blood" thing so hopefully between the progesterone and baby aspirin it'll stick 🙏

@Supertrooper101 I'm on 2x400mg. I guess I have actual morning sickness then and it's not just a pessary side effect..I am trying not to complain as I realise how lucky I am but god it has really ramped up in the last week😣. The tiredness & digestive cramps I could manage but now the constant nausea is just so horrendous 😣. (I feel so bad even writing or thinking it as I'm genuinely so happy to be where I am so and I'm sorry if it comes across as insensitive to others 😢)

Also I think carbs are pretty essential during this time (toast and crackers are my staple) and I'd say I've put on double what you have @Supertrooper101. Hopefully in a few weeks "normal" feeding service can resume.

Supertrooper101 · 15/03/2024 08:04

@SnookyPook i was thinking of weaning off too , my head seems to accept that better lol never asked about the placenta and they didnt mention it.
@Sez281 800mg?? You like, popping 4 up a day or are they 400mg each? Symptons were BAD really bad up till around 11wks i thinks.now its more if you dont eat youl feel it lol i was carb free before tho so ive already put on a stone 🤦‍♀️... buggers need to stop weighing me lol are you having nausea and fatigue? I wouldnt put that down to the pessaries lol
@xxcxdonxx tbh, if youve gone by the book on ttc and listened to the drs and still got no where, i think its a good call to make your own plan up lol you taking anying for the ovarys? They maybe need a kick start. Follicles and eggs etc etc ha

xxcxdonxx · 15/03/2024 07:41

Thanks @Sez281 , that’s similar to what I’ll do but start the aspirin from 3dpo too I think. I’ll just decide my own treatment plan 😂
Still awaiting my positive opk, I’m CD16 so it has better get a move on!

@SnookyPook amazing not to have to be on the pessaries anymore, that’s a win!

SnookyPook · 14/03/2024 22:30

@Sez281 😂😂

@Supertrooper101 it was my bonus scan at 14wks (after my bleed) that they mentioned it. I'd asked at the last couple and at the 12wk one they were still saying it was too early to see it properly. At 14wks on the dot they said it was there and looking good. And my consultant had already talked through the progesterone until 16wks being a precaution to ensure placenta had fully taken over. He did halve my dose though from 12weeks to just one pessary per day rather than 2. So I felt a bit like I'd been weaned off it too which helped psychologically I think!

Haha it is crazy. Think more Mums than not class as geriatric these days! 😂

Sez281 · 14/03/2024 21:50

@xxcxdonxx Yep I started progesterone at 3DPO (only 200mg back then) then as soon as I got BFP I started 800mg progesterone and 75mg baby aspirin (I have a feeling they'll up the dosage to 150mg when I meet the consultant at 12 week scan. How many dpo are you now?

@Supertrooper101 yay for 13 weeks 🙌 If 30+ is considered old then I dread to think what we are! 🙈 Are you having any symptoms? I'm trying to tell myself that mine are progesterone related and as soon as I come off it they will ease but like that I'm a bit afraid to even think about stopping just in case 😕 Totally jealous of the no more gooey knickers anymore though @SnookyPook 😂😂

OP posts:
Supertrooper101 · 14/03/2024 18:59

@xxcxdonxx av got 150mg (2x75mg)... the more you read on aspirin the more there is yeah. No idea what should be done tbh, some it works pre 12wks, others causes problem.. its a tough one. I like the theory around it tho.
@SnookyPook am like that with the progesterone, abit nervous lol what week was you when they mentioned the placenta? Was the 12wk one today yeah. Midwife few wks back said over 30 is classed as old lol and one today was just as negative... some of em are shits arnt they lol

SnookyPook · 14/03/2024 18:14

@Supertrooper101 woohoo to 13wks!! 😍 Was that your official 12wk scan then? Also, was expecting higher risk at combined screening but came back low. Not sure what age the higher risk comes in (I'm 38)? Yeah I stopped the progesterone at 16wks. Was slightly nerve-wracking but also knew from my last scan that placenta was looking good so that helped. Must say, it's been nice not having to do it every day and not having gooey knickers anymore 😂😂😂

xxcxdonxx · 14/03/2024 16:56

Yes to 13 weeks!! @Supertrooper101 I can only dream of getting that far at the moment.
So much conflicting advice, what dose of aspirin have you been prescribed?

@Sez281 just going back to basics this month and wanted to check something with you. Did you start your progesterone 3 days after your peak opk but aspirin at a bfp?

Supertrooper101 · 14/03/2024 16:44

@Sez281 still got my guard up lol been stressing all day about the scan. Still got a headache now! but thankfully went ok. Was a trainee doing it aswell so took ages but was nice. So 13wks approx 😍 . Said my bloods for the testing will come back high due to my age. Cheers love lol gave me a prescription for the aspirin and said id already got one and she was annoyed i had already started it.....it came from there clinic lol
@SnookyPook if your still anxious, am doomed lol are you still on the progesterone or did that stop at 16wks?

Sez281 · 13/03/2024 09:14

@xxcxdonxx I know what I'm you mean it is a bit of a strange feeling 🙈 but as you say whatever works 🤞

@SnookyPook that's reassuring that it's so distinctive and you know you've felt something.. hopefully as each day passes you'll feel more 🤞 I can't wait to hopefully feel something, that's a long way off yet though!

