I'm on cycle 3, due on tomorrow. I have tested today but it was negative. Weirdly I have no period symtoms (apart from being moody AF the past week).
I know it's only cycle three but I really thought it would happen quickly. I have been pregnant twice before (I have one daughter) but both were surprises. I've never tried to conceive before and have been using Flo and ovulation sticks - any tips? Should be be putting my legs up in the air after sex etc?
Would love to hear from other people who are on, or have been on, this journey!

Negative tests and 10 and 11 DPO. 12 DPO today and I had a big drop in my BBT and a streak of blood so guess my period is coming.

Absolutely gutted, I had allowed myself a lot of hope x

So sorry to hear this... we're in the next cycle together though, let it be the one!

Does anyone take fertility supplements?

@sorcha1292
Hello! I'd definitely say ovulation sticks are more reliable. FLO is often way off for my ovulation date (cycle can vary between 27 and 32 days) and it uses the previous cycle to predict ovulation and it only corrects when AF arrives. If you have a super regular cycle I think FLO is okay but otherwise I'd stick to testing 😊

sorcha1292 · 28/01/2024 11:30

Just wondering- as I've just seen another thread about this - which is more reliable, ovulation testing or flo? I assumed the ovulation sticks so I've been going on those, but flo predicts my ovulation to be a few days later.

@sorcha1292 @MrsScotland @mamataylor I got my bfp today ☺️

@4LeafCloverBaby congratulations. I think you were on one of the threads I was on before. Did you do anything different this cycle.

Congratulations @4LeafCloverBaby how are you feeling? You excited? Lovely news.

@Ella31 so sorry to hear you are trying after loss too. It has put a bit of a different slant on it for me but I also still hang on to hope that I would have to be terribly unlucky for it to happen twice x

Thank you. My little first twin was stillborn and his brother died 4 days later. We had to let them go as he was so ill. I had two miscarriages before my sons as well so I'm hoping I'll have better luck soon. My twins were perfect but unfortunately got ttts which is a rare condition for identical twins. We got a rare acute version that happened within hours. We had a perfect scan all the way up to two days before it happened.

4LeafCloverBaby · 27/01/2024 22:53

@sorcha1292 I feel good apart from a bit crampy & my appetite is a bit on & off. I’m very excited but I guess it just doesn’t really feel real quite yet x

Currently 1dpo. Waiting impatiently after a major twin loss a few months ago at 29 weeks. Hoping for the best.

4LeafCloverBaby · 27/01/2024 16:05

@sorcha1292 I think that’s a good idea.
No not yet, we just went to boots to get a test but my other half wanted to wash the car first! 😂🤣🙈So I’m sitting here patiently waiting! Lol

MrsScotland · 27/01/2024 12:24

I did a test this morning at 10DPO and there wasn’t a hint of anything but my temp was up so I don’t think my period is going to show today/tomorrow. Not out till my period shows I suppose but feeling a bit deflated

Awww the waiting and bring in limbo is horrible isn't it. But there's still hope yet... I have everything crossed for you x

@sorcha1292 the first day of heavy flow would be today yes. Sex every other day from CD8 yes & then when you peak sex for the consecutive days. If you usually have sex a few times a week then you can have sec before CD8, I think it’s just that from CD8 is a must. With regards to your partner, if he doesn’t want to go to a clinic to get his sperm tested, you can get a home kit from multiple companies online & send his sperm off for analysis. Maybe that would put both of your mind at rest. If there is a problem then you could be pointlessly trying for months where as if you know the answers then you can work with them.
I have heard good things about the fertility cup. I tried it myself last month & it didn’t work for me but it’s worth a go I guess 😊 Hope you’re ok. x
I’ve woken up feeling a bit nauseous today & my BBT is still up high so I’m going to test later on today.

Thank you! Yes I think we will get hi tested, like you said might as well find out sooner than later.

Have you tested yet?

Yup... AF well and truly arrived during the night.

So I've been looking up that egg meets sperm plan you suggested, would today be CD1? Then do I start shagging every other day from CD8, or as soon as I stop bleeding?

Also, I know I can have kids as I've been pregnant twice and have a daughter (7). My partner doesn't have any biological children and he's got it in his head we might struggle because of him but that's based on nothing, he's just worried about it. Anyway someone suggested these little moon cup type things that you insert after sex to stop sperm falling out. Thoughts on these? They're about £30 but wondering whether it's worth trying.

Any more symptoms for you all?

@4LeafCloverBaby sounds very promising! Keep us posted 🥰

mamataylor · 26/01/2024 13:11

@sorcha1292 so sorry you’ve started spotting. I’ve also had some pinky discharge today and am quite sure AF is on her way so I think l’ll be joining you for the next cycle.

@MrsScotland so sorry for your loss ♥️ I have everything crossed that it happens this cycle for you 🤞

MrsScotland · 26/01/2024 10:59

Hi Sorcha

Thanks for your reply, yes it's our first. It took 18 months to conceive and I had such a good first trimester, two good private scans, we were over the moon and couldn't believe it had finally happened for us. Then we had our 12 week scan and the baby had a very high NT measurement.

I'm now 39 so we got straight back on the TTC wagon, this is cycle 3. I had hoped it might have sort of kickstarted my body and it would be more likely to happen for us. Taking lots of supplements, doing OPKs and started temping last cycle and trying to do the sperm meets egg plan as much as possible.

At least I have hope now that I have been pregnant before and therefore it could happen again 🙂
