Anyone ttc in 2024 after loss?

Lost my perfect little baby at the end of October. I was 15 weeks, baby was gone since 13 weeks. Planning to start ttc again in January. I am devastated and finding it hard to cope. Also extremely nervous about being pregnant again. Yet the need to have a living baby in my arms, outweighs the crippling fear. This little baby was my first too.

Hi ladies how are we all doing?

I'm on 8DPO. I've been symptom spotting the last few days which I know isn't the best idea. Tender boobs and absolutely shattered - was in bed at 9pm last night and slept for 10 hours, and I'm off for another nap in a minute!!

I don't plan to test before my AF arrives, I'll just wait to see if it's late.

Hope you're all doing okay xx

moosey89 · 13/01/2024 14:54

@Hopingrae due 28/29 Jan, I'm helpfully working away until from the 26th to the 29th anyway, not ideal for starting my period but at least will take my mind off things 😅

Hopingrae · 13/01/2024 14:35

@moosey89 wishing you luck too! Good for you for holding out until after AF due. My AF tends to arrive on day 13 post ovulation so I'm going to hold out until 10DPO at least. When is your AF due?
@Sandwichesandwine I sometimes have spotting before AF for a couple of days. I read that CD1 counts as first day of continous flow... so if you're spotting that's not CD1 if that helps?!

Sandwichesandwine · 13/01/2024 13:19

I thought AF had arrived when wiping yesterday but then nothing more rest of the day (never had spotting pre MC so just presumed it was the start as normal) tiny bit more this morning but that's all so far. I can definitely feel it's AF on the way.
I don't know what day you count as cycle day 1 when it's a gradual start! 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

moosey89 · 12/01/2024 21:39

@Nic2908 @Hopingrae I'm on similar timings to you! Not doing opks this month, just dtd every other day as I needed a month off from testing but my cycles are pretty regular so it'll be a 3-4 day window max as to when I ovulated! Won't be testing during tww, will just wait for af to arrive (or maybe not) at the end of the month x

Hopingrae · 12/01/2024 21:24

@Sandwichesandwine welcome! How is the holding off testing going?! I completely get what you mean re it almost feels safer not to get pregnant. That thought has been in my head a lot... and yet we're here so we must have hope too, right? Wish you luck this cycle.
@Nic2908 amazing! I'm only a couple of days ahead, I got my first positive opk on Weds! We'll be in TWW hell fun together 😉

Nic2908 · 12/01/2024 19:57

for the ones that helped me though last month when my cycle was up the wall for no reason. Imagine my delight with a positive opk on day 14!!

@Hopingrae thank you. Its so hard isn't it. I know it happens to thousands of people and it can take time but just feels like it's never going to happen. Having a bad day today. Af finally came this morning, after thinking she was coming every day this week. Its always the hit in the face the 100% u r not having a baby, makes me so sad the whole day. So so sorry for your losses. Xxx

Gracie1825 · 11/01/2024 23:07

@Bey I'm sorry to hear that you got AF course you not an idiot..hugs X

Can I please join you all? TTC #2 been trying since about March April. MC in November at around 8/9 weeks.
Currently around 8 or 9dpo in my first cycle since the MC. Trying to hold off testing for another week. I'm desperate for a positive on the one hand but also scared of one at the same time as would just be worried of something going wrong. Whereas it's almost safer to just not be pregnant. Does that make sense to anyone? X

Welcome , of course it does. Just keep holding strong. It will happen.

@Ella31 it's so hard when our bodies don't seem to be doing what we feel they should be. I really struggled with my continuous spotting, I didn't know what it meant or why it was happening. It has stopped eventually, but only very recently and that was with a period in between as well. Can you speak to gp or midwife team to check for some advice? Sorry you're struggling x

Spoke to gp today, they didn't seem concerned. My lh is definitely rising and there was a little pink blood in the cervical mucus today.

Hopingrae · 11/01/2024 17:40

@miamiamia869 @mamataylor welcome to the thread and so sorry for your losses.

@miamiamia869 my first pregnancy was a MMC too and I remember so well the next couple of cycles staring at tests until my eyes went funny willing a line to be there. I really feel for you. I did go on to have DS 3 cycles after MMC. So there's hope. I'm now TTC #2 and had a couple of losses again, I'm 39 so think it's been very bad luck. Sending baby dust your way.

@Bey I'm so sorry AF arrived, that must have been so hard especially with the tests. You are 100% not an idiot. On to a fresh cycle, hope you're feeling ok this eve and sending a hand hold your way.

Hi Ladies, I hope you don’t mind me joining?

I experienced a miscarriage late November at 9 weeks. I also have one little girl who is 2.5. I’m on CD14 following my first period after my miscarriage.

My first pregnancy with my daughter was so textbook but I feel this time will be overshadowed with worry and anxiety due to miscarrying our last baby. So I definitely feel like I’ll find comfort in this thread knowing you ladies are going through the same.

Sending lots of baby dust and love to you all ♥️

Bey · 11/01/2024 14:07

Thank you @moosey89 & @Ella31

@Ella31 im so sorry you're having a rough time, I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your questions but I would think it's your body still getting settled hormones are funny things. You're still very very young in terms of your fertility. Could you get a doctors appointment for some advice?

sending you love it's so rough ttc after losses 😞

Ella31 · 11/01/2024 11:31

Ladies I'm really struggling today. As you know I got my period last Thurs - 9 weeks postpartum, it ended on Monday - 3 days ago but yesterday I had light pink discharge, very light - just a wipe on tissue and felt a bit crampy. I'm so anxious that something is wrong , and will this effect my chance to conceive again. I'm only 33. Everything on the Internet is negative when I look it up. I didn't sleep a wink last night worrying.

AF arrived this morning 😢💔 feel like such an idiot

Don't. Hoping is important ❤️ it keeps us going.

moosey89 · 11/01/2024 09:53

@Bey that sucks, but don't feel like an idiot! Happens to loads of us. Take it easy on yourself the next few days and you'll feel a little better once hormones level out again after your period. Big hugs xx

miamiamia869 · 11/01/2024 08:50

Hi all. I haven't caught up with all messages but hope you don't mind me jumping on. I too had a misscarriage with My first pregnancy in November at 12 weeks. Was a missed misscarriage baby had died weeks earlier. Like most of us I guess was convinced I would be pregnant straight after and that's what got me through. I know I am about to get my second af since that misscarriage. Been staring at stark white pregnant tests trying to convince myself it's a line but really it's as stark white as can be!!. This really is a hard hard roller coaster we are all on xx

Bey · 11/01/2024 08:40

AF arrived this morning 😢💔 feel like such an idiot

Hopingrae · 11/01/2024 07:33

@Bey @Nic2908 thanks so much. My DS slept through last night which has helped! Busy day at work today but I'm off tomorrow so will get a chance to chill out. @Nic2908 I'm starting a yoga course soon which I'm looking forward to and hoping that brings some zen into my life!

DH is away with work and he's back this eve, I got peak opk yesterday so hoping if we DTD this eve we're in with a chance. What do you girls reckon? Otherwise we'll feel like we've missed our first real chance since MC!

Nic2908 · 10/01/2024 22:57

@Hopingrae huge virtual hug aimed your way. What makes you happy? Maybe concentrate on that for the next couple of days?

Bey · 10/01/2024 21:47

@Hopingrae aw you poor thing that's such a tough one. Be kind to yourself and allow yourself to feel how you feel. Your feelings are valid and whatever you do don't feel bad for feeling how you feel that just puts more bad feeling on top of feeling bad.

This will get easier in time. It will be you soon
