Have just had a strange conversation with my mum (we're quite close) all about how we're going to afford our barn conversion etc, had a bit of a blub 'you've been grumpy with me' 'no, you've been grumpy with me' air-clearing type, and I really wanted to blurt out 'I want another baby!' but just about held it in.

Then I sat down to read the Mothercare catalogue with DD1 (it's her favourite thing and she's feeling a bit poorly) and she pointed at the little babies and said 'I want one' so I found the maternity section and showed the big tummies 'would you like me to have a big tummy like that?' I said, she replied 'with a baby in?' [big wide eyes]

Ooooooooooooooooh, I'm so excited, she's going to love her new little baby!

Pinkgirl - that does sound very promising - hope you are one of those lucky ones who fall first month off the pill!

Diege - nah no chance will be prego - am sure of that Yep, hopefully by the time we start trying I will know my cycle inside out, upside down and will know exactly when I'm ovulating - well that is the plan anyway!

I'll pass six month job probation in August (all being well) .. so theoretically we could just go for it September/October time......eekkk, just can't make up my mind!!

pinkgirl30 · 15/03/2008 13:33

cheers

lardylumps · 15/03/2008 13:28

MoosMa · 15/03/2008 13:10

Ah but I had my mum round 8-8 for 2 weeks after she was born so I didn't have to do much! It was just nice that even though I couldn't do much DD1 knew where I was (she was only 17.5 months at the time).

This time I have a dishwasher so it will be even easier!

lardylumps · 15/03/2008 12:46

I was on the pill before so that regulated my cycle, only stopped last month.. That is good to hear about your cramps etc, fingers crossed that all is not lost then!!!!!

Diege · 15/03/2008 12:36

LL, is your cycle usually quite irregular? On a positive note, each time I've been pregnant I have had af cramps from when I ovulated until several weeks after I got a bfp - so it's it's a symptom of pregnancy for me!

Diege · 15/03/2008 12:34

Hi COsmo, Moosma . Cosmo, it does take some women several months before their cylce gets back to normal. Having said that, by the time you ttc you will be such an expert at symptom-spotting. I suppose there's no chance you could be pregnant this month then??
Moos, I have to admit that you are a far better person than I with your motivation for birth place...one of the benefits of a hospital birth for me was getting a break from the dds , and no cooking, cleaning etc!! My dream is one of those 1950s maternity wards where they put the baby in the nursery so I can have a good night's sleep after the work of labour! Funny how they only have those types of facilities at places like the Portland . Yes, I am slack-mum . Like the idea of being tucked up in my own bed with newborn baby, but a bit about not getting much of a rest at home!

lardylumps · 15/03/2008 12:31

I hate to say it but I am feeling really moody and have stomach cramps, also feel really bloated. Basically feel like AF is coming early (not due until next saturday).

lardylumps · 15/03/2008 11:17

Thanks mo i will.

MoosMa · 15/03/2008 11:15

MOrning all [waves to everybody]

LL, DD1 was back to back and got twisted and stuck, ended up with cuts and ventouse, 26 hours labour in total! DD2 was born at home, 4 hours of labour, 8 minutes pushing, so it can be done!

When I got the idea of a homebirth in to my head, I said right from the start that if DD2 was in a good position I'd give it a go at home, but if we had the slightest doubt that she might be turning back to back then I'd go to hosp, no messing about. Having a MW with me at home was great as she could keep a really close eye on us and would have spotted straight away if there was problem.

The other benefit was that I didn't have to spend any time away from home so was here for DD1 when she woke up the next day so less hassle for DH! Get your DH to read this and he may change his mind!

Hi Teuch,

Yep....December sure is a long way off, but who knows, maybe I will be patient enough - but the jury is definitely still out!
Yes, stopped pill had normal withdrawal bleed and then nothing since. This weekend would be when pill bleed would have come. TBH it would be nice for my cycle to get back to normal quickly but am not expecting it to.
Am curious as to whether I have ovulated to' because have had practically no visible CM and just weird cramping in tummy on and off. Only curious because of everyone saying you are super fertile when you first come off the pill...

