Anyone ttc in 2024 after loss?

Lost my perfect little baby at the end of October. I was 15 weeks, baby was gone since 13 weeks. Planning to start ttc again in January. I am devastated and finding it hard to cope. Also extremely nervous about being pregnant again. Yet the need to have a living baby in my arms, outweighs the crippling fear. This little baby was my first too.

@Bey vent away i'm in a similar boat, driving myself crazy way too early .doing the tww even though I don't even though if I ovulated and we only dtd once but had ewcm so went for it. So part of me is really hopeful as we got bfp with dtd once the last time..and part of me thinks it's unlikely given all that's happens the last few weeks.... Time is going so slow for me

Thank you @Ella31 i feel like I'm being ridiculous but I can't help feeling this way

im Feeling so anxious and irritable I just know I'm going to get my period in a couple of weeks and I am DREADING it I know I'll feel majorly disappointed and upset. I know I'm being quite ridiculous but I just want to be pregnant again as soon as possible. I feel like I can't cope with the disappointment of my period arriving and having to try and time things right to try again next month. Thank you for letting me vent

@Bey , I know there's nothing I can do to ease the anxiety but just hold in there. It will happen. The twi losses I had before my twins had me feeling exactly like that, and then all of a sudden I was pregnant with twins. Don't worry.

Bey · 06/01/2024 17:54

I hope so @Hopingrae

@worldwidetravel2017 it is 😞

worldwidetravel2017 · 06/01/2024 17:36

Pregnancy after loss is v hard

Hopingrae · 06/01/2024 16:45

@Bey I'm 40 in June and feeling very much the same way!
I was hoping to ttc again straight away but ended up bleeding for over 3 weeks and think I must have ovulated in the middle of that as AF arrived a few days after it stopped. I think the very first cycle trying after MC is extra hard as its so full of expectation/desperation to be pregnant again (based on my previous losses). Hopefully we'll all get there in time 🙏

Bey · 06/01/2024 15:57

@Hopingrae aw thank you for replying. I had a loss 2 weeks ago and we tried just after my scan to confirm all had gone from the miscarriage. I just think we probably missed the time window or o maybe haven't even ovulated at all yet. I just really really do f want AF to arrive 😢 as then that's it this month and it feels such a long time waiting in between. I know I'm being crazy I just want to still be pregnant but obviously I'm not so I just want to be pregnant again. I'm 40 in a few months so really feel time is not on my side.

good luck to you too, it's so frustrating

Hopingrae · 06/01/2024 14:33

@Bey it's all so hard going isn't it. This forum is for exactly that, so vent away!! The unknown really sucks, I've said to DH a few times i just want to know what's coming! Sorry if you've said already, is this your first cycle after your loss? I'm waiting for first ovulation after first period and already anticipating a very long two week wait and potential disappointment if next AF arriving. Even though I know what's happened it's hard to believe we're back here again.

@Ella31 I know, they're not exactly hard done by are they!? 😂 poor men

@Hopingrae that's so interesting... altho my opk was positive last night, I haven't had a temp spike on my BBT this morning so it seems I haven't ovulated yet. Did another cheapy opk this afternoon and it wasn't as strong. BF is too tired to DTD so not happening tonight. Hoping we aren't going to miss the boat! I guess we can try again tomorrow...

moosey89 · 05/01/2024 13:50

@Ella31 that's so good that the appointment has helped your anxiety. I'm trying to lose a bit of weight as both my previous pregnancies came 3-4 months after starting to be more healthy! If I can repeat that pattern I could be pregnant around May time again which would be amazing 🤞

Ella31 · 05/01/2024 13:49

Any luck today ladies? Just back from my gp, decided to have a checkup as my anxiety was bad the last few days. Was really positive and kind. And it's helped my fears about not being able to conceive again. Actually excited about the coming month now and the hope of a bfp.

Hopingrae · 05/01/2024 11:47

@Vic231 I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter. Sending hand hold and positive vibes to you for the next part of your TTC journey.

Hopingrae · 05/01/2024 11:47

@DiaryOfaTTCer good luck with TTC this cycle! I tend to ovulate between CD 12 and 14, so I sometimes gets positive opk on day 11 too. I'm on CD8 of first period and still spotting, I'm hoping ovulation isn't delayed too much! I feel so ready to try again.

@UnderstatedElegance any sign of AF yet? I found the waiting for first AF so tough, I just wanted to feel like my body was moving on. Hope you're doing ok.

Sending so much love and positivity to everyone on this thread.

It's been a few months now since my early miscarriage in Sept. We haven't really tried properly since as my cycles have been all over the place.

Trying properly this month and tracking the lot. I have had positive ovulation tests this evening on CD11 both cheap opk and clear blue. We have been have sex every other day anyway and I just told my partner we need to go again tonight - he looks shattered bless him! CD11 seems quite early to ovulate but hey ho we're rolling with it!

Xx

@DiaryOfaTTCer oh stop. The look on my DH face when I'd announce "another night of dtd" the poor souls🤣

Hopefully this will be it for you.

Ella31 · 04/01/2024 19:40

When I conceived before - I just dtd around my fertile window - wondering should i expand it out now. Probably dtd 3/4 days before ovulation and 2 after to cover base.

Hi all, I'm so sorry to read of your losses. I'd like to join you all; I really appreciate the support on these threads. In just over a year we've lost our first pregnant, our daughter at 25 weeks and then after a break had a chemical followed by an early miscarriage. It's all been rather shit for want of a better word! Sending you all love ❤️

I'm so sorry Flowers

I lost my twin boys at 29 weeks - 2 months ago. One stillborn my other son died 4 days later. I'm trying again and currently 7dpo. Have back pain and sore breasts so feel like my period is coming. Feeling quite sad to think it's a period. Hoping 2024 will be a better year.

I am so sorry for your loss. That must have been devastating for you. I'm keeping everything crossed for you Flowers

Ella31 · 04/01/2024 13:53

Af arrived but I'm really worried. My luteal phase was only 9 days/10 at most. Anyone here who gave birth have this before with their first period. I saw it can happen with breastfeeding but obviously I wasn't due to the loss.

@Ella31 I really feel for you. Its so hard. I can relate to how desperate you feel. After my first loss I so so wanted to be pregnant again that first cycle afterwards around 10dpo I got a bfn on a test and then I lost my mind a little bit going to a shop and buying one of every test as I just needed just one of them to positive and surely one of them would be. They weren't and it was brutal.
On another cycle for the bfp with my DS I didn't get a bfp until 11dpo. Only time can tell. If not this cycle, then it'll be another cycle. Sending love x

Thanks @Hopingrae , I think it's all the emotions too. Visiting the boys grave this week was hard and I know I have to deal with the grief too. Hope you are doing ok yourself

@Ella31 I'm so sorry for all you've been through. Please try not to test early, it brings even more stress and heartache and doesn't change the outcome. Sending you huge hugs xx

You are so right. I think I'm basing it off testing positive last time with my boys.

@Ella31 i am so sorry for your losses, so heartbreaking.

I tested negative 9 days po with my last pregnancy then went on to test positive a few days later when my period hadn't arrived so there's still hope. No of course you're not ridiculous to be upset, it's so understandable. I hope you don't have to wait too long to become a mother you sound like you will be a wonderful one.

Thanks @Bey , I miss my boys terribly. Giving birth to them was my proudest moment, it just didn't go my way unfortunately. That's good to know about the dpo, I've no idea when my period is due because I had a chemical last February, didn't get a period at all after, but ovulated and then got pregnant with my boys - so I'm nearly a year without a period.
