Thought I’d make a new thread for those of us Ttc in February 2024. I know some of us will cross over from end of Jan to Feb! Wishing everyone all the luck ✨❤️

Huuuuge congratulations on the BFPs!! So happy for you all.

AF came for me today. I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve got a feeling deep down that it’s not going to happen for me. Poured myself a large glass of wine this evening and just focussing on next month. Eurgh what an emotional rollercoaster TTC is!!

Stramas · 09/02/2024 22:36

so I got a bfp yesterday. I guess that big dip was something to do with implantation and the big rise after. I’m being cautious as I’ve had a few cp’s before but I’m hoping this one is healthy and sticky.

@KittyFantastica Im so sorry to hear you're feeling this way though it is completely understandable and valid. This journey is hard probably one of the hardest and I can sympathise with everything you've said. I truly feel the same, after the loss, all i desperately want is those two lines again so I get it and it's heartbreaking when those two lines do not appear.
Take the time you need, if it's to stay or take time out from the forum then do whatever gets you back to where you need to be.
I'll also say, symptoms do not always mean something, i know because i've had symptoms in the past but it's been a BFN, same way no symptoms can still result in a BFP. All in all do take care of yourself. xx

KittyFantastica · 09/02/2024 19:48

Thank you all ❤️ I'm really lucky, I do have some fantastic support and I will be okay.

It's been a difficult start to the year. Found out I was pregnant, then four days later found out I'll probably be made redundant in March, then ten days later I had the chemical. A week after that, a friend of mine passed away and we really weren't sure whether to even go ahead this month with trying after everything.

We agreed I'd track ovulation and if it was looking good then we'd have a go. We got hopeful again and it felt like something lovely to focus on and aim for outside of everything going wrong. I'm generally quite a positive person, but 2024 is trying me hard.

MilkyAndFluffy · 08/02/2024 23:43

@PenguinOnTheMoon thank you for replying 🩷 oh wow so it’s changed for you each cycle so far then!! And do you use FMU / start testing the same cycle day each month? I’ve only used clearblue the last 2 cycles, prior to that I was just using cheap ovulation tests but I got sick of trying to work out which line was the strongest and got obssesed with testing 3/4 times a day it was stressing me out (no judgement here for anyone who does do that cos that was me for 2 years lol, I just got fed up and thought I needed to change my tactic). So the 2 other cycles I had 1 or 2 days of flashing smiley before static. I think I do have a spike surge out of nowhere because over the years of checking my cheap ovulation surge would come out of nowhere (which is why I did so many a day around ovulation day), it would be super light then a few hours later could peak.

I feel for you having messy cycles, that must be really frustrating. Do you know if there is a reason for it, or if it’s just the way your body works? It’s a long wait, never mind having longer cycles argh!!! I’ve got my fingers crossed you got your static smiley, please let us know 🙌🏼

Day 8 of the flashing smiley today! The easy@home strips are now at 0.55, so still negative but a slight increase on yesterday. I'm using the sticks in the afternoon as LH is meant to surge then, but also doing strips 4 times a day in the hopes of not missing it.

Got no idea on the reason why, as I only started TTC last month, so tracking ovulation is all new. My cycles have always been a bit varied in length and I'm on waiting list to see someone because of period pain issues...query endo. But cycles had started to stabilise in 28-32 range a little more over the last year. Perhaps I'm drifting back to more irregular cycles again...28 to 40 days was my old range.

I thought the tww was bad last month, but gosh the ovulation wait now is going to be nearly as long as this at rate and then I'll have the tww in top. Will it even happen!?

ButterflySkies · 09/02/2024 19:00

@Mrshaitchxo @RW269 honestly - ive not been able to handle warm dairy since i had covid in December, tastes awful still and makes me want to heave. So today, I ordered a panini, think me and DD can share it... immediately think im going to heave and my brain goes it's because you're pregnant... no just lingering old covid symptoms 😂

Mrshaitchxo · 09/02/2024 18:53

@ButterflySkies @RW269 glad it's not just me 😂 it's funny what the tww can do to someone ha!!

Mrshaitchxo · 09/02/2024 18:52

@KittyFantastica sorry you're feeling so down, it's really tough to stay positive sometimes and personally I have multiple meltdowns a week over it all!

Each cycle can be so different even if you think you're completely predictable and know what to expect, the body is an amazing, strange thing and can be completely different after months/years of being predictable.

