I had my third at 37 . I just picked for mid cycle without any ovulation guidance kits and struck lucky 😊 Good luck OP 💐

Yes, I was 37 when I got pregnant and turned 38 at around 26 weeks.

Ftm.

Took a few years but realised I should have been more on it with tracking ovulation. I think if I took that seriously from the start (I didn't know tbh) I would have conceived sooner. I got the premom app plus bought a box of 50 opks on amazon, game changer.
Plus I got a smart watch to track my temps and logged my bbt on various apps and obviously apps for period tracking.
It was a bit all consuming, but in all honesty, i sort of didn't take it seriously for about 2 years then panicked and read a lot more about it and once I started all the above, it took maybe 3/4 months.

No issues and low risk.

Having to take aspirin for pre eclampsia preventatively because my mum had high blood pressure (she was 40 when she had me and in a high pressure, long hours job) I've consistently had low BP readings and doubt it's my age, its more because my mum had it and had me early.

The other thing... I think because I've gone off meat, at my blood glucose test around 24 weeks my iron levels came back borderline anaemic so I'm on 200mg ferrous sulphate/iron. Again, I don't think it's age related. Just probably lack of iron in my diet.

BTW, pretty much everyone, bar maybe one couple are late 30s in NCT Class and again, in my online classes, (The Honest Midwife)looks to be mid/late 30s.
All my friends have also had children at a similar age to me (one was 38 first time and 44 when she had her second)

May take a little longer but if you're fit and healthy you've given yourself the best chances :)

Where we live this is pretty much the age of the average middle class first time mum. Just too expensive to contemplate any younger

Doodledeedum · 08/01/2024 23:41

Started trying at 36
Third pregnancy successful at 37- gave birth at 38! ( first child!)

UnknownFemale01 · 08/01/2024 22:39

Yeah Ekster this is the (kinda) fun bit when your estrogen is high and you’re hopeful for the possibility, the TWW after is always sooo long and my mood totally crashes 😂 hard to think of anything else! The static smiley took 9 days to come last month, I was just about ready to throttle that stupid flashing face 😂

That’s definitely true that it’s reassuring that pregnancy is possible. Sorry to hear about your losses too, every other month must have been so tough to go through. Let us know how you get on 🤞☺️

Hello can I join? 👋 I’m 37 and trying for our first. I have been pregnant twice before, a chemical and then MMC at 10 weeks. I’m currently CD13 month two of using the Clearblue ovulation tests and waiting for that static smiley, DTD every other day while flashing smiley. I quite liked using it last month as I felt like I gained a bit of control around it all. It also showed me I ovulate way later than I thought! I do worry about my age but trying to be optimistic! Hopefully this is a good month for us all!

Hello! Sounds like you're in a similar boat to myself. I've been assured by many that despite all the horror stories, that 37 is a good age to have a baby and not too old at all. Sorry to hear about your losses - they are really not pleasant are they?! I am just holding on to the positives that it means that pregnancy is possible and hopefully the next one will stick. I am about 2DPO at the moment... the TWW is the worst bit. Good luck with getting your static smiley and then getting busy! ;-)

How's everyone getting on? I'm 37 and also trying for my first. It's been a bit of a journey so far. Started with male factor infertility at the beginning of a last year which we seem to have overcome and since July have managed to get pregnant every other month so far, 2 chemicals and one early loss at 6-7 weeks. Just started the TWW again and would love to have success this month. Glad to see others my age in the same boat...very comforting.

Hi all,

Thought I’d jump on as I’m TTC for the first time at 37 as well.

most of my friends have had children of don’t want them so I don’t really have anyone to chat to about it!

I came off contraception about 8 months ago but apart from one incident in October when my period came a week late I’ve had no luck so far.
saying that we haven’t been tracking ovulation or anything, just seeing if it would happen. I am going to start tracking this month if I can!

So lovely to see lots of you in the same boat 😊

I highly recommend hertility health
4 hormone and fertility testing
Used them twice
Spring 2022
And summer 2023

Best 150 gbp spent each time

Had my first at 36, second at 39. Conceiving the second happened much more quickly too.

I had my first child at 37, I have pcos so was worried it would make it impossible, I conceived after 6 month of trying.

Had no issues with my pregnancy either, only problem was a failed induction which led to a c section, but otherwise both healthy. Good luck 🤞🏻 you'll be ok

Lovely story and thank you

I'm 37 and trying for first baby. Started trying April and got pregnant in July, but sadly miscarried at 7 weeks..
Finding this TTC journey all consuming. Need to relax and stop obsessing, easier said than done though!

So sorry to hear of your loss - i know how hard it is

@worldwidetravel2017 so sorry that happened. I don't mean to sound flippant but at least you know you are fertile though. Maybe access some services that can help with what you need to be doing because of your age? I really don't know any but surely there's some advice that could help. Keeping my fingers 🤞 for you 😊

I had DC 1 at 34 and now 40 trying for DC2. I caught quick with first and all fine except emergency c section but that wasn’t age related but baby pooped inside me and heartbeat.
