Congratulations @Sez281 and welcome to the world baby Sophie ❤️

Paws4thought · 03/10/2024 07:32

@Sez281 so glad she's here safe and sound!! She sounds a good weight too. Enjoy all your cuddles xxx

Westy22 · 03/10/2024 07:06

Ahhhh congratulations @Sez281 I've been waiting for your update 😍 what a lovely weight too. So glad everything went okay in the end xxx

xxcxdonxx · 03/10/2024 06:40

@Sez281 ive been checking in for this update! Huge congratulations, this is just wonderful news. I’m so delighted for you.
I’m so pleased that she is here safe and well and that you are now getting to enjoy all of those lovely snuggles with her. Hope you are doing well xx

Sez281 · 03/10/2024 06:29

Hi all, Baby Sophie was born Tuesday night at 11.20pm weighing 7lbs 8oz 💖🥹 (so not the huge baby we were expecting!) I went from being induced with a pessary to 24 hours later still nothing and talk of a section but after gel Tuesday afternoon it happened hard and fast. Waters went on their own at 10pm to being brought to labour ward at 11pm and delivering at 11.20pm in just 4 big pushes with no time for epidural or anything as she was in distress 😢 It still feels so surreal but absolutely besotted and can’t believe she’s finally here 🥹

Hope everybody else is doing well. Will catch up properly soon xx

@Sez281 hope you're doing well lovely! Thinking of you! 💗

@Supertrooper101 glad all is going well. Must be a bit extra daunting doing it solo but glad he's keen to be involved at least.

@Paws4thought that's really positive to see a heartbeat - especially after the bleeding. Hopefully means the progesterone can now do it's thing and get little one here safely.

@Westy22 you're definitely entitled to be slowing down a bit now! Don't know how you've kept on at that pace so long!!

@xxcxdonxx yes it must be really hard. Those sliding doors moment are always poignant anyway, but even more so when you're still waiting for your positive outcome. Hopefully the appointment in December will provide some renewed hope if nothing has happened by then. 💗

xxcxdonxx · 01/10/2024 06:31

@Paws4thought I know it’s still early days, but that’s a very positive start! Hope you are managing the wait for the next scan ok 💜
I’ve no other fertility appointments scheduled, I’m under recurrent miscarriage and their plan is the progesterone and blood thinners. I do have some kind of scan scheduled for 31st Dec but not really entirely sure that it’s for

@Supertrooper101 sorry things didn’t work out between you, you are super woman managing on your own.

@Westy22 hope you are getting the chance to relax a bit now. It can’t be easy being on your feet all day at work. 35 weeks, wowzers, not long to go!

Westy22 · 30/09/2024 13:49

Ahhh this is really positive ❤️ @Paws4thought I know you won't relax for a long time but it's a good start x

Paws4thought · 30/09/2024 13:30

Had a scan today, needed internal but there's a heartbeat 💓 trying to stay positive and hope it continues. Measured about 5+4 but I'm 6+2 but they said when it's early it's not that accurate 🤞
@Westy22 definitely get some rest in before little one arrives!

Westy22 · 29/09/2024 17:11

Good luck @Sez281 I cannot wait to hear your news that baby girl has arrived ❤️ must be so surreal knowing she will be here this coming week. We need lots of updates 😂

@xxcxdonxx don't loose hope it will be your time soon ❤️

@SnookyPook yeah I was thinking maybe 6/7lb baby...but we will see ha I know they can be a bit off with estimates. X

@Supertrooper101 ah I'm sorry things haven't worked out for you, atleast he's still there for baby. Omg don't tell me it's scary you've already got kids your ment to know what your doing 😂 nah I can imagine the anxiety that comes with a little human.

@Paws4thought Glad you got the progesterone, keeping everything crossed 🙏🙏

This week has been tough, I'm literally at a point that I know my body is telling me to slow down, so I'm going to try over the next few days to be more gentle on myself. I've been trying to sort out babys clothes etc but literally give up after an hour 😂 because I get so tired. My feet and ankles have been swelling more so trying to rest them when I can. 35 weeks tomorrow, starting to get alot of funny twinges so think baby is pushing down alot more now and I walk so slow 😂 hospital bag is getting packed next week then I'll relax lol

Paws4thought · 29/09/2024 15:41

@xxcxdonxx hopefully you will get your happy ending, just taking more time. Did you have any appt planned with fertility specialist?
@Supertrooper101 the timing are OK when I'm at home but at work I finish at 10 and start at 7 so pretty limited on timings, I'm sure it'll be fine, gotta do more than nothing.
Oh no, I thought it'd get easier the more you have haha, sorry to hear you're now single but glad he wants to be involved with her. Are the older siblings helping?

