@Supertrooper101 thanks haha yes it's seeming a bit crazy now. From slowest 1st trimester in history to ridiculously fast 2nd and 3rd!!

@Sez281 thanks and wow - that's crazy about your friend! And reassuring - little man is supposedly 2lbs4oz at present so good to know others have thrived from less! It is anxiety inducing but I've had a bit more time to process now and realistically things are looking hopeful. Even if he were to come within the next week there would be high chances of him being fine so I need to focus on that and also, like you say, the fact we are being closely monitored hopefully reduces the likelihood of anything going too wrong at this point. I could have done without the added worry but it is what it is!! I need to remember how determined he's been to be here from the get-go, constantly taking me by surprise! No reason he'd stop now ☺️ He's currently moving lots as I type which is reassuring. Around midnight is definitely one of his favourite times for a good bodge round ☺️

Hope everyone else is ok? Who has appointments coming up etc? My next one is Tuesday now! I might have to start paying rent at the antenatal clinic soon. 😂

Sez281 · 31/05/2024 21:14

@Jadeypie glad the little lad is home and on the mend. Sorry to hear AF arrived but as you said it was the last thing on your mind at the moment! Funnily enough I also have a duplex kidney (was spotted in untrained sound when I was about 12) I think they're quite common, it hasn't really affected me in anyway so I'm sure his infection was just really bad luck 🤞 xx

Wow @SnookyPook no wonder you were a bit overwhelmed, that is so much to take in! It's so fantastic that they're clearly on top of everything though. As daunting as it sounds I'm sure everything will be fine. I agree with @Supertrooper101 that you should definitely try and rest as much as possible. Do online shopping, Make lists and delegate where possible. You're quite blessed to have a husband with a little insight into the whole thing, my OH is very level headed too which is calming.

In a way you're also lucky that you're armed with all this information and possible scenarios, I actually had a friend go in for a normal appointment years ago, I remember she was barely showing at the time (she was less than 28 weeks I think) anyway the next day we got a call to say she'd had a little girl, I think she weighed 1lb 10oz. That little girl is about to start secondary school and is thriving 🥹

I'm glad you've talked to your midwife about getting extra support. I know everybody telling you it's going to be fine probably isn't helpful and I've no doubt I'd be just as anxious if it was me. Hopefully all of this is just worst care scenario stuff though and you'll have loads more weeks to come xx

Hi All .. we had our latest growth scan today (ha @Supertrooper101 they've been every two weeks lately).. Baby is fine but some slowing of overall growth rate. Now going to have bi-weekly (!!) scans from next week of blood flow etc and my next growth scan in a fortnight as previously booked in. At the next growth scan, if similar pattern, it may be that they would be looking to get him out around 33/34wks...! However, it is still completely up in the air and there is a chance his growth picks up again in which case we would be aiming for probably delivery around 37/38 wks. In either scenario it's all sounding ridiculously close and a bit overwhelming (yes - I'll be 30wks on Monday).

They also stressed I need to be straight in if any concerns about movements etc and to trust my Mummy instincts if anything feels off... This was a bit triggering in terms of the implications and what they were trying not to say (although actually no different to what they say to any of us I guess, it just felt like there was added weight to it like they might expect it or something).

Meanwhile, I'm to get as much rest as possible without being sedentary (🤷🏼‍♀️🙃😂) I'm ok but just feeling a bit overwhelmed and teary by it all. It's lots to take in... slightly thrown and Hubby has gone into no nonsense business mode to rally me through so feeling I've not been able to quite process how I need yet. He keeps telling me to put it all out of my head etc as thinking about it won't change/help anything... 🙃 Meanwhile I'm contemplating possibly having a tiny baby here within a month and all that entails, no idea what/when things might happen, paranoid in case my Mummy instincts don't pick up on something vital... Eurgh. 😌 BUT the positives... Today he was looking fine. Amniotic fluid normal, BP fine, blood flow in umbilical cord etc good...

