Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

Would love to hear from others!

Hello to all those on this group who I shared worries and concerns with in the past and future readers,
Congratulations to those who’ve had their little arrivals and sending lots of love to those on their journeys to meet their miracles.
Just wanted to share that I was very lucky and have had a baby girl, turning 15 weeks old today.
We had an ectopic over Christmas 2024 and had my fallopian tube removed. Gave it a break in the New Year, tried again in March (but probably too early for ovulation as my partner was leaving to travel) and again the following month where we became pregnant with our lovely little baby girl. I didn’t want to share or tempt fate until she was here. But now she is I just want others to know who are going through ectopics and may have a fallopian tube removed, to know that there’s hope and the rough seas and become calm again.
We’re beyond happy and content and feel that this particular journey has made us so grateful and allowed us to focus with gratitude on the blessing during the challenges of the late night feeds etc! They really are flashes of little miracles.
Thinking of all on this group and those with current ectopics.
Lots of love,
S

Congratulations @CatCaretaker and @MrsB2019x

@MrsB2019x I've often wondered how you're getting on. I think we had early scans on the same day if I remember correctly? And sadly had v different news. Glad things are going well this time round.

Sorry @Nic2908 and @Annonomous29 sending love xx

My DD is 6wks old 🙂she's very chilled out compared to my son. And chunky! Probably because I ate so much chocolate while I was pregnant...

@YellowZ
aww blesss so happy for you… hope everything went well with the birth and everything…. 😊

@Nic2908 thank you 😊. Feeling great 😃

Really sorry you're still struggling, I remember it well and it's awful. Best of luck with the miscarriage clinic. Let us know how it goes.

Nic2908 · 13/10/2024 20:35

Ahh its so lovely to hear such lovely positive news. Massive congratulations @CatCaretaker and @MrsB2019x

im still not pregnant. I’ve actually stopped talking all supplements last couple of months and stopped tracking ovulation. I just needed to take a deep breath and live my life. I actually have my first appointment with the consultant at my local miscarriage clinic tomorrow so I should get all my results. It will be interesting to hear what they say.

how are you both feeling?

Annonomous29 · 13/10/2024 12:21

Congratulations @CatCaretaker 🥳

How are you doing? X

jellyfish2 · 21/04/2024 12:09

@YellowZ congratulations, how lovely having one of each 🩷

MrsB2019x · 21/04/2024 10:45

@Nic2908 I don’t know if you’re on Facebook or not but there is a group on there called something like Tommy’s Baby Loss Support, a lot of people talk about Prof Quenby on there

That’s lovely @YellowZ congratulations 🩷

YellowZ · 21/04/2024 08:19

@MrsB2019x glad it went well and you're not in too much discomfort. And glad your tests are negative @Nic2908 (always feels weird writing that ...)

All OK here. 21wks now. We're having a girl ☺️so one of each. Feeling very lucky.

@MrsB2019x tests are negative so that’s really good. I’m just waiting for my period to start, then I feel like physically it’s all done with then. I’m thinking about being referred to the Coventry clinic with prof Quenby to see if it will get me some answers any quicker. Anyone have experience of the clinic??

MrsB2019x · 21/04/2024 07:00

I’m good thank you @Nic2908, surgery went great. I’m quite tired but very minimal pain and barely any bleeding at all now. Gutted I didn’t get to have this first time round! How did you get on with your test? X

Nic2908 · 20/04/2024 08:00

@MrsB2019x how are you today? I hope yesterday went as well as it could do?

Gracie1825 · 19/04/2024 21:28

@Nic2908 so sorry to read the sad news... Big hugs
It's so cruel x

MrsB2019x · 17/04/2024 19:49

@YellowZ Massively stressful! We both want to TTC again but this is just holding us back. Got another scan in the morning to check if I’ll still need surgery on Friday, I’m fairly certain I will. Hope all is well with you 💛

YellowZ · 16/04/2024 12:32

@MrsB2019x sorry you're going through this, it sounds so stressful. Were you doing to TTC again? Or have a break? xx

MrsB2019x · 16/04/2024 07:43

@Nic2908 Thank you so much that was really reassuring, I’m kinda looking forward to it tbh because it’ll be the end. I’ve been bleeding 8 weeks now and feel like I haven’t been able to get any closure.
How did you get on with your test this morning? x

Nic2908 · 14/04/2024 22:04

@MrsB2019x oh my I’m so sorry that you went through all of that and started to try and process it physically and emotionally. Have you been bleeding the whole time? I’m due to take my 3 week pregnancy test tomorrow. I don’t think I’ve ever not wanted to or been less excited to take one. I’m scared it’s all going to hit me tomorrow.

in terms of the surgery it was ok you know. Sad but ok. I was petrified and voulnerable and I made sure they knew that and they took incredible care of me. Afterwards they wouldn’t even except if I had a pain score of one, they wanted me to be physically pain free and they reminded me they had a bag of tools to do it and to not be a hero. I wasn’t supposed to be a hero in that situation… I was supposed to have the pain relief. I was in actually theatre for about an hour. Discharged about three hours after. Once at home I ached more than o expected but kept on top of paracetamol and brufen and hot water bottles. I had minimal bleeding and all was fine. I was shocked by how fatigued the general anaesthetic left me for two days.

honestly, after birthing my baby at 16 weeks , I hope I never had to again but I would chose the surgical option every time. So please I hope that will provide you with even a little bit of reassurance.

@jellyfish2 i am so sorry I have only just seen this. I’m doing ok, we’re waiting until the recurrent clinic can see and test which means will be about 5 months before we can try again. But I’m ok with that (I think). I’m currently reading it starts with an egg and planning to base my vitamin regime around that I think but we will see.

I’ve still got it in me to keep on fighting and trying so I’m going to. Until my body and my brain align and say no.

how is everyone doing?

MrsB2019x · 14/04/2024 20:25

How are you doing @Nic2908? I’m heading in for surgery on Friday because they have found 23mm of retained products since the MMC 7 weeks ago. Was the op okay?

jellyfish2 · 11/04/2024 14:07

@Nic2908 I'm so sorry you've had to go through this, especially after having your early scan. How are you doing?

CatCaretaker · 11/04/2024 12:26

@Nic2908 How are you doing? I'm was so sorry to read the terrible news, everything had seemed to be going so well for you.
