Who else is trying to conceive in their 30s? I am trying to conceive number 2 and I am rapidly approaching 35. Had my first at 31 who I conceived easily but since having her my cycles vary from 28 to 34 days and I now get spotting a few days before my period. I am about to start the 3 month of trying and I am starting to get in my own head that my hormones are not where they need to be

@ToeBeans24 sorry to hear you had a chemical, it’s good that you’re feeling in a better headspace though. Hopefully you get your sticky BFP soon.

ToeBeans24 · 26/02/2024 14:43

I had a BFP last month (1st month ttc) and was elated. Only to suffer a chemical at 4w6d. It’s been very difficult. But I’m in a better headspace than I was last week and excited and hopeful to try again this cycle.

currently only CD7 though so a while to go!

@Mummysparrow I'm 8dpo and stupidly tested this evening 🤪 and it's the purest negative possible! The sensitive easy@home test as well. Really feel like breaking my dry spell and having a stiff drink....!? But feel bad? It's like your body is owned before you're even pregnant. Keep trying to make all these good choices but then get brutal AF every month. Feeling v hopeless about it all.

This exactly how I feel! I'm going on month 11 of trying so I've not been dry for the entire time but the TWW every month I don't over exercise, i don't eat any foods that can be bad for pregnancy and I obviously dont drink, so for nearly 50% of the last year I've felt like my body isn't my own and so far it's been for nothing. Currently 2dpo so the 2 week helplessness has begun!

Ncl31 · 26/02/2024 14:19

I just got my peak today… hopefully ovulating tomorrow

Mummysparrow · 26/02/2024 14:11

Currently 3dpo, how is everyone doing?

My period is taking it out of me today. The pain is going up the right side for some unknown reason 😭 thankfully it should finish or get fairly light tomorrow.
I am not taking at pre natals just because I am on iron supplement which has loads of vitamins and folate in so I think I am covered there. I may look at fertility support though.
I have started to watch fertility vlogs on YouTube today, no idea why 😂😂
@Llr2023 I did some fertility yoga this morning before work at home 😂😂
Welcome @Ncl31 @Ravenclawlass 👋

Hi I’m 32 and I’m Tcc1

came off the pill and am having really really light periods with spotting a few days before.

last month in January my LH was only high for a matter of 3 or so hours - I only got one positive ovulation test

this month i had 24 hours with one large spike before my peak and subsequent drop.

im hoping that’s a sign my cycle is starting to return to normal!

baby dust to you all ladies!

Ncl31 · 05/02/2024 21:34

I’m 32, 33 in a few weeks.

TTC #1 - DH has a son to a previous relationship.
Had 1 BFP which unfortunately ended in a miscarriage on Christmas Day. Currently 8DPO in first cycle since mc.

Llr2023 · 05/02/2024 21:20

So much illness going around atm isn’t there. I hope I’m at the end of it now and better for next cycle.
I’ve been taking pregnacare for the last month or so and have just started taking COQ10. I’ve got a Wild Nutrition fertility support and omega3 arriving tomorrow. I think I should take magnesium too - I’ve got a spray, I wonder if that’s the same thing?
I always want to try meditation but I’m the same as you, I get distracted and end up giving up and scrolling on my phone. Just being thrown endless fertility ads on instagram gaaaah. maybe I’ll try this evening…

Mummysparrow · 05/02/2024 20:39

@Llr2023 I am about to finish antibiotics for tonsillitis and chest infection and also got a stinking cold so I feel you. I took a promotion after coming back from maternity in 2022 and my new role is a lot more stressful and I am so aware about stress affecting fertility. I am trying to do meditation but I am really slacking as I am just tired in the evening. Pilates is a good shout though. What supplements are you going to try?
Nope I still drink, I only have them a glass of wine on Friday and Saturday and with my job I don't intend on dropping the wine until I have to 😂 I have heard omega 3 is good for fertility so going to take that. I already take iron, vitamin d, magnesium and folate.

Hey everyone - joining here as I’m 33 (34 next month) and about to head into cycle 2 TTC #1. I’m currently 10dpo, waiting for AF to arrive, due on Weds. I’ve taken a million tests this month, all early detection and all very negative. Work has been the most stressful it’s ever been, I’ve had tonsillitis and now a cold b2b, so trying to get healthy ahead of next cycle. Ordered lots of supplements and doing Pilates to try to relax. It’s a lonely slog isn’t it, all of my friends are pregnant or have kids already… really hoping it happens for us soon 🤞🏼 what’s everyone doing to maximize their chances? Do you drink alcohol or has everyone given up? Xxx

Figtree11 · 05/02/2024 15:29

@Mummysparrow thank you, I was 10 weeks but had stopped growing at 8 weeks.
Its difficult isn’t it when you get it in your head that it will happen at a certain point & then it doesn’t.

