Thought I’d make a new thread for those of us Ttc in February 2024. I know some of us will cross over from end of Jan to Feb! Wishing everyone all the luck ✨❤️

@KittyFantastica thank you ❤️ I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that goes from one to the other then, with no flashy smiley pre warning haha!! Also great to here it’s gone well for you this way

crazy that they didn’t pick up your surge!! And I’m really so very sorry to hear about your loss, it is heartbreaking and I’m sending you lots of love ❤️

thank you for the reference pics. Can I ask what the big monitor that says peak on it is?!?! Do you find that useful?

have everything crossed for you this month 🤗

MilkyAndFluffy · 08/02/2024 23:47

@FullMoon1917 thanks for your reply chick. Ooo interesting to know it put your ovulation earlier than it should be. And really interesting about the FMU / second or later in the day, I think I’ve potentially done that this month so wondering if that’s why it’s jumped up to my peak!!

well I was going to say I struggle when people say they go off CM because other than some white discharge in my TWW I never notice anything. But this afternoon I think I got very noticeable EWCM, it was really stretchy and clear, so I think that along with the static smiley, I can trust I’m ovulating! I would love to know why I’ve seen CM this month and no other month - cos that makes it much easier!!

I have everything crossed this is your month 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 they do say when you relax and stop thinking / Obsessing so much it tends to happen (how much easier that is for someone to say who isn’t TTC lol and doesn’t know the small window we have to conceive 🤣)

MilkyAndFluffy · 08/02/2024 23:43

@PenguinOnTheMoon thank you for replying 🩷 oh wow so it’s changed for you each cycle so far then!! And do you use FMU / start testing the same cycle day each month? I’ve only used clearblue the last 2 cycles, prior to that I was just using cheap ovulation tests but I got sick of trying to work out which line was the strongest and got obssesed with testing 3/4 times a day it was stressing me out (no judgement here for anyone who does do that cos that was me for 2 years lol, I just got fed up and thought I needed to change my tactic). So the 2 other cycles I had 1 or 2 days of flashing smiley before static. I think I do have a spike surge out of nowhere because over the years of checking my cheap ovulation surge would come out of nowhere (which is why I did so many a day around ovulation day), it would be super light then a few hours later could peak.

I feel for you having messy cycles, that must be really frustrating. Do you know if there is a reason for it, or if it’s just the way your body works? It’s a long wait, never mind having longer cycles argh!!! I’ve got my fingers crossed you got your static smiley, please let us know 🙌🏼

Hi @MilkyAndFluffy I too had a success

After 1 1/2 years trying in May but miscarried in July. I'm 42 ttc 3rd baby although my 2 boys were from forst marraige and last live birth was 8 years ago . I also have been having a short lh surge before my peak up until now. I have had some accupuncture this cycle which is a forst for me amd I had 6 days of high this time before I got my peak today. So as much as I can't be sure I also believe perhaps my body hadn't completely received from the MC even though I habe had regular cycles since. I did notice my period blood was heavier and more clotting up till my last AF too not sure if that had anything to do with it just how it has been for me personally anyway. I'm so hoping this is my month as I've spent £280 on accupuncture this month. Dtd this morn and hoping to get another I later and again tomoz while it's at peak. Dtd every other day up to the peak.

DaringlyDizzy · 08/02/2024 13:55

Joining after a freakily long cycle - 41 days!
Really hoping this is our month!!

KittyFantastica · 08/02/2024 10:44

Hi @MilkyAndFluffy, so sorry to read about your loss, that must have been so difficult ❤️.

I've never had a flashing smiley, that particular monitor has always gone from low to static for me, but they've been pretty accurate for me personally :)

The one month they haven't picked up my surge was December - neither of my ovulation tests did and I tested for 20 days! - and I had a positive test in January. Sadly, it ended in early loss.

I've attached a picture of my January peak for reassurance. Of course, we are all different, but I've heard plenty of times of therE being no flashing smiley. My data from this months shows I have a really steep and quick surge. My cycles have been 25-28 days.

@MilkyAndFluffy sorry for your loss and hope you get happy news soonxx

I personally don't trust the clear blue test as its shown me ovulating a lot earlier some months than the cheapie LH tests. I think it can be impacted if one day you do FMU and others you don't.

