Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

Would love to hear from others!

@CatCaretaker thanks for checking in!

Bloods this morning and had the result super quick so my HGC has gone from 94 to 260 which the nurse says is promising! Last time my HCG only reached 130 before dropping.

I do also think the numbers are fairly low if my last period date was 17th Oct. But if I've ovulated really late I guess I could be as early as 4w4d going off our 'activity' around then..

Not quite out of the woods as I can't shake the pain, so could still be ectopic. I'm getting more bloods on Saturday morning and if increased again then it will be a scan.. I would assume I'd have to wait for that though as does HCG not have to be close to 2000 to see anything?

Vic231 · 23/11/2023 09:59

@MrsB2019x my cycles are short, I go straight from AF to fertile week, TWW and then AF, so pretty sure I ovulate around CD 9/10/11 and been pregnant 3 times. So it's definitely possible! 🤞🏼

CatCaretaker · 23/11/2023 09:09

@Loz1006 how are you getting on? It's today you're going back for a HCG check?

MrsB2019x · 23/11/2023 08:48

I have no idea but to me it just feels too early 😕 time will tell I guess.

Great news about the progesterone test 🎉

YellowZ · 23/11/2023 07:32

Hooray, positive progesterone test (home urine test) this morning! Now I feel more at ease.

@MrsB2019x can your ovaries actually pop out an immature egg? I wonder

Best of luck for this month @Joonbug23 🤞

LH dropped off a cliff today so I assume I did ovulate yesterday 🤨 not hopeful tbh, I can’t imagine CD9 is enough for an egg to mature

TTC after ectopic/after loss/older age etc ALL WELCOME 🙂
Joonbug23 · 22/11/2023 16:41

@lemonyfox Fingers crossed things will go in your favour. It’s so hard being in that waiting stage, but we are all here for you.

I’m CD 14 today and it’s ovulation day. Had a strong peak LH yesterday and ovulation pains to match. It’s coming from my left side (side with my remaining tube) so feeling cautiously hopeful. It’s just such a hard process building hope each month..

YellowZ · 22/11/2023 15:24

@YellowZ ah I see. Fingers crossed it's ok.

I'm definitely finding this 2ww hard. It always is a long wait obviously... Just... i'm more worried than excited, this time round. Given what happened the last time we tried. I'm quite scared about losing the other tube. It's a little sad it's not exciting like when we were TTC DS.

4dpo now.

Thanks everyone
@YellowZ I had bloods done at the early pregnancy unit today which they need to repeat in 2 days, and then another 2 days, for HCG monitoring

YellowZ · 22/11/2023 13:00

@lemonyfox ah crap. Really hope it's not another one. What's the next step - going to your GP?

MrsB2019x · 22/11/2023 11:13

@lemonyfox I did think I recognised you! I really hope it’s not ectopic. 3 just isn’t fair!! Please keep us posted x

CatCaretaker · 22/11/2023 10:56

@lemonyfox fingers crossed for you that if isn't. It's awful, not just the ectopic, but waiting three months is like an eternity.

lemonyfox · 22/11/2023 10:17

@CatCaretaker I'm not sure, I think so

@MrsB2019x upset and frustrated more than anything. If it's another ectopic then we'll need to delay everything with fertility treatment back by 3 months 😭 I remember you btw, we were on the same baby boards back in 2020 when we were TTC then, I recognise your username! Sorry we're meeting again back on a thread like this.

MrsB2019x · 22/11/2023 10:02

@lemonyfox I can see them too. Are you feeling okay in yourself?

CatCaretaker · 22/11/2023 08:57

@lemonyfox I can see a faint line on both yes (though the lines look quite far off to the left, is that normal?).

lemonyfox · 22/11/2023 08:49

I think I might be having another ectopic again, my third one. I always test after my period and again a week later, as I didn't get positive pregnancy tests and kept having periods with my first two. So the hospital advised regular testing.

I've just tested this morning now my period has ended and I've had two really faint positives 😭

You can see these too right?

TTC after ectopic/after loss/older age etc ALL WELCOME 🙂

Registering as low now.. gonna keep testing in case I get a second surge but from my symptoms I think I may have ovulated today on CD9 😵‍💫

TTC after ectopic/after loss/older age etc ALL WELCOME 🙂
MrsB2019x · 21/11/2023 21:10

@Loz1006 Got everything crossed that your levels double 🤞When I was pregnant with DD I was so hyper vigilant with every single twinge and pain and over analysing everything. I didn’t relax until that early scan where she was in the right place. I hope that’s the case for you too. Keep us posted x

lemonyfox · 21/11/2023 20:49

@Confusedddddddd ah yeah I have heard that about pregnancy multivitamins. I just take a high strength B6 on its own.

Fingers crossed for you @Loz1006!

Confusedddddddd · 21/11/2023 20:36

@Loz1006 could the shoulder pain be something else? I was told the ectopic shoulder pain only happens once it's ruptured (I could be wrong though). Though mine ruptured and never got shoulder pain, just bad period like pain.
Fingers crossed for you that it's a normal uterine pregnancy.

Confusedddddddd · 21/11/2023 20:33

@lemonyfox I wondered about b vitamins but there's like 6-7 times the amount in Pregnacare compared to seven seas and my luteal phase was shorter while taking them. I might look at starting to take vitamins separately - there's a load of added stuff in Pregnacare now, and not sure if one of them has been making my LP shorter.

In other news, I woke up to some pretty agonising ovulation pain from the side I haven't ovulated from in 2.5 years (since DC1 was conceived) however opks are stark white, usually I get my peak and pain pretty much at the same time and I'm only cd10 (I usually ovulate CD15 like clockwork), so I don't know what's going on. My first cycle after my ectopic and cyst removal I had pain for 3 days before my peak, though I was very much still recovering from surgery, but maybe this is happening as it's the first time I'm ovulating from that side in a very long time.

YellowZ · 21/11/2023 17:58

@Annonomous29 for ovulation on cd15/16 I'd expect a positive OPK on cd13 or 14... So tomorrow or the next day? If you've been having ewcm that's a good sign it might be on the way?

@YellowZ Thank you I was very confused I have been getting a little ewcm. Will test again tomorrow will try test 2 times and again the following day. Fingers crossed it is a good sign

YellowZ · 21/11/2023 18:24

@Loz1006 ...so...I expect that you're feeling quite confused and anxious (?) BUT oh my gosh, it'd be lovely if it's our first BFP. 15dpo is still super early, hopefully your next blood test result is good. Hopefully we'll be able to give you congratulations soon 😀

Loz1006 · 21/11/2023 18:15

@YellowZ @MrsB2019x thanks for checking in!

So my update is that my pain in left side is subsiding but shoulder pain is there.

I had an scan this morning which showed nothing as too soon (expecting this as I think I ovulate late so I reckon I'm around 15/16 dpo) but the sonographer said there was nothing to make her think it was ectopic. Bloods taken.

My HCG is 94 which I was told is normal for 4/5 weeks and I'm going back in 48 hrs. The nurses are hopeful that it's a normal pregnancy just really early but I can't shake the pain and how it's the exact same as last time! Only time will tell.

I've also been informed that my last pregnancy was actually classed as an early miscarriage and not ectopic (no one informed me of this) because I wasn't treated with medication or surgery and my HCG didn't rise enough. So I'm majorly confused at the moment and just holding out to see my HCG double this time.

I hope everyone else is coping well in their own situations and hopefully will be a little more straight forward. X