After my losses last year I think I'm just finding the added concerns a bit much and just hoping he gets here safely. I've already spoken to my midwife about some extra support with slightly heightened anxiety etc so hoping that will come through soon... Oof!

Jadeypie · 31/05/2024 09:07

@SnookyPook hope scan goes well and little man has piled some weight on ha xx

@Supertrooper101 he's got a.duplex kidney so he had a really bad infection took a whole week to come to that finding by a mri scan ffs because it wasn't showing in his urine xx

I'm out girls spotting for af has started looks like I ovulated later than I thought even tho I got a positive opk xx

Supertrooper101 · 31/05/2024 08:50

@SnookyPook how often are your scans now, you seem to always be there haha shows how quick yours is going, will you be 30wks monday?
@Jadeypie well that would be a story to tell wouldnt it if you got a positive lol plsd yiu can bring your boy home. Did they find the reason behind it?

SnookyPook · 30/05/2024 19:41

@Jadeypie aw don't worry - I don't think any of us would have taken what you said the wrong way. I'd be feeling the same - just wanting to focus on getting my child home safe and sound with no other distractions or worries to contemplate. I'm so glad that is now the case and he's back home. Must be a relief. As for testing... Oof .. would be typical timing wouldn't it after hoping it hadn't happened this month..! How long do you think you'd leave it to test? Would you be planning progesterone or anything early on if it was a BFP?

@xxcxdonxx aw I hope the consultant does get back to you and gives you a bit more to go on.

Got our next growth scan in the morning. Feeling slightly antsy and hoping little man has grown lots. Been to get some bits and bobs for my hospital bag this afternoon as per midwife recommendation at the last appointment... Hoping it won't be needed for a few more weeks yet though!

Hope everyone else is ok. 💕

xxcxdonxx · 30/05/2024 18:46

Thanks all, I’m hoping that’s the case. The person I spoke to said that the consultant wouldn’t be back until next week and she ‘might’ give me a call so not exactly feeling optimistic!

@Jadeypie so pleased to hear that your wee one is home where he belongs. How is he doing? I knew exactly what you meant so absolutely no offence taken 🥰
Are you going to hold off a few days to test?

Jadeypie · 30/05/2024 13:27

@xxcxdonxx I agree with the others that surely can not be right!! There's loads of tests investigations that could be had! I would speak to the consultant and get another opinion. Don't worry about ranting it's what we are here for.

I realised the other day I could of sounded abit cold by saying about wishing to not be pregnant and not considering others feelings on this thread so I'm really sorry if I offended anyone I've just been so full of emotions with my little one who's finally allowed home today we cried alot of happy tears.

As for me, there is no sign of af and basically, im too scared to text. I'm either due on today or one day late xx

Supertrooper101 · 30/05/2024 08:28

@xxcxdonxx am with sez. Its there own special clinic for that purpose, so find it hard to beleve. Have a look under nhs online what they say and if theres other forum on it. Like yku say, its pointless if thats all there gona do. And tis a place to rant, we can give you the willpower to push forward and get answers lol

Sez281 · 29/05/2024 20:09

@xxcxdonxx that definitely doesn't sound right., I'd say the secretary is after getting confused. It's literally their specialty so I doubt they'd just do one blood test (and I don't think they'd use your GPs and want their own done) hopefully you get to talk to consultant soon and get some answers🤞.. oh and that's are what we're here for so rant away any time! Xx

OP posts:
SnookyPook · 29/05/2024 16:01

@xxcxdonxx that doesn't sound right! Absolutely get why you would be feeling deflated and frustrated. I was sure they did more than 1 blood test?! They'll need to check hormone levels, endocrine system, thyroid, blood clotting etc won't they?! Hopefully the consultant will get back to you with a bit more to offer.