I’m the most impatient person ever, and similarly I feel I need to manage my stress around TTC better! I want to step away from OPK testing & worrying but easier said than done!

Mummysparrow · 05/02/2024 14:59

@Figtree11 I just seem to test a few times a day near ovulation time 😂 early afternoon and evening appears to be the best time. Sorry to hear about your MMC, how far along was you?
The funny thing is with my daughter I thought it would take ages so wasn't prepared for how quick it was. I suspected it would takes ages this time but I kind of hoped it would be quick like before.
I think all the spotting last week really threw me as although I normally spot just before my period this was more than normal. I think I need to get my stress under control and eat better and hope for the best.

Hi @Mummysparrow im testing twice a day using easy at home. I had been testing first thing in the morning, as I’ve since read you’re not meant to do! And then in the evening. Hoping I have ovulated & just missed it but who knows.

Fingers crossed this cycle is the one for you. Before my MC I had only been off the pill for about 3 months & only had 1 period in that time and didn’t do any tracking. I wish it felt as simple this time around!

Mummysparrow · 05/02/2024 14:42

@Figtree11 hi 👋 how often are you testing and what tests are you using? I peak really quickly so I don't always catch the top of my peak but as soon as I see some kind of rise I just make the assumption I am ovulating the next day.
My period has finally decided to start, or at least it appears that way, if it doesn't get scared away again. So on to cycle 3 of trying. This is unknown territory for me as I conceived 2nd month with my daughter.

Figtree11 · 04/02/2024 21:49

Hi everyone, hope you don’t mind me joining!
I’m 32 and TTC my first. I had a MMC in November, and had 1 period since then. I’m tracking ovulation but doesn’t seem to be peaking.
Trying to DTD every 2 to 3 days regardless, but the not knowing what is happening to my body is driving me a bit mad!

Mummysparrow · 04/02/2024 21:27

@m00ngirl I have read that too. I am considering trying to eat foods that apparently help with progesterone and perhaps try a test I can get online. Me and hubby don't want to have to try IVF etc to get pregnant but I would consider progesterone supplements if needed

m00ngirl · 04/02/2024 21:25

@Mummysparrow I'm in a similar boat - light bleeding - but I know I'm coming on my period so stopped testing. Quite intense cramp for 2 days. I read online that spotting before period can be a sign of low progestorone (which I have all the other symptoms/causes for as well..) - might be worth keeping an eye on that.

@EllieFxOx welcome! I'm mid 30s, TTC for first time, just finished another failed cycle (7). The TWW bends space time, I know the dragging feeling..! No solutions here but keeping v v busy at work helps a little bit. I also know the lonely feeling, which is why I loiter on here 🤪 you're not alone x Good luck x

EllieFxOx · 04/02/2024 19:41

Hi! I'm 32 and this is our first time trying to conceive. On my first cycle day 17, just entered into the two week wait. Not wanting to share too much with family and friends and it just feels a very lonley time. How do you pass the time before finding out!? Not expecting it to happen straight away but there's always hope

Mummysparrow · 04/02/2024 19:31

I feel like a sitting duck at the moment. Not pregnant but got to wait for period to start. The spotting has stopped and I normally get spotting a few days before period so I could be a week off my period yet

I caved and tested again at 13dpo and still negative 🤦 going to buy some cheaper tests for next month

OP posts:
Mummysparrow · 02/02/2024 21:47

I knew I should have bought some cheapies. Maybe I will have to pick some up in Tesco tomorrow 😂😂

OP posts:
m00ngirl · 02/02/2024 21:44

Good for you! 🥂 I've heard some people have a bleed when AF is due that stops and they're pregnant, I'd prob do a cheap test if I were you just to see, then again I do too many 🙈

Mummysparrow · 02/02/2024 21:13

Not going to lie but I am currently drinking wine 😂 I have to be dry for 9 months of pregnancy so I will enjoy a wine whilst I can 😂 I tend to only have a glass or two at the weekends so not a big drinker but a glass is my reward for surviving work for the week😂 I tested at 8dpo and 10dpo. Not sure why I did 8dpo but I was hoping for a positive at 10dpo 🫣
