@SMD16 welcome and I’m so sorry to hear your loss. It’s horrible isn’t it. We are all here.

@LuceNumberTwo im putting so much pressure on myself. I’ve not told DP that I’m checking ovulation so this morning when DD was in her bedroom on her iPad I was getting frustrated as we had alone time and he did nothing. He said all your caring about is a line on a pregnancy test and he said we thought we was leaving it to what’s meant to be and we are trying are we? I said well yeah that’s what we want and agreed. Men just don’t like the pressure do they! Feel really upset.

Linalou12 · 30/12/2023 10:26

Hi everyone, I’m here from the Dec thread. Knew AF was coming but still feeling disappointed to be at CD1 today. This will be month number 4 of ttc baby #1 for us. Feeling very frustrated as I feel like we are doing everything right, I’ve cut alcohol and caffeine, clear ovulation signs and dtd loads around them, using preseed etc. Still, trying to keep positive for January! Good luck everyone!

SMD16 · 30/12/2023 09:45

Thanks @starryx. I'm off to do the food shops soon and hopefully get some CB ovulation tests for a fiver at Tesco.

Hiya! Can I join you all?

I have an 11 month old (today) and am TTC #2, sadly suffered a MC on Boxing Day about 6 weeks along. Hoping my cycle goes back to normal fairly quickly 🤞🏻

Of course and I'm so sorry to hear :(

@LuceNumberTwo it is hard! We do put so much pressure and we’ve only DTD once so far. It’s so hard with our daughter here with us and she’s not going to sleep until late as nasty cough. Another day gone by. I’m hoping we can DTD tomorrow night and New Year’s Eve otherwise I don’t think the once will be enough :( Getting really frustrated. Of all times she isn’t sleeping

RadDarwazeh · 29/12/2023 20:56

Hi everyone hope we all had a lovely Christmas

Just checking in on all the messages I'm sorry it's been so hard for some of you ladies. It's really hard to be joyous for others who are pregnant when we all want the same too, especially if they're family. Our time will come. Have faith and trust.

Trying to take the pressure off myself but told dear hubs MY OVULATION DATES ARE HERE very obviously so he knows he gotta step up 🤣

Wanderingthroughparenthood · 29/12/2023 19:44

Hello all! Planning on starting to try for baby number 2 this January. I’m due to ovulate around 2nd jan.
baby (or not so!) number 1 will be 4 in April. Can’t believe how fast time goes we never planned to wait this long but here we are! Accidentally fell pregnant with them and then had another accidental pregnancy in June 2023 after taking all precautions which ended in abortion due to circumstances.
i hope I fall as easy this time again although I’m cautious after having the abortion that it may not happen so easy.
ive started taking some folic acid. I have to be honest I wish I could skip pregnancy and the first year as I found it really really tough. But needs must! :)

Anyone feel completely irrational? I’ve tried my best to act happy over Xmas but I can only think about conceiving. Doesn’t help that last night we were at a family birthday and my husband and his sister in law (brother’s wife) announced that her brother is having his fourth….. they can just pop them out apparently. I smiled and said congrats but felt teary. Pushed it down but then today I’ve been out shopping and went past a heavily pregnant woman stood outside Costa having a cigarette and I just started crying and became irrationally angry. Had to walk myself back to the car. Just feels so unfair. I’m so jealous and so irrational.

I suppose I hope this message shows that it’s so hard and I would like to give a hand hold to anyone who is going through the same. I get you!!! Although it’s not any bodies fault. It just feels unfair.

Edited

I think I could have written this, christmas is hard for people ttc...
I got a negative teat today, due AF in 3 days...wish I hadn't a test in the house...

LuceNumberTwo · 29/12/2023 17:38

@Newmumwales mumwales Big huge loves to you, its so difficult, especially as we've only got a certain amount of days to actually make it happen, it's alot of pressure! But you can cry, its fine to cry
Done my fair share this year 💖💖

Newmumwales · 29/12/2023 17:34

@LuceNumberTwo i feel really emotional today and can’t even begin to imagine how I’ll feel New Year’s Eve and if I get pregnant again. Hope we all get our BFP in January ❤️ hopefully I keep testing and get my peak and DTD again.