@Hankthehonk lovely to hear from you. So sorry to hear about your friend. Noone close to me has had or talked about a loss since I had mine but I can imagine it hits differently. I'm on a couple of the other pregnancy after loss type threads on here and whenever someone has another loss my heart just breaks for them. Can't believe little Rory is 4 months now! Hope it's all going well and that you're all settling in well to life as a 4!

xxcxdonxx · 29/05/2024 13:27

I’m just on for a bit of a rant, sorry everyone. I’ve just called my recurrent miscarriage consultant to ask what the next steps would be now I’ve had another, what tests would be available etc. The answer is that I have exhausted all tests available to me on the NHS. I’ve had one blooming blood test!!

Granted my own GP did some blood tests for me too but is blood tests the only thing I can be offered?!

It was the secretary I spoke to and I’m hoping when I get to speak to the consultant it will be a different answer but I’m just really deflated right now. The only suggestion was to ask my GP to refer me to Tommys but in reality I don’t know how long that will take and what they will do if I have two kids already. I don’t want to keep going blindly into this and hoping for a different result, the whole thing seems mad to me.

Sorry I’m just very annoyed and disappointed by it all and you lovely lot unfortunately have to see that 😩

Supertrooper101 · 29/05/2024 08:46

@Jadeypie crazy how they can confirm its an infection...but not sure where it is 🤦‍♀️. If other kids are involved youve just got to rely on the dad to step in and take turns between kids i guess. Good that his on the mend tho.
@Westy22 you sound like me with 'changes' jinxing things lol i wore the same outfit for each scan for wks lol
@Sez281 his 10. His just going through names from school 🤣. Av bort absolutley nothing lol and need absolutley everything lol

Sez281 · 29/05/2024 08:18

Ah the poor little mite @Jadeypie 😢 Hope he's doing ok now? No wonder you're up to 90, I'd imagine you're shattered from the stress of it all! Hopefully he's on the mend now xx

@Hankthehonk So sorry to hear about your friends loss, it's so heartbreaking ❤️‍🩹 I can't believe it's been 4 months. No doubt he's the cutest little thing 🥰

@Supertrooper101 how old is your youngest? I'd say some of the names are hilarious. My OHs 5 year old niece is throwing out some clangers 😂 I'm very lucky in that my sister and close friend have offered me loads of things like next to me cribs, etc so I'll start doing a list of what we need to actually buy this week, but probably won't buy anything just yet!

@Westy22 im sure your scan will be fine and you can enjoy hols then. Have you booked anything yet?

@xxcxdonxx you might have to invest in a pill organiser with the days of the week on it. I have one identical to my grannies 🙈😂

xxcxdonxx · 28/05/2024 22:22

Thanks for all of your recommendations ladies!
Maca is a new one on me @Westy22 , I’ll need to have a read up on that. Lovely you have started to feel more definite movements too. I can’t remember how far along it is before you start seeing them move but can’t be far off for you.

So pleased that your scan went well @Sez281 Will they have you in again? Yup, better get shopping!! Thanks for the info, it doesn’t apply in terms of bmi for me but I’ll have a look into it as I’m sure I’ve seen it mentioned before.

Yeah I gave pro seed a go last time too @Supertrooper101 I was taking additional vitC but I’ll need to get on that now too. Great that you got to tell your youngest and they are on board now too.

xxcxdonxx · 28/05/2024 22:03

Oh @Jadeypie that’s awful, how are you all doing? Hopefully he is back to his usual self soon and you can all get home 🥰

Hankthehonk · 28/05/2024 20:13

So glad to see that your 20 week scan went well @Sez281 and hope your dc is ok now @Jadeypie !
I just found out someone close to me is going through an MC and it's got me in tears for her. Obviously it also gets me thinking about my loss last year, and how much this group helped me through it. I still can't believe I've got a healthy baby now even though he's almost 4 months old (!)
Sending love to all of you at all the stages of ttc and pregnancy and motherhood x

SnookyPook · 28/05/2024 12:20

Oh @Jadeypie what a worry for you! So glad that he's now on the mend! Must be frustrating not having clear answers though. Hope you can get him home soon. 💗

@Sez281 yay! How lovely 😍 So glad it went well xx

Jadeypie · 28/05/2024 12:03

Hi girls I've been up the wall! My dc got admitted into hospital with a infection that they crnt find!! How I don't no currently still here on day 6 but he's on the mend!! Hopefully can get to the bottom of it soon he's been a little trooper!!

