@Noisinmaro your right I know and I dint usually let comments phase me either and I won't just disappointed that was forst one I got. But yes like ypu this baby will be loved finically secure, have 2 big brothers and was also my and my partners miracle baby. Just so looking forward to sharing being parents with him and seeing him be a dad to our very own baby. Let's hope the big brothers are not horrified mum's having a baby. 🤣🤣
@kittyfantastica why oh why do we jeep having.all these struggles I feel for you but stay possative even though I k kW this is probably the hardest thing for you right now. I have a scan at 9 plus 4 with miscarraige specialist to make sure no obvious abnormalities. Good luck be thing of you.

Noisinmaro · 06/02/2025 19:50

@KittyFantastica oh gosh very sorry after all you have been through...I suppose it like your getting answers what possibly happened to your ittle boy inna way...
But it's what no one wants to face...
I'm really sorry....

KittyFantastica · 06/02/2025 19:24

Thank you, your messages are incredibly kind and uplifting.

Unfortunately, my cervix measured only 11mm at 7 weeks, so the chances of it holding out are absolutely 0%. I'm booked in for another scan and cervix check at 10 weeks, and at 12 they will talk to me about possibly getting a stitch. The issue is, they can't be sure the same thing happened with George. It could have been premature labour previously that's caused it even, because I'd never have made it to 19 weeks with an 11mm cervix.

They're still keen on the wait and see and fortnightly monitoring, but I won't even make it to the 16 week monitoring appointment at this rate. We've contacted literally every single person in the pre-term clinic, the fetal medicine unit, bereavement midwife, EPAU, etc. and have had an appointment with the top obstetric specialist in the country and even he wouldn't commit to more than monitoring and progesterone.

We've contacted him again with the cervix measurement to see if he will change his mind, but his point before was that no one will want to stitch me because they don't actually know what caused labour. If they stitch me and I still go into labour, it could rip my cervix and render me infertile.

It's all very stressful. There's no joy and likely not even a light at the end of the tunnel. We're just in limbo for the next few months waiting to find out if this baby gets a chance.

Sorry for the miserable update. I'm not trying to be doom and gloom. It's all just so matter of fact for us now. No other way to see it.

Noisinmaro · 06/02/2025 19:11

@Racket81 I can say all this to you as I'm your age.....
You need to toughen uo, don't mind the comments, don't hear them, only one thing for you to focus on is get to 12 weeks plus and have a strong heartbeat, placenta where they want it...
After that it's all white noise...
I didn't tell anyone apart from husband till 18 weeks as I had to. Then 21 weeks told my sisters then at 22 weeks told my work wife, 23 weeks told other colleagues. Now I know why...cant be dealing with people...
That lady on reception where she knew you or not was 100% unprofessional....
What if you had cancer was going to say ah god love yeah the chemo treatment sucks.....
It's unwritten in her type of job description what you hear what you see does not leave the 4 walls... that also goes for having personal comments on patients circumstances....

Please don't mind her....
Your pregnant so thankfully and you are so so so lucky to be over that barrier....now you just need to keep the pregnancy and keep striving to keep healthy....

Please please don't mind that secretary...
And if your worried about what people think in general don't.. I'm sure your partner is happy...and you a childcare worker so your obviously well equipped to mind children I've no clue....this baby is a blessing a gift and I hope it goes well for you...
Put up barriers and block out the negative comments...

I got no smart comments but I've no kids but people seems so happy for me...people prob gelt.sorry for me ....you'd never know by me what I went through and how hard and devasting a time we had....so I certainly can't entertain negative comments regards my age...this baby is coming into a house with kind hard working parents, own home, nice garden very lucky baby....luve besude schhol and nice village, cousins near by...so I consider this baby a gift...my miracle baby
Rant over and chin up....

Sorry late reply I have been struck down with sickness bug from children at work so been bit rough. Glad the sex thing not just me.
Just went docs to pick up folic acid perscription and I know the receptionist personally family friend she said do you pay for perscription I said yes she replied haven't ypu got maternity exemption (obviously she can see on screen I'm pregnant) i said no it hasn't come through yet etc so she said when you due I said sept she replied my god you must be mad ( obviously she knows my age) . First person I know obviously who knows I'm pregnant as not told anyone yet and she said that not oh congratuations just made me start saying to myself am I mad is this what I'm gonna get all time becuase I'm 43. Was just a bit of a punch in the stomach thats all I know its gonna happen all the comments but that was first so just hit me a bit. No one gets that said to them at 38 or 39 even as it's common now for later age pregnancies but I'm only 4 or 5years older I'm not 50. 🤣🤣 think she felt bit bad when I said well. I have been trying for 3 years with 3 failed attempts.

