Not pregnant after chemical

Millie1501 · 20/01/2024 11:41

Hey guys, I believe I had a chemical pregnancy in December. I had several faint positive tests that got more faint over several days. I read so many success stories of people conceiving the month after a chemical so was hoping I would. I am now on day 2 of a new cycle so did not conceive this month. I am feeling really down about it and worried this might never happen for me. Did anyone conceive soon after a chemical but not the month after?

I think I am at the end of the second cycle after CP and tomorrow I will get AF so it will be the beginning of the third cycle.
The first and the current cycles have been affected by CP which was expected.
However I wonder if the third cycle is also going to be slightly affected or it will turn out to be a normal one.
My cycles used to last for 27 - 32 days before 2 MCs and now the previous two and the current one have been quite long for me, 34 days.
2 MCs also have delayed my ovulation from CD15 to CD21/22.
I'd appreciate if you could share your experiences or stories.

@Endomummy we qualify for IVF in February so we will go for IVF then. As much as I wanted to believe it would happen naturally, I've lost all hope I just don't think it will now ☹️. What about you? X

Endomummy · 18/06/2024 19:40

@Angelselevenx thank you, same to you too! Sorry you are in the same situation :( I don’t come on here as regularly anymore as I find it makes me feel even worse when I see people conceiving quickly. Or complaining it’s taking too long when they are still within the normal 12 month timeframe. I really dislike how bitter this has made me and how I feel whenever I see pregnant women or women with loads of kids. Are you going to keep ttc or would you do any fertility treatments? I feel like I’m at a crossroads now trying to decide what to do x

@LucyCL i am really sorry to hear you had a CP too. Since I had mine I don’t feel like the void will heal until I conceive again, which isn’t nice but I’ve accepted it is the way I will feel until I can move beyond this, the only way I can move forward is to conceive again. I really hope you are able to take some time for yourself though. My cycle was messed up for a few months after, thought I would mention it in case it happens to you too x

LucyCL · 16/06/2024 21:25

@Angelselevenx @Endomummy I am sorry to hear that you are still trying to conceive after CP and it must be really hard and mentally challenging to see people close to you getting pregnant. I had a CP last month and I am already feeling a bit lost. However I do hope this will be your month! Sending huge virtual hugs to you!

Angelselevenx · 13/06/2024 06:36

@Endomummy sending love and support, here if you want to chat cause I know how hard it is. Watching everyone around you and just being left in the background whilst everyone moves on with life xx

Endomummy · 12/06/2024 17:48

@Angelselevenx I’m around the same as you after my chemical, 18 months but missed a couple cycles so probably about 16 cycles. It’s awful. I’m sorry, I really sympathise with you and hope we both get our bfps soon x

Angelselevenx · 12/06/2024 16:53

@Millie1501 yep, all completely normal 😭. I've got my hycosy tomorrow 😬

Millie1501 · 12/06/2024 16:35

@Angelselevenx omg that is really rough hun 😥. I’m so sorry it’s been like this for you. Have you and your partner had any fertility investigations? Xx

As Millie said definitely don’t lose hope it took me 7 months after chemical and all seems to be going really well I’m so grateful I felt so lost after the chemical and hopeless so I’m delighted that Its going as planned so far this time. Keep us updated and sending all the positive vibes

Millie1501 · 12/06/2024 11:32

@koolkatxx My pregnancy is going well thank you. I am just over 12 weeks. My next scan is on Friday and I had my last one at 8 weeks.

I do feel for you both @koolkatxx and @LucyCL because I’ve have been where you are now and it’s not easy. I can only say that there is a very good chance you will both conceive successfully as a chemical is a positive sign that you obviously can conceive. I know it happens for some people very quickly after a chemical but not worry if that’s not the case for you. It took me 4 months after and for some people it’s longer. Fingers crossed it happens for you both soon though and keep us posted 😊🤞 xx

Not pregnant after chemical
Millie1501 · 15/04/2024 21:07

@Lou739 Oh thank you 😊, I am very happy but also nervous as well. So paranoid I will have a miscarriage after my chemical in December. I will be much more relaxed once I get the 12 week scan.
I had a lot of pms like symptoms, think my fatigue was worse than usual this time but it was a subtle difference to pms. I did get one weird symptom this time which started about a week after ovulation. That was dry sore chapped lips, so strange and didn’t have that with my son or chemical pregnancy. I’m convinced that was a symptom for this pregnancy but at the time I thought it was probably caused by something else. I had the same pms cramps (which I’m still getting) and irritability lol. I was convinced my period was coming tbh.
I got my husband taking fertility supplements and the past month we both started taking naitre supplements. After a lot of research I felt that they would be the best to take and that same month we conceived. They are certainly not the cheapest on the market but they are great, maybe worth trying. Here is the link to their site: https://naitre.com/collections/fertility

I have got everything crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞🤞. Keep me posted hun. Xxx

@Lou739 how are you? I hope you meds for the prolactin levels are getting sorted very soon for you🤞.

I am pregnant, I found out over the weekend. Just a reminder to you to not give up. I thought it may never happen 😆.

You’ve made my day!! What were your symptoms in your tww!! I’m currently 9 dpo and fingers crossed SO happy for you I really really am xx

@Lou739 yes I’m hoping it is better some months. Should be interesting to see what his next sample comes back with. Hopefully I will get pregnant before then lol.
I agree with the chemical being a positive sign, we should be able to conceive again and hopefully the next one is a sticky bean for us both 🤞.

@Millie1501 the word fluctuate sounds promising as that means one month perhaps might still have a good chance and other month slightly lower? I think its a good sign you got pregnant in the first place even tho was sadly a chemical like myself. The doctor keeps telling me the fact I could conceive, and sperm met egg and implanted etc (although didn't go further) is promising.

I think because it will be my first and I'm mid 30s I just feel the pressure to get another positive test. My AMH levels indicated they were on the lower side for my age so I'd have about 2 years left of good chance egg-wise, so I will keep ploughing on and hoping for the best and in the meantime will get my appointment for the referral from my doc. Wishing u lots of luck this month!

Millie1501 · 11/03/2024 12:50

@Lou739 That’s interesting, maybe your chances will increase once that is sorted. Hopefully they are getting that sorted for you real soon. It sounds totally fixable which is good.
We have also had some results last week. My bloods are fine. But my husband’s semen results have come back abnormal. It came back low for morphology, it’s at 2% and should be 4%- 14%. There is a lot of contradictory information online as to whether it will be a big problem with us conceiving. Apparently it’s something that can fluctuate so he needs to do another sample in a few months. In the meantime we are trying life style changes and vitamins to see if that improves it. The rest of the metrics tested in the sample were good. But not the results we would have wanted, I’m not holding out much hope for this month 😢.

@Millie1501 hope all is going well for you this month I got some bloods done and apparently my prolactin levels are extremely high (can mess with period and ovulation but I’ve been fine so far ) so need to get that sorted and will be referred on to get some meds doesn’t mean I won’t conceive in the meantime but can hinder it.
