People falling pregnant first month!?

I feel like this is more common than we're led to believe

Among my friends, all late 20s early 30s, about 9 of them conceived first month and 3 others month 2 after saying they think they hadn't time their ovulation dates right. So, accounting for the ovulation dating mistake, it's really still the first 'proper' try.

My best friend also just fell pregnant first month. She feels unprepared, said she was expecting it to take 6 months or so, as that's what lots of relatives told her, so she started trying earlier to account for that.

It can be deflating if you're the only one that's been trying for a while!

I've believe it's around third of couples conceive first time and most others will conceive within a year. It's only then 10% of couples who struggle with fertility issues beyond that.
But it's all so random and unfair!
I know it is deflating when it feels everyone around you is falling pregnant and making it seem so easy.

I have fallen pregnant on the first month of trying with 2 different men. Both times I was expecting it to take around 6 months.

Hi @NervyBee I definitely know what you mean. I seem to know a lot of people who are super fertile coming off the pill - one of my bridesmaids and my sister in law both conceived first month coming off the pill. Another very good friend of mine started ttc in February and fell pregnant in March, and another one of my bridesmaids fell pregnant on her honeymoon. And yet here I am 12 months later never having had a glimmer of a bfp!

I found that Day 16 of my cycle was very good for conceiving. At the time, all the information was to focus up to day 14.

Some men try and try and it just doesn't happen for them

I think some women (def not all) make out they conceived more quickly - earlier months don't count because they weren't trying/tracking ovulation/got dates mixed up. They don't genuinely count from when they first had unprotected sex. Take it with a pinch of salt.

Bear in mind that getting pregnant quickly doesn't mean you'll have a baby sooner. I had no issues getting pregnant but had 2 MCs in a row. I'm pregnant now due 20 months after I first conceived.

Everyone is different, we conceived the first month but one friend tried for 4 years. Nothing medically wrong either. I've had 5 friends do IVF also all in the last 2 years.

Took me 14 months to conceive.. I then had a miscarriage and conceived the first month after that leading to a successful pregnancy.

People who are less likely to talk about it taking longer than they like than people who are successful straight away