Noisinmaro · 04/02/2025 08:24

Ha @Racket81 I defo haven't being interested in sex in early days or now even.
I was sick 4 or 5 times a day puking several times each round of sickness from 6 weeks to week 19 or 20.
So i was on carriban and still am on a reduced amount.
I get sick now round once a day every second day.
I was afraid too of bleeding, don't ask why, irrational fesrs were popping into my head in early days, I found early weeks very hard, now I seem to have very bad thrush I can't seem to get rid of with treatment.

@Kittyfantastica was thinking if your scanned even 2nd week it's very reassuring I was scanned 7, 9, 12, 14 was the NIPT, 16, 20, 24,.
I won't lie the 4 week jump was a hard wait but I took it week by week. Really 4 week is grand. In ireland public patients are scanned twice throughout whole pregnancy. Some hospitals only once. So any extra scan even is great.
You could pay for an odd extra scan.
I'm paying to be seen privately so that why I'm scanned that often. I'm not in UK.

Racket81 · 04/02/2025 07:32

I think maybe being 43 pregnant and working 10 hour days looking after 0 to 3 year olds is wiping me out x

Racket81 · 04/02/2025 07:30

Well said @Noisinmaro what loverly words.
Xxx
Anyone go off sex in the early days. I'm finding it hard to 1 find energy and 2 I'm just not thay bothered or is it just me. ?

Noisinmaro · 03/02/2025 21:34

@KittyFantastica thats great news. Am delighted, ill keep fingers crossed for you.
Congrats...of course, this is all hard for you... you had to go through every womans worst nightmare, and now you're probably finding every day hard to get through on new pregnancy....I was in turmoil until I'd say 20 weeks maybe once i told people as it got real for me and started to relax a bit...as its harder be uptight when so many were happy for me so I started to believe wow it's actually happening....
But George's delivery date was going to be impossibly hard if you were also not pregnant. But I hope you can find some solas and happiness eventually in this new pregnancy, which is a gift. I do understand a little bit of the fear. I hope everyone at work is nice and understanding. I don't think time makes things easier makes you get use to things. Lost my own mother young, definately never got easier I'm just more use to it as I got older. Life is hard, while also life is good.
Anyways thinking of yee 3...hope the 12 weeks plus rolls on fast for yee...

Racket81 · 03/02/2025 14:09

Mines approx 23rd sept however I will be collecting sec so maybe 14th Sept not sure yet till proper datimg scan. Mu two other children are goimg to be 10 on 13th Sept and 12 on 24th Sept. So seems Sept is the month. Lovely news @KittyFantastica ypir scan is so clear..xx

KittyFantastica · 03/02/2025 13:47

Hi @Noisinmaro, thank you for thinking of me. I can't believe how the time is flying and am so happy to see you're getting along okay. How are you feeling?

@RW269 and @Racket81 it's so good to see lovely news from you both too. I have absolutely everything crossed for you. When are you both due? I'm due 20/09.

I've been quiet as we had a consultant appointment with the lead Obs consultant in the country via Tommy's and even with all his years of diagnostic and clinical experience, he was stumped and wouldn't even take a guess as to what happened. He's recommended a few things like progesterone until 36 weeks, aspirin from 12 weeks, weekly scans etc (which there's no chance the NHS will do, so we will have to pay ourselves). It was a lot to take in and all the hope we had vanished into thin air.

We're approaching George's due date now as well, in 17 days, and it's just such a difficult time.

I'm 7 weeks today and did have my first EPU scan today for the new pregnancy, and saw a beautiful little blob measuring 7 weeks exactly. They pointed out the heart, brain and little limb buds. All we can do is our very best and keep pushing for the care we need.

Racket81 · 02/02/2025 15:08

Than k you @Noisinmaro I been waiting for this since sept 2021 so just got to hold on to this little beating heart. Xx

Racket81 · 02/02/2025 15:04

@RW269 thank you. I will look forward seeing each other's scans then. Xxxx

Noisinmaro · 02/02/2025 11:11

@RW269 @Racket81
Ah that's great news honestly that's makes my weekend.
It's such special positive news.
Thanks God I'll say a prayer for yee both I live beside a church and haven't been due to the storm and no electric so heading today.
When my consultant met me she said congratulations to us but said I looked frightened I told her I was very nervous. I was dying on the inside. I was grief stricken from my mis in May.

