Would anyone like to join me on the TTC for March 2024

Going into my 3rd month TTC for my rainbow baby after a loss in 2007 at 7 weeks, I'm now 34 (35 in June) and TTC for our first baby with me and my DH

The last 2 cycles my body has played horrible tricks on me, so i have been keeping a log of my symptoms.

I'm not ready to do opks or bbt just yet trying to do natural and less stressful but did have 21 day bloods and day 3 bloods done and the results come back good, i do have PCO cysts in my ovaries and my DH has good sperm he had this tested last year.

@Ginny2018 Wow, that all sounds amazing! Do you get to go skiing? & are you Italian? So I’m guessing you speak French and Italian and English then.. x

Ginny2018 · 01/03/2024 22:02

@Emilyx00 really great idea 🤩 I need to finish a job (3 weeks left from Sunday and after that a well deserved holiday!!). My partner works in tourism in a ski resort in France where we currently live, I'm a chef in one of the chalets he manages. We've been doing it for a few years and I'm SO DONE with the people that come here 🤣 So focussing on:

  • Finishing that job
  • We need to look for a house (we want to buy back home in Italy when we come back in april)
  • I want to focus on some creative projects too that have been lying around!
Ginny2018 · 01/03/2024 21:59

Also I just reread that last post and it sounds so clinical 🥲 Eversince we started ttc I've learned so much about the things women go through when wanting to have kids..

Emilyx00 · 01/03/2024 21:57

Ladies I have an idea for next month if anyone wants to join me.. why don’t we all find something else to focus on? For example, I need to lose a few stone so I might use this chat to speak about my weight loss over the next few weeks as well. It might be moving house or anything.. even work, just a way to ‘attempt’ to relax a little bit x

Ginny2018 · 01/03/2024 21:50

Haha thanks for all your responses ladies. Tbf these daily dtd sessions are nothing special and last approx 10 minutes and half of them are indeed not so passionate because we 'have to'. My bf and I work together on the same shifts currently so our days are almost 100% aligned and we have no other kids, which makes it not difficult to find the 10 minutes time but I fully appreciate this can be a challenge in other situations. He was really sad to see me dissapointed last cycle so he means well and i also think he is less educated on all the technical aspects of conception 🤣. I'm going to try to put less pressure on it this time and see what happens.

Emilyx00 · 01/03/2024 21:31

@Adamsapple89 I tried last month, never again. I was so sore and the sex was shit towards the end because neither of us could be bothered! My best friend DTD every day and then twice a day during her fertile week and didn’t get pregnant. She got pregnant the month she was avoiding because we were off to Ibiza and only had sex twice 😂xx

Adamsapple89 · 01/03/2024 21:10

@YorkshirePeridot same here, I just couldn’t. A friend of mine DTD every single day from period finishing the whole month. Dud get pregnant bug I honestly just couldn’t

YorkshirePeridot · 01/03/2024 20:22

I don't think I could dtd every day if I wanted to haha! My job is very tiring so I'm often in bed and asleep before DH has even thought about turning in. We aim for every 2-3 days during the fertile window although I might see if we can up it around ovulation this month. Last month for a couple of reasons we only managed twice in the window and for one of those we'd been sat in a hot tub so not the best for the swimmers.

Ovulation tests. I use easy at home at the moment but thinking Clear blue is there much in it??

I used cb last month. Super easy to use as you hold them in the stream and you get a smiley face rather than comparing lines or needing an app. Downside is they're expensive to stock up on each month if you keep using them for a few cycles.

Any opinions about dtd every day ladies? My partner is of the firm belief that more you try more chance you have, we tried it last month and didn't fall pregnant. He means well (it's not about doing it, he's usually not at all the type to want to go for it every day), and really wants to do everything in his power to make this cycle succesful. I instead suggested to do it every other day this cycle.

@icallshade do you remember what you did when conceiving your first?

@Rosyposy26 i use the cheapies too, i will now for cycle 2 and probably after that won't anymore if this cycle doesn't work..

