Would anyone like to join me on the TTC for March 2024

Going into my 3rd month TTC for my rainbow baby after a loss in 2007 at 7 weeks, I'm now 34 (35 in June) and TTC for our first baby with me and my DH

The last 2 cycles my body has played horrible tricks on me, so i have been keeping a log of my symptoms.

I'm not ready to do opks or bbt just yet trying to do natural and less stressful but did have 21 day bloods and day 3 bloods done and the results come back good, i do have PCO cysts in my ovaries and my DH has good sperm he had this tested last year.

Welcome in @Ella31, so sorry to hear about your losses, wishing you a rainbow baby soon 💕

Ella31 · 06/03/2024 11:56

Wondering if I could join. Been trying since August 2022. Three pregnancies - 2 were mc and last one was twin neonatal death.

I'm 7dpo today.

UnicornPrincessSarah · 05/03/2024 21:26

@YorkshirePeridot Ah thats good fingers crossed for you that ovulation dont come early mine has ranged from cycle day 12 up to cycle day 18 before lol

@UnicornPrincessSarah Just until it clears up, which should only be a couple of days hopefully. I've only got three days of antibiotics so unless my ovulation test is positive tomorrow (unlikely on CD11) it shouldn't affect us too much.

UnicornPrincessSarah · 05/03/2024 19:23

Hi Ladies happy Tuesday hope we are all doing well and good.

@YorkshirePeridot Hopefully the UTI doesn't mess up your DTD cycle too much, have they said how long you have to have an absence for?

@Ginny2018 I cant really remember if coming off an injection messed up my periods as i stopped any form of conception in 2012, i deff think docs can be wrong though about how it can affect you after etc.

@Ginny2018 I feel like any contraception that affects the uterus lining is going to affect the heaviness of periods. I had my implant removed in December so also just adjusting to my cycles and sometimes feel like I have no idea what's going on! I'd be inclined not to worry about it currently, periods can be all over the place but as long as you're ovulating you're in with a good chance.

@Shortcake06 hopefully this cycle is the one for you 🤞

My unexciting update is that I've been diagnosed with a UTI today so can't dtd until that clears up. Hoping ovulation doesn't sneak up on me too quickly, though I did get my first flashing smiley of the month earlier. Typical.

Squirreljr28 · 05/03/2024 17:26

@Shortcake06 it must be hard with your due date coming up. So many triggering milestones after as miscarriage. My little boy was due in June, I already know I will struggle with it.

Unfortunately my partner works away quite alot, so there isn't going to be much of an opportunity but hoping everything falls right. When I fell pregnant in October, it was after 1 time. I was lucky. Hopefully, I get that chance again.

Shortcake06 · 05/03/2024 17:16

Hi everyone
sorry I have been quiet, after a few days of light flow/spotting my period arrived with a vengeance so hopefully I’m on the last day or so of it!
Been reading everyone’s messages and I look forward to having some cycle buddies 😃 Really impressed with people just going with the flow. When I fell pregnant before my miscarriage last summer it was a total fluke! Been trying since and had 6 unsuccessful cycles 😔
In terms of how often to have sex, I try and do every second day throughout but daily over fertile period.
My husband is delighted and is happy to do it as much as I want 😃
i will start OPKs around day 8, my ovulation and cycles have been a little unpredictable since my miscarriage but my app predicts it will be around the 15th of March which feels ages away. Trying to keep positive going into cycle 7 but this is my last chance before I pass the due date of my miscarriage 😔

@Rosyposy26 ah that makes things a little easier then! How many cycles have you been trying if you don’t mind me asking?

& @MelonSmoothie will you use the cheap strips as well as the clear blue or just the clear blue? & I haven’t got a clue, I think I’m just going to have sex whenever I can for a bit and try and relax then next month I’ll try something else but I really do feel like my OH needs a little break from me nagging him after work/after gym etc when he really cannot be bothered xx

However when I fell in December I wasn’t expecting it so was drinking at Xmas parties. Not really paying attention didn’t know when ovulated. But this month just gone cut everything out and omega 3 everyday (Proceive max) and nothing happened but not sure my lining was thick enough as period very very light.

