Hi, alI!

I thought it would be really nice to start a new thread. This thread is dedicated to those TTC in November 2023. We can give each other advice, talk through our emotions (because sometimes, hearing from another woman is so helpful!), and at the end of the cycle - update on pregnancy test results.

I'll introduce myself real quick. Feel free to do the same.

My name is Kelsey. I'm 26. I'm from Ireland. I've been engaged to my fiancé, Sean, since September. We started dating in December 2022 (when ya know, ya know!!). We have been trying to conceive since I came off the pill in May. I was only on it since December 2022. Unfortunately, we received a false positive Clearblue digital in June :(. So this TTC journey has been very stressful. I have PCOS and irregular cycles but something seems to be switching up in me.

My last period started October 19th.
I feel I ovulated on Halloween night. We DTD the day before and the day of. It's the first time I've caught ovulation so perfectly.

If going by 28 day cycle since I ovulated on time, my period is expected November 16th. I am so nervous as I want a baby so badly. Something in me is telling me this cycle is different but that little voice in my mind is telling me I'm not pregnant and I'm wrong. I guess we'll see.

Symptoms so far:
Ovary pain (but I have that almost every day anyway)
Backache
And then....nothing.
Which is unusual for me as my PMS symptoms usually begin 2 weeks before my period (whether I end up bleeding or not lol). I often feel nauseas and experience cramping. Nothing so far.
Also, currently 3dpo.

Let's keep each other entertained during that TTW.

Good luck, everyone!!!

It is early tbh, @H938. According to the app I'm only 3 weeks 4 days! I will take a digital as soon as i can. And thanks everyone!

@Jadehiggs im pretty sure you are pregnant with all those lines! It still is really early so thats probably why they are faint. Do a digital I bet it says pregnant 😊

Saffycat92 · 12/11/2023 18:33

@Jadehiggs that all sounds good! Here’s hoping you get a clear positive soon to put your mind at rest :)

Outliers · 12/11/2023 13:49

@Jadehiggs sounds like a positive. Try first thing in the morning when hCG concentration highest.

Outliers · 12/11/2023 13:42

At 9DPO these are all the symptoms I've experienced so far:

  • Metallic taste in mouth
  • Cramping
  • Tender boobs (strongest symptoms)
  • Morning nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Increased thirst
  • Frequent urination
  • Bloating
  • Clear discharge (more than usual)
  • Constipation

Very tempted to test tomorrow, but I'll hold out. I've decided to monitor these symptoms, so if I'm not pregnant I will ignore them in the next cycle.

Jadehiggs · 12/11/2023 13:33

Ofc this would happen to me 😅
I took a test 10dpo, got an indent. Took a test yesterday at 11dpo, got a wonky line. It's thin and dark on clearblue. Took two dealz tests, both had faint lines. Today I took another clearblue and the line is definitely there but light. I'm so scared of a loss. No period symptoms tho. Period due in 3 days. I have mildly sore breasts and pain in my ovary but that's not unusual.

I'm holding onto hope the first clearblue was just wonky as the line was very thin and to the left.

Is this normal? To get a faint line at 12dpo?

H938 · 12/11/2023 10:46

@Saffycat92 ahh I hope were just too early 🫣 hopefully we will get proper lines in a few more days. X

Saffycat92 · 12/11/2023 09:59

@H938 that looks potentially like something positive! Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I had a real squinter this morning - first time I’ve tested this cycle. But I think it was likely an indent. It’s the most I’ve ever seen on a test so trying not to get my hopes up… I’m not entirely sure but think I’m 8 or 9dpo as well. It’s still early days for us!

H938 · 12/11/2023 05:50

Morning. Got a second line this morning but then it dissapeared 🧐 its obviously very faint im 8/9dpo I think

8 DPO. was expecting to be busy this weekend but plans got cancelled 🙃

No discernible symptoms now. Feel absolutely fine.

My husband was burning a scented candle, which I expressed smelt horrible - he responded "maybe you're pregnant cause smells fine to me" 🙄 I had strong smell in my last pregnancy.