@Ginny2018 They do actually recommend every 2 to 3 days to allow the sperm to refresh and build back up, i wish my hubby could do every 2 days but he struggles so we do every 3 as we not tracking with opks and Temp we DTD 8 times over the course of the month starting day period ends and finish 3 days before period due we find that less stressful for us right now

i hear people saying tracking can be stressful and quiet demanding timing it right etc

Hi, I'll join 😊
CD1 today of Cycle 3 ttc baby #2.
DD was very unexpectedly conceived first month trying after a miscarriage which was also first month of trying so having failed cycles is unchartered territory for us (and makes me 1000x more empathetic to those of you who have been ttc for such a long time 💐)
We are also not tracking using OPKs/bbt etc but just being mindful to dtd every other day.
Hopefully lots of bfps from this thread come the end of March 😊🤞

@icallshade Hello and welcome to the March TTC train, sending baby dust your way x

Seems like a lot of us ladies in this chat have suffered some miscarriage so we are all very understanding, and sorry for your loss

Im with you on the not tracking using oks/bbt we dtd every 3 days from when the period ends and finish 3 days before im due we find this the better approach for us and less tiring/ stressfull

@Ginny2018 the month I got pregnant I had sex once the entire month so
is deffo just luck and wasn’t trying so don’t put too much stress on the every day

Emilyx00 · 01/03/2024 19:37

@Ginny2018 Ive heard people falling pregnant with everyday, every other day, every two days! I guess it just spends on your husbands sperm too. Last month I done it every day too and didn’t fall pregnant. By the end of it.. I was exhausted, and the sex didn’t feel as good so don’t think I can do that again myself. This month I don’t think I done it enough. Every other day sounds balanced, I might try that this month. How are you feeling xx

I stopped taking my pill and 3 weeks later I was pregnant. It was exceptionally unexpected, I was fully prepared for it to take up to a year (and at the time a part of me wished it had taken longer as I felt very mentally unprepared).
We dtd every other day but I honestly think that there was no stress/planning to dtd we were very chilled about it (which is obviously really difficult to be when youve been trying for any length of time).
I then miscarried that baby at 7 weeks. I bled for 5 days and 4 weeks later I was pregnant again. I was obsessive about dtd after my miscarriage as I was desperate to be pregnant again, but in all honesty I think it was a pure fluke/luck.

With regards to your partner wanting to dtd daily, I think there's no issue with it as long as it doesn't take a toll on you both as a couple 💐❤

Emilyx00 · 01/03/2024 19:28

@Ginny2018 i ordered the easy@home strips from Amazon and used the pre-mom app to help measure. I found it easy to use and caught my peak easily x

@Rosyposy26

I'm doing individual supplements for now, but they look good

If you can i would maybe look at getting an AMH blood test done hoping to do this myself

Anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) is produced in the ovarian follicles and is used to reflect ovarian reserve (the remaining number of follicles within the ovaries capable of producing an egg).
The AMH blood test will indicate if your levels are normal for your age and is useful if considering fertility treatment such as egg freezing or IVF. The World Health Organisation states infertility affects 1 in 6 people globally, with 17.5% of adults across the world affected by the inability to have a child. Both high and low levels of AMH can impact on fertility. Measurement of AMH cannot determine how many viable eggs a female has remaining or predict a female's chances of pregnancy.
Typically, AMH levels peak when a woman reaches her mid-twenties and then decline with age, becoming undetectable post-menopause. A low AMH indicates diminished ovarian reserve and a higher AMH level indicates greater ovarian reserve; however, high levels can also occur in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

@Rosyposy26 yeah if they worked for you just stick with them for now, as TTC can be costly if getting supplements and food to help body to

I know I’ve just bought second lot of Proceive max as that had good reviews for my age. I’m going to give it a few months and then see what the doctors say. I’m fit healthy so hoping my eggs are still ok.

Oh no that must be very hard, when i Had my miscarriage at 18 i found out when i was about 5 weeks then lost the baby at 7 weeks.

it's a big shame when we never really know what causes a miscarriage so early on