I came of the mini pill end of October and fell in December but miscarried 2nd February so we are just trying however I am
nearly 43 so I know time isn’t on our side. I have 2 children from previous marriage that ended over 10
years ago and they are now 20 and 17. My partner doesn’t but has been through various fertility treatments with his previous partner that didn’t work.

so I am just going with flow trying to track ovulation because I want to know where I stand, thinking about doing Hertility tests to see where I am at. But will wait a couple of months.

MelonSmoothie · 05/03/2024 16:24

@Emilyx00 yeah it's so difficult when if feels scheduled and you've got life stuff going on too! Hhmmm honestly I'm not sure - I'm happy to throw money at the problem (for a few cycles anyway 😂), do you think it's worth doing both?

I'm not sure what to do this time @Emilyx00 , if I use the clear blue digital I'm thinking maybe peak day and the one after? Neither of us have particularly high sex drives and it is a bit of a chore to do it on certain days tbh.. what are you planning on doing this cycle?

Rosyposy26 · 05/03/2024 15:49

Emilyx00 · 05/03/2024 15:45

@Rosyposy26 / @MelonSmoothie yeah my app was marking my evaps as 0.24 on pregnancy tests so not 100% sure I believe it lol. Do your partners like DTD every other day or does that not work for you xxx

we tend to do it most days. Just because that’s usually what happens. Starts with just kissing and always leads on to more. I have a high drive at the moment. If we didn’t feel like it we wouldn’t do it and at the moment doesn’t feel like a chore so still fun. I know they say to do it every other day but I think it would make it more calculated.

I'm thinking clear blue as well @Rosyposy26 ... Digital so I can't mess it up 😂

Yeah and also you only have to test once a day. I still don’t get how a camera and app can pick up the slight colour change in the lines.

MelonSmoothie · 05/03/2024 13:58

Yeah @Emilyx00 ... I'm thinking of getting the actual tests this cycle - more accurate maybe?

I get so confused with the tests. I tested first thing this morning it said 0.11 low then I did it again 30 mins later and it went up to 0.33. I will test when I get home as it says test twice a day. I was comparing to last month and my reading was higher at this point than last month. I might try the clear blue one. It just go with it.

Emilyx00 · 05/03/2024 13:40

Is that how you track? Using the app?x

Custardcreammachine · 05/03/2024 13:26

Just catching up with the thread and totally agree with those saying that they will just go with the flow this month. I'm feeling like that too. Going to focus on trying to shift some weight and feel better mentally and hopefully the rest will happen itself! So hard when you're used to focusing on that teeny window of opportunity though!!

MelonSmoothie · 05/03/2024 13:05

Thanks @Emilyx00 .. this is slightly off from where Flo predicted (Thursday) so I'm wondering if my ovulation prediction was off as well...

Emilyx00 · 05/03/2024 12:20

@MelonSmoothie I wait until the next day. I started spotting yesterday but today is CD1 as it’s full flow x

MelonSmoothie · 05/03/2024 10:28

Started spotting today which is the beginning of AF I think so on to the next! Around 16th March I think, going to be a tricky one as we have people staying.

If anyone uses Flo app or similar, do you log a day with a bit of spotting as day 1 of your period or wait til you're properly bleeding?

Ginny2018 · 05/03/2024 08:42

Hi lovely ladies!

I've had a strange menstruation: more blood (mostly brown though, not really bright red) and more cramps in my very low abdomen than usual. I have had an IUD (copper, non-hormonal) for 6 years and had it taken out in November. While I had it, my period was always hell: cramps, 5 days of heavy bleeds, back pains etc. As soon as it was out, all of that disappeared and for 3 cycles I've barely even noticed my period. So I was kind of surprised when this cycle hit me hard again, and now I'm wondering if maybe my body needed time to get used to it? Back in november my doctor said that wouldn't be the case, as the contraception I had was non-hormonal, so no adjusting time.. I also suddenly have to get up every night twice to go to the bathroom, which is not like me at all. Does anyone have something similar to share?

Regarding TTC: period is over now, I'm on CD8, and my app predicts ovulation on the 13th, fertile window starting Friday. I'm leaning towards not testing for ovulation at all this month and just going with the flow regarding sex. Mostly because of the pressure it caused me last month to test for ovulation twice a day for a week.