Saffycat92 · 10/11/2023 10:07

Actually I think I’ve had the metallic taste a bit too - but I wasn’t sure if it was the decaf I’ve been drinking! I agree ideally I’d hold out to 12DPO but I think I’ll probably cave and test on 9 or 10

H938 · 10/11/2023 10:02

What day will you test on? I looked back to the last time I was pregnant in 2020 and I had dtd on 8th April (CD 13) and got a positive test on 17th April (CD 22)

its really hard not to overthink every little thing when you want it!

Outliers · 10/11/2023 09:56

7DPO. It does seem to be relatively quick. Been trying to keep busy.

Can't say I've experienced definitive symptoms, but the sensations I've had are:

  • Slight fatigue (but I work)
  • Cramping at 4DPO
  • Metallic taste in mouth (5)
  • Increased vaginal discharge.
  • Sensitive nipples/breast.

Some of these I get leading up to my period, which isn't due for another week. But last month period came a week early for first time ever (usually clockwork) so who knows really. Still a good 5 days before I can test.

Saffycat92 · 10/11/2023 09:24

No real updates from me - I’m not sure exactly when I ovulated this month as I’m not tracking (trying to be chill about it all but failing!!) but I didn’t get an ovulation pain. I think I only get it about 50% of the time so not that unusual for me. But if I ovulated on CD14 or 15 (which is usual for me) then I’m currently 7DPO. I haven’t had any symptoms, but it’s still early for implantation.

I completely agree re the pregnant by Christmas thing! My brother lives in Canada and is with us for Christmas this year for the first time in ages. I’ve sort of got it in my head that I wanted to surprise him with the news whilst he was over, which is really silly but yeah - I’ll be disappointed if it doesn’t happen for us this month. Fingers crossed and baby dust for all!

H938 · 09/11/2023 19:13

Was just wondering for those who have been trying a while, do you get different symtoms each month? I dont get any PMS other than a visual migrane about three days before. Fingers crossed for your Christmas pregnancies 🍼

NelliePig · 09/11/2023 18:36

Only a few days past ovulation and having sore boobs, not sure if this is PMS for me or something new. Probably should of stayed off the pill a few months before TTC as have no idea what my bodies up too 🥴

Goldendoodlelover · 09/11/2023 17:13

Hi all, can I hop on this thread?! Am 30, been ttc baby number 1 for 11 months now :/ feeling particularly anxious this TWW as I had really wanted to be pregnant by Xmas and feeling a bit down about hitting the one year mark. I got a positive OPK on Sunday so I think I ovulated on Monday which would make me 3DPO but I'm still having some ewcm so I'm not 100% sure?! Best of luck to us all!

Jadehiggs · 09/11/2023 17:06

@H938 It's so hard haha!
I've already taken tests. Obviously negative but can't help myself lol.

@H938 It's so hard to know but if your cycles are like clockwork, I'm gonna say you've already ovulated. I have read that you can get progressively darkening ovulation tests when pregnant OR coming up to your period. I've been getting practically positive ones too. Maybe DTD to be sure? But that ovulation test looks too light to be positive.

Thank you. Basically just gotta wait it out 🙄which easier said than done. It becomes obsessive 😂

@H938 Hiya!
Yes, I do. I was temping for a while but since we took a months break, I stopped and haven't started again. This month just used ovulation tests and tracked cervix and cervical mucus. I totally understand driving yourself crazy it's so hard!

Im just not sure with mine, i also noticed CM days leading up to which I tracked back, mine was sticky and white which I know they say it should be clear but mine never has been so i think I got my calculations right but I done a couple of ovulation tests the days after and they wasnt dark but just done one and i think it looks dark. Would I ovulate now though if I was due to come on again on 18th 🫣 my cycles are always 26/28 days

@Outliers I've had cramping for a few days now. Fingers crossed it means something for both of us.

Also - any updates, anyone?
I'm currently 9dpo. Starting to get my usual sweet and salty cravings so not holding much hope...but still, praying that I am wrong.