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 15/03/2008 10:24

Hey Cosmo...where you been?

So have you had a withdrawal bleed already? I would say that your cycle willprobably take a few months to settle so don't be too worried about symptom-spotting just yet!

Hmmmm, the question of whether you can wait 'til December is a tricky one...the evidenec on this thread would say NO!!

Cosmogirl · 15/03/2008 10:07

Hi girls,

Not been on in ages so fraid am completely out of touch, but just feeling really broody today out of nowhere, so thought would pop my head in and say hi! Pill period would have come this weekend, so I'm keeping everything crossed that real AF comes to visit tomorrow.... Had crampy feelings on and off since I stopped the pill and have had hardly any CM/discharge - don't know if that is normal when stopping BC??!

Anyway, wondering if I am going to be able to hold out until December at this rate....

xx

lardylumps · 15/03/2008 10:03

Morning ladies, I had a late pudding as well NJ and very nice it was too. Teuch fingers crossed for you lets hope your dh's swimmers are a bit slow this month and the gof you had the day before will cover OV.

NJ have fun in the kitchen today wont you

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 15/03/2008 09:58

To be fair NJ, it is all supposition and guesswork

But it makes sense to me!!

pinkgirl30 · 15/03/2008 08:44

thanks teuch:0

NatalieJane · 15/03/2008 08:36

Teuch, you blow my mind with how much you know about your cycle! I kind of know when I am OV'ing, but I couldn't put it down to one day and then know how much chance I have! Fingers crossed it will be enough for you, we really need a BFP on here, we've gotten close a couple of times now!

Right I must go and start the kitchen, in fact I am going to get showered and dressed before I start, else I won't do it!

See you all later, if not, have lovely weekends, and I'll see you on Monday xxx

NatalieJane · 15/03/2008 08:27

OMG, actually, after reading Teuchs coment on him looking like his picture, went on search for face details, and I found it (bloody hell, that is a first!!) Wow!!! He does look spitting image of the picture below! One of DS2's is pretty clear, you can see the simliarities between the scan pic and his new born pics, but it isn't as clear as that!

LOL only took me 10 minutes to find a very clear image of his face!!

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 15/03/2008 08:24

I have a feeling I have a very narrow window of opportunity...

I get a very brief LH surge, which is followed almost immediately by OV. I suspect that the surge happens and by the time it is evident in urine, I am pretty much OVing. Apparently the egg lives around 12 hours, but it takes the wrigglers hours if not a day to get there!!!

Oh well, maybe yesterday's antics will be enough. Conception rates only around 10% or less on day before OV...

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 15/03/2008 08:20

Sorry, I just crashed on and ranted...

Deige - poor eyes! Not good.

Cal - that picture is bloody spooky He looks just like the pic below it!!

Dis - bugger bugger bugger! Loads of luck for this cycle and be better than me!!

Pink - hanging in there!

NJ & Kay - aawwww, big weekends for you both. Have loads of fun!

Big wave to everyone else

NatalieJane · 15/03/2008 08:20

Ooooooooh Cal, on further inspection of the scan picture, does he have his head to the side, with his arms folded across his chest?

NatalieJane · 15/03/2008 08:18

LOL Teuch, you would still be covered today, and from before, will probably be a boy though! Well, apparently, according to the mumnet rule book! (covering myself, don't want to end up being sued, when it turns out to be a girl!!! )

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 15/03/2008 08:16

Oh no...I am so pissed off at myself!!

Bloody pee on sticks for days and when a +ve finally comes along we conk out on the couch watching a film and forget to actually have sex!!!

I would usually guess OV the day after +ve but I had lots of pains yesterday and cervix all but disappeared. CM dried up today, but might try and sneak DH in during nap time .

I'm a fucking fuckwit

All that sex...wasted....