@Supertrooper101 how are you doing? Feeling a bit more positive at this stage I hope? X

@Westy22 sounds like your symptoms are properly starting now. I thought I'd got away with mild enough ones that I found manageable between weeks 6-8 but since I've hit 9 weeks they've proper ramped up, I have to keep reminding myself how blessed I am to be in this position and I obviously wouldn't change it for the world but it is a struggle 😣

Yeah I'm hoping by 16/17 weeks I'll be in the much better place that I keep reading about comes in the 2nd trimester 🙏, also May is a good time to go as it isn't too hot. I loved the break away for a few days last month so figure it'll be a nice distraction from everything 🤞

Thanks for your support everyone.
@xxcxdonxx that's good to know thanks, maybe it'll just take slightly longer, last time I had the negative by 3 weeks and was slightly further along so thought this time would be quicker not longer.

xxcxdonxx · 12/03/2024 20:38

@Sez281 ive only used it once so far. I didn’t feel very nice using it but I’ll use a bit less next time and see how we go, if it does the trick then I’m all for it 🤣

A holiday sounds a great idea, some sunshine and change of scenery will be great for you and help to pass some of the time in between scans.

Those little kicks are so strange but so lovely to feel @SnookyPook , I’m sure it won’t be long before you recognise them for certain.

It’s horrible waiting for that line to fade @Paws4thought with my last it was 4 weeks before it had fully gone. It’s going in the right direction though so not too much longer hopefully and great that epau will see you this week.

Glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better @Westy22 Enjoy all the snacks and rest when you can 🥰

Westy22 · 12/03/2024 19:19

Thinking of you @Paws4thought it's an awful wait, glad you managed to get through to EPU though and hopefully they will be able to check everything is as it should be and maybe it's just taking some time. X

I can imagine how the anxiety ramps up @SnookyPook definitely get the doppler, every little bit of reassurance is needed I think ❤️ hopefully you'll start to feel baby move more clearly very soon x

Love the idea of planning a holiday @Sez281 sounds good, you've nearly hit a big milestone which must feel amazing 💓

I feel like I'm slowly settling down in terms of anxiety and the nausea is starting to kick in...I dry heaved on the way to work this morning for absolutely no reason 🙈 all I want to do is eat and sleep. Sure the nerves will kick in in a week or so when I know I have to go back to epu 🙈

Supertrooper101 · 12/03/2024 16:21

@SnookyPook i wish i had wrote stuff down with my other 2 feeling them etc. I remember the first 'bubbles' type feeling, just no idea when it was lol... online days loads dosent it lol from 14 wks onwards. But all depends how many uv had, your frame, like you say, where there positioned etc. Exciting but so desperste to feel it lol i thought you migjt have booked a private scan tbh lol but for the doppler, nxt best thing.
@Paws4thought i thought you had haf another postive then 🙁.. that had gone on abit hasnt it. Its awful what we have to.go through. When we thing its over and a fresh start. Theres somthing else. Am pleased there seeing you friday though.
@Sez281 getting your holidays in while you can haha.

SnookyPook · 12/03/2024 15:53

@Sez281 yep, 18wks! Movements might be felt from around 18wks onwards - possibly even earlier if not your first child. With my son I felt them at 19wks - it was really reassuring as it was just coming up to my 20wk scan and helped my nerves sooo much to be feeling him! The strong ones that others can feel were from around 25wks I think for me. It also depends on where your placenta is and baby's position etc. I think they say if you've not felt anything by 24-25 weeks then contact them for a check so there is a wide range of normal!

It's quite a distinctive feeling though which is why I'm pretty certain I have felt them on occasion but its not currently regular or strong enough to have me completely convinced... I'm still questioning what I'm feeling. Haha. It's exciting though! I just want to be more certain about it because I feel that will take another layer of anxiety away.

Ah Spanish holiday sounds lush. And I think that's a good time to travel. As I am right now I'd feel good for going away (and would welcome the distraction and chance to relax!). And as you say, for most people the worst of the symptoms have gone at that point but not yet too big and uncomfortable etc!

Sez281 · 12/03/2024 15:29

@xxcxdonxx hopefully you hit peak soon 🤞 did you try the preseed stuff?

@SnookyPook so you're 18 weeks now? I'm totally clueless but when should you normally start feeling movements but I thought it wouldn't be until like 20+ weeks. I should really start researching this stuff! 🙈 I would definitely be getting onto that midwife to try the Doppler again, she wouldn't have offered if she didn't want you to call and take her up on it, hopefully it will give some reassurance until the big scan 🙏xx

So I'll only actually be 11+5 at my 12 weeks appointment on the 25th but I think that was the only day they could fit me in. Will be booking, bloods and scan all in same day. The next one will hopefully be week 16. I've decided to go to Spain with my OH between 16 and 20 week scan as it's such a gap I figure it will be a nice distraction and also hoping that my nausea, cramps and tiredness will have well passed at that stage! 🙏

Sez281 · 12/03/2024 15:22

@Paws4thought Oh I'm so sorry, that's so frustrating and no doubt upsetting 😢 I'm glad they've agreed to scan you next week if they haven't gotten any lower. I do agree that it's heading in the right direction but it's so slow I can only imagine how frustrating it is 😣 xx