Supertrooper101 · 29/09/2024 09:55

@Paws4thought maybe mine was 400mg 🤔 u dont need to lay down for an hour or 2 lol if you want 12hrs inbetween just pop the night one in in the evening when you can lay out for abit after. Its all about letting it have time to absorb in before getting up. You will find your own routine so i wouldnt stress too much. I forget how scary a newborn is lol all the little things, is it normal, is something wrong, still just as anxious lol am single now (didnt pan out but his still there for her) so it makes it more difficult. Butttttt, you do what you have to 🤷‍♀️... 7th isnt too far away, look forward to your news on the day and hope they give you extra scans for reasurance.
@xxcxdonxx even tho you have 2 little uns it must still be hard. Dont give up x

xxcxdonxx · 29/09/2024 06:45

Thanks @SnookyPook , as lovely as it is to hear everyone’s news, and of course I want to, I’d be lying if I said it didn’t sting a little that it hasn’t happened for me. I often have thoughts about those sliding door type moments, I’d either have an almost 1 year old, 6month old or be heavily pregnant right now and it’s strange to think it hasn’t worked out that way.

@Paws4thought ah sorry to hear that you have had a bit of a scare but I’m glad that it’s resulted in progesterone for you! Nothing else to add that the ladies already have and I just take them at bed and first thing too so more like 8/9 hours apart.

@Sez281 i think it is very surreal knowing that it’s just a matter of days now for you. I hope you’ve had a nice weekend and looking forward to hearing your news. If she’s moved down further she must be desperate to meet you 🥰

Paws4thought · 28/09/2024 21:03

@Sez281 she sounds like she's getting ready to be born so hopefully it'll be a quick birth for you, I can imagine it's overwhelming especially after loss, I'm sure you'll make a fab mummy!
No they just checked cervix was closed and will scan next week, I've got a scan on 7th so it'll be then at the latest.
@Supertrooper101 yeah I'm hoping it's actually a good thing 🤞🤞 how are you settling back into having a new born?

I've got 400mg twice a day. Some days I'm up at 6am so wasn't sure if doses would be too close as pharmacist said to lie down for 1 - 2 hours after inserting 🙈 I will stock up on panty liners haha!

Supertrooper101 · 28/09/2024 19:03

@Paws4thought i am so plsd u habe finally got the progesterone! Think mine was 200mg twice a day. Put one in right before bed and another when you wake, try lay down like sez said and wear a panty liner lol they still come out abit lol try get it as high as you can. I was told my hematoma (which can cause bleeding) was the sack i think, sumat, embedding deep in the uterus.. so hopefully a good sign. Is your scan nxt week?
@Sez281 soooo close to holding your little girl. If your bodys ready it could be a quick induction, either way, as long as everythings ok, it dosent really matter how long it takes, your at the finish line 🙂
@Westy22 its meant to he half a lb per week so your little one seems fine. And remember, its all estimated lol

Sez281 · 28/09/2024 18:46

@Westy22 hope you're managing to get some rest this weekend. I agree that your measurements seem right on track so hopefully nothing to worry about 🤞

@xxcxdonxx there's definitely very little room left in there, the triage midwife reckoned she might have moved even lower (don't know how that's possible to be honest 🥴😂) hope the move etc is going well x

@SnookyPook I read another of your posts recently which spoke about upcoming dates and everything happening for a reason. It really resonated with me. 2023 baby would have been turning 1 next week so it's bitter sweet that this little one is coming along at the same time but maybe it was meant to be this way 🥹

@Supertrooper101 Hope the little one is settling in ok and you're getting some sleep!

@Paws4thought So sorry to hear you had a bit of a scare but so glad you've been prescribed progesterone! 🙌 Did they do a scan or take bloods? I was on 400mg twice a day (usually morning and bedtime) The truck is to keep your legs elevated for a few mins afterwards and wear a panty liner as they're a bit messy.

Well I'm going in on Monday but unlike a section there's no real time frame so it might take a few days until she's here. We're prepared for the long haul! 🫣 It's so surreal to be honest, we've waited so long and I'm so happy but weirdly I don't want this weekend to end, I just want to freeze time as it's such a massive change! I know it's good change and our little family is about to become 3 but it's quite overwhelming too 😅

OP posts:
Paws4thought · 28/09/2024 17:20

@Supertrooper101 i imagine the surgeon can make a huge difference 🙈
@Sez281 can't believe you've only got 2 sleeps left before meeting your little girl, are you excited?
@Westy22 you're always so busy, I don't know how you do it!!

I've had some pink discharge last couple of days and bright red last night which turned brown during today, not loads but still stressful.... epu saw me today, she said my cervix is closed and that it could be from placenta growing, I showed her a pic of bleed and she didn't seem concerned. Finally been prescribed progesterone!! Any tips for putting them in? Did you try to space yours 12 hours apart or just before bed then on waking?

SnookyPook · 27/09/2024 12:45

@Westy22 at Sammy was 3lbs12oz at 33+4 and 4lbs6oz at 35+4. Born at 5lbs7oz at 37wks. 👍🏼 Your little one seems on track to be about 7lbs13oz at 40wks? Perfect!

@Sez281 typical with the movement check! But definitely the best option! We had similar when I went in for reduced movements! Was like he started a disco in there 😂 Gosh exciting! Will be thinking of you on Monday 🥰 So exciting that another Babba is almost here!

@Paws4thought hope you're doing well lovely!

