Clear blue evaporation lines

Out of curiosity why do the clearblue (6 days early ones ) always have a evap line after 10-15 mins. Tried with water and no evap lines . But with urine about 10 tests have had evap line after time. Does it pick up LH maybe?

@Bluebella27 i’ll retest in the next few days to see the outcome and i can’t see your photos of the evaps for some reason

Hi @suzanneg22
I absolutely hate clear blue blue dyes! I'd be inclined to say they're evaps, I think 10-15 minute ls too long and the line is usually thicker for positives... my advise would be to retest with pink dye tests....

Here's what my evaps looked like
Good luck xx

suzanneg22 · 19/03/2024 14:27

it’s got no breakages it’s just a really thin blue line

Hey i really need help with mine these are all within a 10-15 minute time frame but they’re all showing different i don’t know what to think, ive just realised the quality of the picture is awful and you can’t even see the line on the clear blue

@Pat92 hi lovely, realised we didn't get an update on this thread - how did you get on with your other tests? Xx

Pat92 · 21/11/2023 19:49

@Mrsttcno1 thank u, I’ll pop down to boots tomorrow at some point I think 😂

Pat92 · 21/11/2023 19:49

@NLmum4 thanks, I’ll wait a day or 2 longer then… I’m not a very patient person 😂

Mrsttcno1 · 21/11/2023 19:38

You can buy sensitive digitals, I actually ended up doing a clear blue digital at 10dpo and got “pregnant” on there straight away! Now nearly 19 weeks pregnant. I have also heard the Boots own brand tests are meant to be good! X

NLmum4 · 21/11/2023 19:38

@Mrsttcno1 ah thank you . Yes I agree

@Pat92 I think the digital tests need more hormone to test (however I think I saw one that said 6 days before) but generally they are not as sensitive as the early detection ones.
It's torture isn't it

They are just the basic hcG tests, easy@home do a version, I’ll try to find a picture of mine in my phone to show!

NLmum4 · 21/11/2023 19:27

Do you know which ones the hospital use ?

OP posts:
Mrsttcno1 · 21/11/2023 19:26

Just to let you all know, FRER are notorious for evaps and indent lines! I didn’t personally have an issue with them myself and am now pregnant but my friend has been ttc for over a year now and has now sworn off FRER as she has had 5 different FRER tests with evaps/indent lines, which as you can imagine has been absolutely awful for her!

The best tests are the type the hospitals use, you can get boxes of them pretty cheaply on Amazon and they are much more accurate! X

Pat92 · 21/11/2023 19:20

@Bluebella27 thank you I hope so. Tempted to go out and get a digital test now xxx 😂

Pat92 · 21/11/2023 19:19

I think the new one is just a touch darker tbh and
yeah it came up within 5 minutes or so x

Bluebella27 · 21/11/2023 19:12

@Pat92
This is a thick line which generally means positive and also if this came up in the 10 minute window then positive 😊 x

NLmum4 · 21/11/2023 19:12

Is the new one lighter?. I think it's ok to be the same on same day. Did it come up in the time frame?

Oh no this is making me feel so paranoid now. I did another one and it looks pretty much the same as the other 😟 I didn’t want to get my hopes up for it to turn out to be evaporation line :/ both tests attached.

Hmm.. interesting. Can't be ovulation for me in this instance.. the lines appeared after 15 minutes. I know you're supposed to throw them out but how I found out I was pregnant with my last son was checking my first response test hours later and there was the faintest line, tested next day on a digital and was positive. I have to say though, I think I'm done with clear blue, even though I know they're evap lines it still feels like a heart wrench seeing another line. Pink dye only for me next cycle!

NLmum4 · 21/11/2023 18:02

Mine look like that. What's interesting though if you dip one in water then no evap line so they must be picking up something - LH (ovulation) maybe ?

Here are all my evap Clear Blue tests. I don't remember them being so bad.. it's a gut punch! my go to have always been first response but as someone else mentioned they seem to have disappeared off the market.
