Anyone ttc in 2024 after loss?

Lost my perfect little baby at the end of October. I was 15 weeks, baby was gone since 13 weeks. Planning to start ttc again in January. I am devastated and finding it hard to cope. Also extremely nervous about being pregnant again. Yet the need to have a living baby in my arms, outweighs the crippling fear. This little baby was my first too.

@Ella31 I'm so sorry for all you've been through. Please try not to test early, it brings even more stress and heartache and doesn't change the outcome. Sending you huge hugs xx

8dpo - bfn 😢 am I being ridiculous to be upset?, the last time I tested positive was 8dpo/9dpo with my twins.

Not trying to replace my sons but I want to be pregnant again so badly. I held my baby son in my arms as he died aged 4 days old and my husband held his twin brother who was born sleeping. Though tragic I knew at that moment all I ever wanted to be was a mother and yet here I am distraught that I'll likely get my period for the first time after giving birth 8 weeks ago.

Hi all, I'm so sorry to read of your losses. I'd like to join you all; I really appreciate the support on these threads. In just over a year we've lost our first pregnant, our daughter at 25 weeks and then after a break had a chemical followed by an early miscarriage. It's all been rather shit for want of a better word! Sending you all love ❤️

Hi @Vic231 welcome, I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter. Lost my twin boys at 29, before that i also had a mc and a chemical. Its horrible. Hope you are doing ok❤️

@Ella31 you are so incredibly brave, even though it probably doesn’t feel like it.

have any of you read the worst girl gang over? It’s a tough read I won’t lie but I actually thought it helped me.

when people say things they think will help but actually make things worse, someone said to me ‘some babies just want to know what unconditional love feels like, that love that only a mummy can give. Then that’s enough for them. They go and they take that love and use it to protect us and the ones we love the most’. That has really stayed with me and I feel that it’s quite a powerful belief. And so I truely believe that each and everyone of us have our little angels looking out for us and they will bring us our babies.

this is going to be the luckiest of all threads!!

let’s bring on all of those double lines.

And so are you. I was completely distraught after my first two losses and then I conceived my twins - even though I was robbed of them, I wouldn't change them for the world.

So don't give up hope, I almost had before my angel boys.

I agree this will be the luckiest thread please god.

Hi ladies, happy new year. It's 4 weeks tomorrow since the miscarriage. I'm hoping AF will arrive asap so we can get started ttc again. I'm feeling very low in mood, which I hope lifts soon.

@christmasmistletoe 4 many the miscarriage bleeding turns into / is kinda counted as a period

My last mc - didn't ovulate for nearly 9 weeks so don't worry.

@Nic2908 sorry you're feeling that way, it's so tough isn't it. A demanding job and miscarriage trauma aren't going to make things feel more doable at all, right. Be kind to yourself. You're right, small steps are absolutely the way forward! Well done for getting on the bike!!

@Ella31 wow, I cannnot even begin to imagine. I thought 16 weeks was tough enough. Did you ever find a possibility as to what happened?

Yes it twin to acute twin transfusion syndrome - rare at my stage of pregnancy. Gut wrenching as we were only 6 weeks away from my Elective Section. Only positive side is there's nothing to prevent it and its rare. Nothing to do with me or me trying again. Just so worried it won't happen for us again. Ive had two miscarriages and now this double neonatal loss in the last year and half.

I’ve got two positive ovulation tests one today and one last night. Was very worried it would take ages after a miscarriage

I lost my twin boys at 29 weeks - 2 months ago. One stillborn my other son died 4 days later. I'm trying again and currently 7dpo. Have back pain and sore breasts so feel like my period is coming. Feeling quite sad to think it's a period. Hoping 2024 will be a better year.

Edited

So sorry to hear of your losses
So hard

I am so so sorry for your loss, I lost my baby at 10 weeks just before Christmas and I feel I just want to be pregnant again and I'm struggling with how long that might take if it'll happen at all. I'd like to join this thread please.

Small steps are what its all about
Well done u

Nic2908 · 01/01/2024 23:32

My health really is not the best. I have a really demanding job, and since my misscarriage I am at least a stone heavier. I was already over weight also. I’m 37 and I feel like I don’t recognise myself anymore. I’m not sure what it is but I seem to have zero accountability to myself. This month is cycle one and tonight I got on the peloton for the first time in a really long time. Small steps is better than no steps right?

worldwidetravel2017 · 01/01/2024 23:04

Taking vit D :)
And FA

And lotsa fruit n veg

And have exercise bike

christmasmistletoe · 01/01/2024 21:09

I’m taking maca root folic acid vitamin d and just in general trying to be more healthy with water intake and choosing better food options. Not taken maca root until after my miscarriage so no idea if it will help.

Hopingrae · 01/01/2024 17:09

@moosey89 that's what I'm going to try and do too, be more active and make healthier choices. We're out of all the Christmas wine now, so that'll help! I know I'll feel better in general doing this, not just for TTC, so it's a bit of extra motivation. Haha totally agree with you about cutting things out completely, I'd scoff loads after a few days off!
I'm currently CD4 but it's first AF after MC so not sure how my cycle will go this month!

moosey89 · 01/01/2024 16:45

@Hopingrae I think I've tried almost everything over the years, when I've got pregnant it's been 4-5 months after I've started being more active and eating a better, more nutritious diet. By being more active I mean in general getting my steps up and choosing activities which mean I move around more, nothing extreme! So I'm going to cut back on the sugary treats, crisps etc but never eliminate them completely otherwise I end up bingeing on that stuff after a while anyway!

Hopingrae · 01/01/2024 16:27

Happy New Year ladies! Let's hope 2024 is kinder to us.

Is anyone planning to try anything different with this round of TTC? I feel like I'm tying myself in knots a bit about worrying that I've not looked after myself over past few weeks eating all the Christmas food and drinking alcohol. But I really felt like I needed it after medical management at beginning of December! You hear so much about egg health and not sure I've been doing myself any favours. Also not sure if I should be trying different supplements beyond standard pre pregnancy vitamins. Lots of people say they didn't do anything different after MC, the next one just stuck. I think I'm praying that's me.

One thing we have decided to do is get some private tests done to see if there is anything underlying as to why we might be having difficulties this time round. Feels like a positive step in a strange way.