AF hasn't arrived yet so try and hold on to that little glimmer, you're not out until she shows remember ✨

Take some time for yourself and do what's best for your mental health, sending you so much love and keeping everything crossed for you 🩷

ButterflySkies · 09/02/2024 18:50

@RW269 @Mrshaitchxo are you following my search history?! 😂

ButterflySkies · 09/02/2024 18:47

@KittyFantastica i am so so sorry - redundancy on its own is horrific and a lot for one person to deal with. How are you doing? Do you have support? Sending so so much love.

And I understand about the two lines too. I had an early loss in November and I completely understand what you mean. I think I subconsciously ruled myself out the next month as I just couldnt deal with it. I really want to give you a big hug and cry with you!

Looking after you and taking time to heal is the most important thing at the moment - if it happens this month, amazing. If not, it's ok. You definitely need to look after you and put yourself before TTC.

I dont want to speculate because i dont think it will help - but what I would say is that I had hardly any symptoms with my first until a missed period. Every pregnancy and every body is different xxx

Noisinmaro · 09/02/2024 18:44

@KittyFantastica sorry you're feeling this way.
I have feelings of despair regularly but I just have to stand tough, cause keeping your mind positive is so important. If you stay positive anything is achievable if you let yourself be negative it take-over your mind and body. Really all you can do is your best. Ttc after loss is very hard. I know fir me ttw is exhausting so this month I'm going to distract myself with walking and swimming. I just try keep busy. I'm really sorry you feel like this, you said you felt really hopeful when you managed to catch ovulation well. Some of us are struggling at pin pointing ovulation i know i am. So don't let anything dwindle your hope, you were pregnant before and will be again.

KittyFantastica · 09/02/2024 18:25

Hi test buddies.

Sorry to drop a downer into the convo, but I'm pretty sure I'm out. I've posted this in two other threads I follow, but felt sorry to let you all down.

I'm DPO10 and not had a single symptom. I don't think I'll bother testing as I'm just not mentally ready to see negatives after having to keep testing after my chemical to make sure it was all gone. I'd had a positive test by now last time, and definite symptoms. I just don't feel it at all. I feel pretty depressed tbh.

I didn't really expect to fall this month because of all the stress I've been under (redundancy), but I'm devastated anyway. I did feel really hopeful when I managed to catch my ovulation so well, but it's all dwindled now. After our loss, it's like there's a big hole and seeing two healthy lines on a test feels like the only way to heal it. Sounds silly, I know, but I've been waiting and waiting to feel those little bubbles and twinges I felt last time. I knew I'd know before any test could tell me. There's just nothing. I feel so empty.

I've found the last two weeks so hard. I've obsessed every single day, Googled a million different things to try and explain why I've not had a single symptom of even AF coming. The time has moved so slowly. I think I might need to take a little break away from it all.

RW269 · 09/02/2024 18:24

@Mrshaitchxo never heard it said better 😂 “I sneezed once, am I pregnant”

my google search has been called out

OP posts:
Mrshaitchxo · 09/02/2024 18:00

@ButterflySkies good shout being the designated driver! I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine just take it slow 🤗

@Czzpop I'm exactly the same, I cried a tiktok of a choir singing earlier 🤣

@Ren0991 ahh yay cycle buddy haha! So sorry for your loss, I can't imagine. Everything crossed for us 🤞🏻

@RW269 thank you - right back at you!

I think I'm going to treat myself to a takeaway tonight and watch a film while trying not to exhaust my Google search with the likes of '8dpo I sneezed once, am I pregnant?' 🤣

RW269 · 09/02/2024 16:56

@ButterflySkies still holding on being good not testing but it’s sooo hard haha!
Keeping myself busy currently making a crumble 😂
oh that’s a good idea being designated driver although no good it being a not so nice drive! How are you holding up?
@Mrshaitchxo got my fingers crossed for you! My AF is due day before valentines, happy pancake day haha! Going to be an anxious / exciting week for a fair few of us!

OP posts:
Ren0991 · 09/02/2024 16:30

@Mrshaitchxo

I'm in the exact same position, 8dpo and due on next Wednesday. Also trying not to think too hard on every symptom 😅, this is our first cycle ttc post a mmc in December so although I'm really hoping to get another BFP asap, I'm trying to keep a level head! I admit it's much easier to say than do x

Czzpop · 09/02/2024 16:27

@Mrshaitchxo
I'm also 8dpo and feeling rather off too, highly emotional and teary for honestly no reason... got a slight headache too and I never get headaches. I'm not reading too much into things though as I've felt off in other months and it's been nothing so just going to have to wait and see.
Hope everyone is having a Happy Friday! 😊

ButterflySkies · 09/02/2024 16:23

@Mrshaitchxo i was just thinking of you @RW269 @KittyFantastica @meepthebeep - how's everyone holding up?