@Supertrooper101 hope life with little one is going well and you're starting to settle nicely into your new normal. ☺️

@xxcxdonxx sending big hugs and hope you're doing ok. Very conscious it must be a bit tough seeing all these rainbow babies arriving, especially with October coming round. I had a weird 'parallel lives' moment the other day when I realised it would be coming up to MMC baby's 1st birthday. So very surreal, and yet, now that Samuel is here, I can't imagine it being anyone other than him.

Love to all xx

xxcxdonxx · 26/09/2024 14:27

Oooh @Sez281 induction is on Monday, exciting!!!
I ended up in triage about a week or two before my due date with my wee boy, he was totally fine. Is there less room for them to move around at this stage, is that just a myth?

Glad to hear all is going well @SnookyPook . We had my little 6 week old niece over at thr weekend and you totally forget how tiny they are!

Hope you are doing ok in this wait time @Paws4thought , thinking of you.

You don’t do things by halves @Westy22 !! I’m sure they say it’s about 0.5lb a week so yours sounds totally fine.

Hope that you and little lady are doing well @Supertrooper101 xx

Westy22 · 26/09/2024 11:58

I'm knackered, heads frazzled this week....just in process of hopefully finalising our remortgage, spent all last night building flat pack furniture for nursery so didn't get to bed till after 11 and was up at 6am for work 💤 @Sez281 still waiting for MW to ring me regarding growth scan results on the advice of sonographer...not really sure why they've told me to speak to MW. Worked out babies put on approx 1lb 1oz since growth scan on the 6th September so 18 days, started to freak out that it didn't sound enough? 🙈 looks like it's plotting around 28th percentile on the graph but I'm no expert 🙈 dunno how when all I want is cake and chocolate 😂 @SnookyPook where was Sammy at weight wise at this point for you? (I was 34+1 at scan tuesday) xx

How do you feel about Monday @Sez281 are you ready 💖 so crazy that its nearly here for you x

Someone in a pregnancy group I'm in who was due the day before me had her baby yesterday 😱 totally freaked out at that thought, wasn't even planned she went naturally and baby is perfect and 5lb12.

Sez281 · 26/09/2024 11:40

@SnookyPook I'm doing ok thanks, on the final countdown for induction Monday. I actually ended up in triage last night for reduced movements but Murphy's law as soon as they hooked me up to the machine she was rolling around 🤷‍♀️ i just noticed the nicknames Sebby & Sammy.. too cute 🥰

@Supertrooper101 Ive been back and forth with the decision but yes am going to go with the induction for now... theres a very good chance i'll end up needing a section anyway but will
just play it by ear first. How are you doing? getting any sleep?!

@Westy22 Hope you're doing ok. You must be wrecked!

@Paws4thought I honestly think anybody that has been through recurring mc should be prescribed progesterone as a matter of course... Hope you're managing to keep busy in the wait for the scan xx

Supertrooper101 · 26/09/2024 07:49

@Paws4thought myne was planned lmao. Guess it depends on the surgeon and i never really listened to what was involved tbh. But so many ppl choose them so i guess its how you feel personally about them. 2 other ppl in rooms nxt to me were doing inductions which ended up in emergency sections which i bet isnt nice. Its all unexpected what could happen i suppose. Like snooky it was advised to do it for the saftey aspect rather than try natrual so in which case you just get on with it lol

Paws4thought · 25/09/2024 21:01

@SnookyPook it's good to hear different experiences, if I get that far I'd just go with whatever was safest for baby if given a choice :) glad your recovery has been good!

SnookyPook · 25/09/2024 19:42

@Paws4thought I was pleasantly surprised by my planned section and the recovery. I've never had surgery of any kind before and didn't really know what to expect. I think I was maybe expecting it to be worse than it was. In my case I had the section at 12.30pm and I managed to shuffle across the room and have a seated shower around 7pm. Kept on top of pain relief so was never in agony. Managed to mobilise a bit more each day. Didn't overdo it and was taken care of for the first week as had that prolonged stay in hospital. I think that was probably good for my recovery as wasn't trying to do too much or juggle looking after my other little boy. Admittedly compared to my vaginal delivery I was a bit more limited initially - not being able to use abdominal muscles much is the hardest part. But with my vaginal birth I had an episiotomy so still had discomfort and recovery to consider at home.

I think for me, it was just so much the right choice in terms of my mental health and wanting to ensure Samuel's safety that it was a relief and a positive thing. Whereas I can imagine it hitting differently and having a more negative psychological impact if you were very much hoping for a vaginal birth or had a different picture in your head of how you wanted it to go. As my section was planned, I was very 'present' at the birth. They lowered the curtain so I could see Samuel as they pulled him out (they don't show you your own innards though - not sure how I'd have felt about that 😂) and I felt very much part of it. For me, I didn't feel I'd had 'less' of a birth than I did with Sebby. But as I say, I was just so relieved to be getting him out safely and knowing that all was ok!

Sorry that was long 😂

Hope everyone is ok! @Sez281 how are things going?! 🥰

Paws4thought · 25/09/2024 13:27

@Supertrooper101 big difference in recovery then really, I guess a planned section would be less stressful than an emergency one tho.
