Just tested 6DPO and BFN. Think I’m out this cycle. Next cycle is Christmas week. 😭😭😭😭😭

Newmumwales · 11/12/2023 10:08

@Mumma8538 awwww I’m 6DPO and I’m so tempted to test again. Why am I doing this to myself? If you DTD 30th and ovulated the 3rd then you can catch as sperm lasts for up to 5 days? We DTD 3rd and I ovulated the 5th apparently. It was half and half though as alot come out. Sorry TMI. When are you going to test? How are you feeling? How many days are you now?

morning all, I did my test 8DPO and BFN. My boobs are super tender so thought would give it a go. @Newmumwales I think it’s the feeling different for me , i think I mentioned with my first I just had this feeling ‘ I was pregnant’ and I have it again but it could just be because I’m older ‘ I’m hoping’ more that it will happen. What made you test last time?

a question- my app says ‘ ovulated’ Sunday 3rd but dtd 30th but isn’t it the egg can only last for 12-24 hours . So would mean I ovulated 29th,30th or 1st?

@elleaddams I meant to ask, what do you mean by changes in the luteal stage?

The phase of your cycle between ovulation and AF. Where you either concieve, get PMS, early signs of pregnancy etc ☺️

It's goes period > follicular > ovulation > luteal. All the apps I use over the years refer to those stages so I know where my body is at

Mumma8538 · 11/12/2023 07:39

@Alittlebitscaredtotest oh you must be feeling a mixed bag of emotions! When are you going to test , I would be there now doing it! Good luck ! There is no winning with us ladies and emotions. How many children do you have?

We madly decided to have one last go in our 40s, my period is due today and I feel pregnant, I’ll be upset if it’s a bfn and panic if it’s a bfp because although we planned it I suppose I had resigned myself to thinking it wouldn’t happen given my age so it will be a wonderful shock with a bit of mad panic and delight.

@Mumma8538 You know what, I’m second guessing everything now. I do get sore boobs and do usually scoff my food but it does feel different and noticing little fluttering but then I think it’s my mind playing tricks on me. We only BD once! I personally think my first proper cycle one will be when AF comes in about 11 days. It’s all so confusing isn’t it. I remember thinking it was all just PMS symptoms with my first and then two days before AF I tested and it was positive.

@elleaddams we are on the same cycle and same DPO. Well I’ve gone on what the app Glow says. Not entirely sure when I ovulated.

Mumma8538 · 10/12/2023 21:59

@Newmumwales This wait I feel you 😵‍💫 do your boobs get sore before AF is due and eat more normally or is it different!?

@PinkFlamingo888 I’m the same I don’t think I’ll believe it until AF is here because I’ll just think, test was too early! One more sleep down .. getting there !

@elleaddams hello welcome to the wait with us ! We are all roughly around the same time so I hope we all get good news at roughly the same time. Have a good old cry ! I haven’t had teary but snappy but I get like that just before my period. Your DH is good getting you chocolates , sweet!

@Karinx is it just because we are so aware of our bodies that we notice everything, hoping ! How do you ever work out when you implant if not by BBT?

Karinx · 10/12/2023 20:51

Mumma8538 · 09/12/2023 19:28

@Karinx pur bodies are strange things… I think come on you could of made it different with early pregnancy symptoms and AF brewing symptoms then we wouldn’t have to wait for the test ! Is 8 DPO a good time to test, this is information I am not clear on as I thought you just waited to the day after AF due?!

It's still early but I'm impatient so just don't think I will be able to wait. If implantation has happened at 6DPO then it could give a positive result

I am still getting symptoms, my inner thighs and hips are aching today, some lower back ache and cramping...but again I noted some of these down last month too. I just need these next few days to pass so I can test!

elleaddams · 10/12/2023 20:39

Hi all!
I'm 4DPO, CD18 in cycle try #2. I'm quite a hardy person, but since yesterday I have been so WEEPY. I sobbed at I'm a celeb and strictly, and ugly cried when my DH got me my favourite chocolate last night (he always does this and I never cry over it!)
I'm also really bloated and feel different but I don't know if it's all in my head 😭😂 any one else been pregnant before and noticed changes in their luteal phase?

PinkFlamingo888 · 10/12/2023 20:11

@Mumma8538 its such a minefield and everyone I speak to tells me different things!
AF is due on the 18th so I think will test in a few days, but even if I get a BFN I won’t believe it! It’s such a fine line between being optimistic and delusional!

Newmumwales · 10/12/2023 19:52

I’m only 5DPO. I tested yesterday as bought loads of tests off Amazon and negative. As if will show. My boobs are starting to get sore and literally scoffing my food. Bit of nausea at times too and drinks not tasting the same. This wait 😭😭😭😭

Mumma8538 · 10/12/2023 19:39

@PinkFlamingo888 From what I’ve read some people get no symptoms at all where as others get a whole range of symptoms… so it could well be… maybe test in a few days and see what it says? When is you AF due?

this area before is strange, it’s like should you drink as most people who aren’t ttc would have a drink and won’t be none the wiser they are pregnant but when you are more aware and waiting for a BFP is it naughty to? You probably don’t feel like drinking which helps . I don’t have drink plans until Christmas and I should know by then for sure !