I also have some off symptoms but i dont know if it's just the fact im on the end of a long week... my husband confessed that he is hopeful this month which is actually putting me off testing as he's normally very easy breezy...

Sending love and hugs this weekend, not long to go!

My SIL will definitely offer me a drink tomorrow and assume im pregnant if i dont drink at her pace, so i might have to put my big girl knickers on and be designated driver (its a horrible drive home from hers let alone at night...) x

Mrshaitchxo · 09/02/2024 15:44

Hi ladies,

How's everyone holding up this week?

I'm now 8dpo & trying to resist testing early but I'm sure I'll end up testing tomorrow 😅 AF is due on Wednesday (happy Valentine's Day to me)..

Having symptoms that are slightly unusual for me but I'm trying not to get my hopes up as I've done that in previous months which made the negative test even harder to see.

I've had mild cramps on and off pretty much every day since 2dpo, slightly sore nipples which I never usually get post O/as pms symptoms. The past two days I've had a bad headache and today I am absolutely exhausted! I've started getting lower back ache today & weirdly my legs are aching? Thats a new one lol! And overall I just feel a bit 'off'.

As I say this could all just be my body trolling me and I'm suspecting that to be the case so I'm not getting my hopes up (at least that's what I'm telling myself)

Hugs 🤗

FullMoon1917 · 09/02/2024 09:18

@MilkyAndFluffy thanks and hope you manage to hit it this cycle!

I struggled with CM till i read youre supposed to use 2 fingers and in a scissor action grab from right over the cervix and yes its gross but i was really able to tell once i started doing that!

I thought I had ovulated as i had a peak and then went from happy with the world to the start of being a down dog and very irritated with my husband which is classic luteal phase to me. But then apparently my temperature went down last night and my LH is climbing?!? How is that happening at DPO4.... I read its either ovulation failed and is attempting again or its the second estrogen rise.

The only cycle I have tracked properly with BBT and without even a sip of wine (even one drink messes with my temp) was the one I conceived so no idea whats normal.

This is the first cycle since my miscarriage though so maybe my body is just being weird.

Really wouldn't mind feeling like i did when i was ovulating! Poor husband feels hen pecked 😅

KittyFantastica · 09/02/2024 08:04

Sure, @MilkyAndFluffy! It's the Clearblue advanced fertility monitor. I got a second hand one from eBay as they can be really expensive new. There tend to be a few knocking around on there and they sometimes come with some sticks as well. The sticks can be expensive as well. I only buy second hand to keep costs down.

It was the first method of tracking I used and I've found it really good. I tracked for three or four months with it before we started TTC to get an idea of would/should happen. I fell pregnant first time, even though neither monitor nor tracker picked up my surge. I've since found out that I tend to peak late morning so test with second wee and a good hold.

Racket81 · 09/02/2024 06:40

Those of you using the clearblue fertility monitor does anyone know whether iys the first day of peak or the second day of peak which is actually ovulation day? O know it doesn't make a huge amount of difference but my acupuncturist asked me when I ovulated last month in run up to my sessions with her and I just wondered. I always thought it was the second peak?

Racket81 · 09/02/2024 06:32

Thanks@MilkyAndFluffy really hipe thus is your cycle too. Fingers crossed for everyone. X

MilkyAndFluffy · 08/02/2024 23:59

@DaringlyDizzy that is such a long cycle for you, bless you. Welcome and I am sending you baby dust that this is your month 🙌🏼🤗

MilkyAndFluffy · 08/02/2024 23:58

@Racket81 im so sorry to hear you miscarried your baby, sending you big hugs ❤️

Interesting to know the acupuncture has changed something in your cycle!!! I’ve heard of this before but never known or heard someone actually say it works. Honestly if this is the magical month for you, all those pennies will have been worth it!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I have everything crossed for you

it could be that your body was taking some time to recover, everyone is different. I had the same as you some heavy / clotty periods after my loss which I always had a light period before so was not normal for me. Sounds like it was our bodies getting back into a groove!

your DTD schedule sounds like you’ve hit every day and given yourself the best chance!!

because I thought I wasn’t ovulating till Monday, we hadn’t even started DTD. So we did this afternoon for the first time and will try tomorrow or Saturday too. Got the peak this morning so hoping we’ve still hit some key days! X