While being here it's made me think how do mums cope with more than one in these situations all the worry I've been through I crnt imagine being able to cope with more kids to worry about!! If that makes sence. My tww is nearly up and all I keep thinking of is please don't be pregnant!! Which feels so strange to think considering I've been hoping for that for over a year xx

Westy22 · 28/05/2024 08:55

@Paws4thought I'm sorry AF arrived, I know my MC happened with no intervention but my periods weren't normal for a while afterwards they definitely were lighter and I also had more brown spotting then red some months, so may just take some time for everything to settle x

@Sez281 glad everything went well 😍 I'm so nervous for mine as its in a different medical centre due to us changing the app incase we go away...so I'm somehow convincing myself that something won't be right because it's changed 🙈

@Supertrooper101 yeah I think I might ask as I feel like due to being 18 weeks when I go I might have more of a chance of her finding something 🙈 I used pre seed and definitely recommend @xxcxdonxx

I'm desperate to buy things lol but have only gone as far as a couple of neutral outfits atm but have a list of things I want 🤣

Supertrooper101 · 28/05/2024 08:24

@Sez281 my 20wk one went really quick, quite anti climax when i left lol am like that now....when shall i buy lol took my kids to butlins and fantasy island last few days and told my youngest. Abit overwhelmed at first but then thinking up names by the end of the day lol
@Westy22 my m/w said they dont do the doppler till 25wks but i asked at the 16wk one and she did it, so worth an ask 🙂.. popping and stuff defo sounds like movement, should get more definate now.
@xxcxdonxx think theyve covered the supps, i think its a case of getting antixodiants in you. So extra vitamin c , omegas, hydration. Did you give the pro seed a go? Was that you or westy 🤦‍♀️ lol
@Paws4thought its so hard not to have doubts if anything is wrong 🙁. Were your periods heavy before? If your worried and its constant try to see if you can get a scan for peace of mind? Giving your past experience with any kind of help, you would probably have to move drs for that though lol

Sez281 · 28/05/2024 08:03

Oh my god 5 under 10 @Westy22 fair play to her! 🙈

@xxcxdonxx Along with pregnacare I took (and am still taking 5mg prescribed folic acid) it's recommended if your bmi is on the higher side but Im not sure that that applies to you. That along with CoQ10, the DHEA that was prescribed, and vitamin B complex 50 (to try extend my LP) Not sure what if any of them made the difference, or whether it was the conceive + or progesterone (or aspirin after BFP) I guess I'll never know but would try them all again if it came to

So the scan went great, everything is measuring perfectly and looking well. We were both very emotional during and after it🥹 Even though baby is breech at the moment the consultant was able to get all the measurements we needed so it was actually quicker than I thought. It was the same consultant I had for my Nipt scan and she was so nice. I had prepared myself for loads of silences and long pauses but she talked us through everything. It was lovely.. I guess we might have to start thinking about buying stuff now 😂

Westy22 · 27/05/2024 19:26

So I've attached images of everything I took @xxcxdonxx I didn't take anything else other than these and added Maca in I'd say in the last 2 months before conceiving as my friend kept telling me to take it 🙈 I took one tablet of each daily, the omega 3 I took after reading someone's fertility blog lol xx

Haha I can imagine that was fun @Sez281 I wouldn't survive 5 mins with my sisters kids but she has 5 under 10 years old 😱🙈

Convinced I felt something last night, was in bed and had a very aggressive pop sensation followed by a slightly more gentle one in the same spot it was very bizarre x