So during the scan she excitedly roared the heartbeat is over 160. I was so relieved same at weeks 12, 16, 20 and so on.
My consultant said to me at 9 weeks miscarriage drops to 7%.
At 12 weeks drops to 1%. I remember she looking at me for everyone that's as low at it gets. This is great news stop worrying.

So if any of yee can take that advice please do.
That's great news.
I really Hope your doing ok as well@KittyFantastica ??
My next scan is 17th May. So we all moving on in weeks please god.
Enjoy rest weekend.

RW269 · 02/02/2025 09:18

Hi Ladies glad your doing well @RW269 @Noisinmaro I have had 2 scans 1 @ 5 weeks and they couldn't find anything at all no sac went back week later and I had a sac with a faint.shadow thay looked like.start of something. Then went back again Friday just gone @ 7 plus 4 and I have a baby with a heartbeat. However they are suggesting I'm a week behind my dates amd measuring 6 plus 4 due to a 30 day cycle amd.laywr ovulation. Booked me for another scan with the miscarraige specialist lady on 20th Feb so I should be 9 weeks then as will showered but at this stage its a viable.pregnacy. can't believe it forst time i have seen a heartbeat as was no heartbeat on scans with previous pregnancies thay ended in MC. Still early days but its very possative news. .

Hope everyone still reaching their weeks and having positive feedback on scans...
I'm 27 weeks, had a bad storm in ireland last week, no esb for a week, back today, so apart from that all good and this insomnia I find myself having...
Seem to be suffering from bad carpel tunnel as well

Marie1990x · 18/01/2025 07:32

Hi Ladies
My god I've just read Ll the comments I've been at work just got home. Glad ypu are all.well pre and post babies. I struggle to keep up with you all. It's nice to k ow we have others to talk to especially when your not at that piont of loved ones knowing yet. I still feel fine no bleeding so looking kinda forward to next.weeks scan but also if I wasn't having a scan I could ignore it and be none wiser. Just want to see a baby on a scan as I haven't actually seen anything yet through lSt two pregnancies I miscarried. It's ironic as if I go full term this one is due 16th Sept and my other 2 boys are 13th amd 24th Sept. I was lucky with both my boys I didn't have any morning sickness and I felt fine all.way through till it was very tight I there at about 35 weeks I started to feel sick so I'm kinda hoping for some sick ess so I know I'm.still pregnant.

Lookimg forward to seeing each others scan pics. Possative thi king all round.

Noisinmaro · 17/01/2025 22:27

@Butterflyskies ah thanks...good to know...
As miserable as I was I think people like you did get it worst...I use to vomit violently then once I stopped I was grand like a new woman got on with my day I worked until 11 weeks then was off few weeks more so for a chest infection but am grand now back to work i.work at home as much as I can....vomitting is now down to once a day maybe 4 or 5 times in that bout...but then I'm like a new woman again...carabin defo helped me...
You poor thing you went to hispitalni know you here stories where people can't work...I was lucky in that once I got sick.i felt great again...
I find if I don't over eat...like eat small it's better...not to be full so eat half my lunch if im out fir lunch but i usually bring my own food or when I'm at home in evenings I plate a small dinner up for myself....

ButterflySkies · 17/01/2025 22:18

@Noisinmaro if you still feel sick, get on ondanestran - it is a miracle worker! I had severe HG and tried so many combos until i was admitted to hospital and it took the edge off for me massively on a good day. If I'd got on it sooner, they think it would have settled it nearly completely. Hope it does ease up for you lovely, it's horrible xx

Noisinmaro · 17/01/2025 21:59

@Butterflyskies yeah had a few weeks there approaching weeks 20 and for weeks after where I felt great the sickness disappeared...still had it at 16 weeks...but maybe was after that started to feel better..was nit needing naps or wasn't needing too go to bed early...
Tiredness kinda creeping back in now though...
Seem to be needing a nap after work every day now....
I still take carabin sickness tablets daily...
Don't be too hard on yourself...sure bleeding is an awful worry no joy there.....I was very sick got sick 5 times a days and got sick 4 or 5 times in every bout of sickness everything came up my weight didn't go up that my con from it...I still wearing my normal clothes?
Pregnancy isn't easy for some people ... but you're so grateful that you don't mind being sick and wrecked out etc etc
People tell me I'm glowing my skin looks great sure I vomit.daily and my face gets so so red every blood vessel seems to fill that of course I'm glowing....

ButterflySkies · 17/01/2025 21:51

@RW269 she is so thrilled! They are finally totally smitten, phew! Reflux is such a headache... your poor niece too. How's your nausea lovely? Sleep, sleep and sleep some more, really hoping it passes quickly for you! X