OP posts:
PinkFlamingo888 · 10/12/2023 18:22

Oh and just to add, I am NEVER ill. I can be around the germiest of people and won’t pick anything up. The last time I had any sort of sickness bug must have been primary school and I’ve not been physically sick for as long as I can remember (except through alcohol!). The only slight positive is I have my work Christmas party tomorrow and didn’t know whether to risk drinking or not. Now I won’t be going so at least that problem is solved! 😂

PinkFlamingo888 · 10/12/2023 18:17

I am 6/7dpo today (I think) and have been feeling nauseous for the last 3 days. Pretty mild and still going about my day to day life ( I have a very physical job). Today the nausea is unbearable , can’t get comfortable, stomach pains etc. I’ve not actually been sick but have had awful diarrhoea (sorry tmi) and been feeling hot and sweaty then cold and shivery.
I know it’ll be nothing more than a nasty bug but I’ve not been around anyone else that’s been ill (to my knowledge - colleagues, DH all fine) and I’ve not eaten anything likely to have upset me (exact same food as DH and no meat for a few days).
Am I being ridiculous to convince myself that this must be some sort of implantation symptom? Has anyone heard of anything similar. My friends are telling me to test but they’re not TTC and I think it’s still too early and will only add disappointment to my already terrible day!

Mumma8538 · 10/12/2023 18:06

Happy Sunday @Soulsta thats is the other thing to think about because if the cramping isn’t to do with ttc then I will need to go to the dr’s as well as I would worry something isn’t right.

I don’t know the statistics on CP but I think people are more aware of it these days with the early detection tests out there. I think go back 10 years it was always there but people would of thought it AF.

i am sooooo tempted to test in the morning, i have one so bet i do 😬

OP posts:
Soulsta · 10/12/2023 16:54

Hi @Mumma8538 , 7dpo is quite early tbh, but the throbbing cramps are so random I had to check just go be sure! I guess any positive could result in a CP regardless of when it's tested. Not sure what the chances are, but it seems quite common.

I'm starting to think it's not related to ttc, so will give drs a call tomorrow.

Good luck and keep us posted on your test😊

Mumma8538 · 10/12/2023 13:26

@Soulsta Hiya, that’s a very good point actually I suppose then you know if you are having issues with implanting ? I’m 7 DPO today as well and last night I was having cramping and shooting pains. I will probably test at 9/10 DPO to see if anything shows. At least testing helps the count down 🤷🏼‍♀️ do people get BFP as early as 7DPO and it can turn out to be a chemical pregnancy ?

OP posts:
Soulsta · 10/12/2023 09:37

Hi All

Confession, I took a test and got BFN. Was getting a little concerned due to the ongoing dull cramps, realised I wouldn't pick up a CP (chemical pregnancy) unless I'm testing, important to know what's going on with my body.

7DPO now, if cramps continue will do another test in a few days.

The TWW is no joke, testing or not!

Mumma8538 · 09/12/2023 19:28

@Newmumwales small world ! I use an app called stardust, don’t know how accurate it is but I like reading about the symptoms of your cycles … they are very accurate for me anyway! We have only decided to TTC at the beginning of Nov so think we are super chilled about it this month at doing the deed but ask me again in a few months and it might be a different story 🤣 I was the same with my first we fell in the first cycle, with one deed so I’m just wishful thinking it can happen again.

@PinkFlamingo888 oh I am here for your Christmas movie ending , it will be ever so magical… maybe your body has been waiting to deliver your magical moment ✨ I seem to only get ovulation cramping every other month on one side… it’s the side I have a cyst on so makes sense… well I am routing for your Christmas magic!

OP posts:
Karinx · 09/12/2023 16:51

@Mumma8538 I've been experiencing some aches and cramps the last couple of days, feeling exhausted and creamy CM (which I've read can be a symptom 🤷🏼‍♀️) but I had a lot of these last month too which ended up being nothing so not reading into it!

I'd love to say that I'll wait until AF is due on the 19th but I know full well I'll be testing come around 8dpo 🙈

PinkFlamingo888 · 09/12/2023 14:14

Hi, this is my first post but been reading this forum for a while! I am 29 and got married end of August. I had my coil out just before the wedding so have been trying since (although not especially hard, no tracking ovulation or anything). I’ve started using an app and think we dtd a couple of time in my fertile window. I usually get ovulation cramps but didn’t notice them this month so fingers crossed the timing was right! AF is due 18th and my plan is to do a test Christmas morning if AF hasn’t shown up by then, as hopefully with it being a week late it should be almost a certainty. I am usually very regular, so have never been over a week late.
It’s going to be a very disappointing AF if she does show up as I’ve fantasised my life into a Christmas movie! Keeping my fingers crossed for all our Christmas miracles!!

Mumma8538 · 09/12/2023 12:36

Hello @Internette i have read on other posts that people have said the clear blue ones aren’t accurate and best to go with a pink strip one? Maybe you could try that…. On my last pregnancy , I didn’t get a positive until 2 days after AF and that was with a clear blue ….it must be hard for you but try and keep positive and think if you don’t get a BFP you can eat all the cheeses and sink down with wine… but it could just be is too early !

@Karinx welcome to the waiting game… which symptoms have you had… when do you think you’ll test?

@Newmumwales snap you are on the same cycle and baby number as me 🙃 we only did the deed once and was about 2/3 days before ovulation- but that’s going by an app not testing. Do you test for ovulation?

@Soulsta i have been having cramping and I only normally get that 2 days before AF and I can go for a poo multiple times a day but I’ve been constipated also 😵

ha fair enough @Impatient1987 at least you are honest ! The wait is long enough to be fair ! It’s funny isn’t it how people can change their minds and then want more than 1. I don’t think you are bonkers as everyone is very different, but I’m not sure I could personally have a 2 young ones, I am also 38… so thinking time is against me too! I haven’t had night terrors but vivid dreams they have been a bit wild 🤪

Thank you 🙏

Newmumwales · 09/12/2023 12:39

We are most definitely on the same cycle, similar age I’m 40 and this is also baby number 2 for me. And you also did the deed once like me haha! I don’t track ovulation. Just go on what Glow or Flo apps say. My first I caught straight away more or less. Hoping this one won’t cause me grief lol x