LuceNumberTwo · 29/12/2023 17:31

@Newmumwales I think you might still be ok if you try DTD tonight? If you managed Wednesday.. they do recommend every other day, and I've seen posts of women getting pregnant by dtd random days around ovulation, I think as above sperm meets egg plan it's called? Plus always remember sperm can last upto 5 days in the cervix! So don't lose hope 💖🤞

@SlinkMcSlink 1000xs yes! I've been totally like this, my whole Christmas has been great don't get me wrong but consumed & very tearful. My cousin announced her pregnancy on facetime Christmas day & I burst into tears. I had to call back, I am so happy for her but I couldn't breathe, my whole thought was why not me? It's like you don't want to be that person who's just looking at all these women who easily fall & pop babies out & feel the way you do.. But the wanting is just so so much! Hopefully this month is ours! 💖

SlinkMcSlink · 29/12/2023 17:07

@Swirls346 Around 19-20 months. I’m 35 as well so that’s playing on my mind. Under IVF at the moment but don’t get our feedback/plan from tests done in September this year until January 22nd and who knows how long until any treatment of needed.

Thanks for the listening ear though. It’s good to hear other people’s thoughts.

elleaddams · 29/12/2023 17:07

Hello gals

Back after xmas break and I hope you're all ok. My boyfriend and I are trying SMEP method this month

For those who don't know it's where you dtd every other day starting CD8, until you get a positive OPK, at that point you then you dtd that day and for 2 days after (different ways online have varying versions). We've been quite relaxed the past few months just being sure to dtd a few times around fertile window and ovulation but decided to give a 'routine' method a go while we're still both off work, less stressed and seem to have higher sex drives 😂

Maybe tmi but I wish my fertile window was over Christmas, life stress slipped away and it's been like honeymoon period returned 🙈

I tend to ovulate CD14-16 and we're starting today as I'm on CD8 so fingers crossed.

Sending baby dust to you all xx

Swirls346 · 29/12/2023 17:01

@SlinkMcSlink I have moments of feeling like this but then I put things into perspective and realise all the things I do have in my life. I do completely get you though, going to meet a family members new baby tomorrow and took her 1 month to conceive. We struggled conceiving our son who has just turned 2 and needed ivf but praying it happens naturally this time. (Hardly had period before and they regular now).
It's going to be hard seeing a newborn.
How long have you been trying? It's a hard slog.

@againandagainand I’m sorry to hear about your BFN. Join us lot for January.

@LuceNumberTwo im starting to think now we missed our peak. I DTD Wednesday and strong line yesterday and back to light today and tonight. We didn’t DTD yesterday as my daughter is with us and she was up until late coughing so no alone time 😞 I thought I was ovulating this weekend

againandagainand · 29/12/2023 15:05

BFN at 12po today, so I'll be jumping on the January attempt.
This will be my 5th cycle trying for my second child.
Starting to feel very despondent. I was certain December was our month.

LuceNumberTwo · 29/12/2023 14:48

@Newmumwales maybe your peak was yesterday? My strips never got as dark as usual this time! Have you only tested this morning? X

Boatlifelover · 29/12/2023 14:03

Hello everyone, was in the Dec thread but sadly af arrived today 😭 (changed my username I was jossiwood). Here's to the next cycle and fingers crossed for lots of BFPs !

Newmumwales · 29/12/2023 12:14

@LuceNumberTwo I’ve tested today and it’s light again? What the hell 🙈🤣🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Daisychain27 · 29/12/2023 08:54

@RWSS I’ve always been told you count your period from when it actually starts, red blood, as opposed to stop/start spotting, if that makes sense?

@Jess780 thanks for your advice! I wasn’t expecting to see a number that high, no clue what that’s all about! It’s definitely dying down a bit this morning on my test but will dtd over the weekend. Thank you

Makes sense, I did an ovulation strip and it was a dye stealer so I was peak ovulation yesterday and that lines up with counting my period from when it's red full.

Thank you hun x

MerryMissie · 29/12/2023 09:31

Hi everyone I'm officially migrating from the Dec ttc to Jan ttc as AF arrived yesterday!
Fingers crossed for a lucky Jan thread!!

Guys silly q but I started spotting on the 8th of Dec but full flow a few days later, flow lasted 10 days including spotting, and by spotting I mean not little amount, but like half a pad, when do I count my period? From spotting or full flow?
There is a difference of 5 days.
8th Dec or 13th Dec?
I'm confused as not sure when my fertile days are.
Past 2 days I've had light spot- would that be ovulation bleeding?
I'm so confused 😕 I had a cp in Oct which has messed my flow up 😩