For this cycle I am going off CM and doing LH tests with FMU till i see a rise then do 2 a day. The cycle i conceived (but then lost) i just went off CM and it worked after 12 months of using the calenders and tests!

Hi all, have been silently following this thread.

congrats to all BFP’s so far 🩷

could I ask a question to those more confident of ovulation tests? I have been trying for 2 years for my first, fell pregnant last May but lost our little boy in August last year at 15 weeks. Prior to the pregnancy I always ovulated day 14-15 and had 26-28 day cycles. Since the pregnancy I’ve ovulated on day 17-18 each month and still had 28 day cycles. this has been the case for the last 6 months

I started clearblue testing on Tuesday (CD 11) and got a blank circle as expected. I’ve always tested earlier than I should each month just in case my cycle went back to pre pregnancy. CD12 (yesterday) I got another blank circle
then today, CD13 and got a static smiley. It’s completely skipped flashing smiley

pics attached of this mornings test, the second one down is the stick ive taken out of the clearblue monitor showing the static smile. The 3rd one down is just a cheap ovulation (I was checking that the clearblue test was right and wasn’t going mad)

so looks like I’m finally going to ovulate back like my pre pregnancy cycles and I’m wondering if my body is only just ready for a potential pregnancy again. Does anyone know if I should be worried that it’s gone straight from Empty circle to static smiley or if I shouldn’t be concerned?

good luck to everyone else on their way up to ovulation or in their TWW 🩷

Sorry for your loss :(

I did the circle to static smiley jump thing in Dec when I was getting to grips with testing and my cycle pre ttc. But in Jan I had four days of flashing smiley, and I'm on day six of flashing smiley today and still no highs on my strips I've started using too 🥱

So at least for me, it isn't like that every month so I don't think it's anything to worry about. Has it done this previously? I read somewhere there's different types of pattern, so I'm guessing you're a sharp peak and others may be more of a gradual climb?

As for the CD shift, not going to offer any suggestions as I'm varying my so much between cycles, and I'm clueless myself!

If I don't get a static smiley this afternoon and assuming a 14 day ovulation to period gap (which I'm guessing on), I'm on track for my longest cycle in over a year...crazy body!

Can anyone shed some light on what this dip means on my chart 6dpo yesterday? Went below cover line. Today 7dpo it’s shot right back up. I always have regular 27 day cycles and 13 day luteal phases.

I've heard some people report a temperature dip for implantation- could be that!

Lauren313 · 08/02/2024 06:50

@Limmers14 No I haven’t been on contraception for 5 years and yes I take vitamins. I think I’m just feeling the pressure because we didn’t try to get pregnant with our first, it just happened so this is a different experience! I’ll keep testing and fingers crossed it’ll just be a late ovulation 🤞🏽

Limmers14 · 07/02/2024 22:28

@Lauren313 hi! My last cycle was 35 days and before that was 38. Have you come off contraception recently? Are you taking vitamins?

I’m currently on CD23 and only got the flashing smiley on the clear blue tests today and a minor increase on the pre-mom tests. Don’t feel deflated! Monitoring all this stuff just makes it seem like we should all have perfect 28 day cycles but we don’t, there are lots of solutions and ways to monitor to help you figure your body out.

Lauren313 · 07/02/2024 22:17

My cycles used to be 30 days but December was 36 and January was 26, could’ve been through stress/being poorly but this month I’ve been using opks and so far no positive. I feel like I’m in the mood to bd more and have had cramping but cm has been watery rather than egg white. With the last two cycles being irregular I’m feeling deflated. Just wondering whether anyone would share their similar opk progression maybe with a late ovulation?

Congratulations @AppleTree16 - thrilled that this thread has had some good news over the past few days!

Can I ask a question about NC? How long had you been using it for, this is my first month tracking with them.

About three months. I’m still bfing my toddler so tracking ovulation had been a bit all over the place. I’ve found it really good! I was referred by a friend so got a discount. I can send you a link if you like?

Good news here too! LMP has my due date as the 14th October. Natural cycles has it as the 16th as I ovulated a bit late.

a bit sicky and tired but no major symptoms yet. Morning sickness really kicked in about 6 weeks with DD1 so hoping it’s not the case here too.
