TheBirdintheCave · 05/01/2024 09:03

@CR7 Yayyyyy! The biggest congratulations to you and your family! Beautiful name too :)

Triselly · 05/01/2024 08:26

@CR7 oh my goodness, congratulations!! Such a beautiful name, I hope her birth went well ❤️

This is such wonderful news to start off the year ! Your contributions on this discussion have always been so thoughtful, informative and compassionate - as well as a great source of hope to many of us as well as me I’m sure. I am so thrilled that it worked out for you and wish you and your husband all the joy in the world with your little one Xxx

CR7 · 05/01/2024 01:51

Ladies, yesterday we welcomed baby Rivi (Hebrew for Rebecca). She was born at 13.12 weighing 7lbs 13.

Sending everyone baby dust. It has been a long almost five year road for us. I know how hard the journey is xx

TheBirdintheCave · 27/12/2023 18:02

@CR7 Omg I can't believe your baby will be here soon! 😬

I'm 20+2 so over half way 🙏🏻

CR7 · 26/12/2023 20:07

@WholeZebra all good here. Finished work on Christmas Eve. I had a bit of PGP for a couple of weeks but it passed. Now just waiting for my section as I'm high risk.

Wishing you lots of luck with the last part of your journey x

WholeZebra · 26/12/2023 19:52

@Triselly I’m so sorry about your cat :(.

@CR7 I can’t get over you being 38 weeks. Time is flying! How are you feeling? We’re 28 weeks - I’m doing okay but having horrendous PGP.

CR7 · 26/12/2023 16:23

@Triselly

Hey lovely xx hope you're well. So so sorry about your cat.

On my time hop app a few days ago, it showed me all my drugs arriving last year, ahead of me starting down regulating in January (2023). I was so low at the time, thinking "can i do this again?" As I had to do a whole mock transfer and two small surgeries before I could officially go again.

I wish I'd have know that there was a chance I'd be sitting here a year later at 38 weeks pregnant because everything felt so sh1t.

Will be thinking of you and hoping next year is your year xx

TheBirdintheCave · 26/12/2023 13:18

Hope you're enjoying your Christmas @Triselly and everyone else! Sorry about your cat :(

Triselly · 26/12/2023 09:51

Sorry I’m a day late but just wanted to wish all of you a peaceful Christmas and new year ❤️

It’s been rather quiet here recently as I don’t think any of us are in treatment right now (?) but I still think about you all and hope that you are doing well after the year we’ve all had.

Let me know how you’re doing if you have the time, no worries at all if you are not really up for it of course though.

We are currently having a break from it all over Christmas and new year, planning on round number 3 probably in February. I very unexpectedly lost my very much loved cat a couple of weeks ago, just to finish off the year with more heartbreak there.

Hope that you are all alright xx

SarahShorty · 21/11/2023 18:31

I feel so sick and I've lost my appetite. I think I'm still in shock. I remember seeing a round black blob on the monitor. My nurse tried in vain to find something and even switched on the doppler in case there was a tiny life in there just hiding. There was nothing. It kind of sounded like sonar in a void, just nothingness. Empty. It was a blood clot about the size of a 50p coin. She was devastated and welled up. She called it an embryonic miscarriage, which isn't the same as a blighted ovum. There was a gestational sac there, but it was just filled with blood. The atmosphere in the room went from excitement to sadness in the blink of an eye. It was unreal. The next stage of this nightmare is for my body to expel it all.

@Valentina1985 oh that's just cruel. I'm so sorry that happened to you xx

@Triselly I could have the last embryo tested but I hear that's reserved for very special cases. Some abnormalities can correct themselves and a genetically normal embryo can suddenly develop abnormalities and miscarry. It's a cruel game tbh xx

@WholeZebra thank you my lovely xx

@SarahShorty oh Sarah :(, I’m so sorry. Sending you so much love. Try and look after yourself my darling.

Triselly · 21/11/2023 08:13

@SarahShorty I’m so so sorry, there are just no words. All my thoughts are with you right now, hope that you are ok xxx

Can the doctors give you any information about how to possibly improve the chances of your other embryo?

Valentina1985 · 20/11/2023 21:26

Oh @SarahShorty, I am so sorry, really.
I dont know what to say... at least the anxiety and uncertainty is over. With my blighted ovum, the doctors made me wait until week 12... kept postponing and giving me home that something would show up at some point...
I am very sure you will have your baby with the next blastocyst!

SarahShorty · 20/11/2023 20:39

Thank you ladies xx You're all so lovely and supportive, it means so much to me.

So as it stands now, we have one more embryo left which we will use at some point in the next year. We'll continue to try naturally in the meantime. I have to let the clinic know once I get a full bleed so they can scan me to make sure everything has been flushed out. And if I don't get a full bleed by this time next week I'll have to get medical management at the EPU. The risk is very slight as it's still so early, but it's there none the less. Hopefully my body gets rid of it all.

The scan was marked 7w+3d but the sac was measuring about 2 weeks behind, so I lost the baby 2-3 weeks ago, which is about when the nausea disappeared. Every loss I've had has been at around the 2 week mark (I go from ovulation not my LMP), so to me it seems that DH's sperm and my eggs are compatible as they fertilise, I was lucky enough to get 5 blastocysts, but none of them seem to get past the 2 week mark. Like they just arrest. There is nothing wrong with my lining, there's nothing wrong with DH's sperm and there is nothing wrong with my eggs... as far as I know.

I'm still in shock and potentially talking out of my arse, but to me it seems like DH and I just make really, really crappy embryos.

@SarahShorty my heart is hurting for you x

TheBirdintheCave · 20/11/2023 13:02

@SarahShorty Oh Sarah I'm so sorry :( I'm very glad you've got the day off so you can be together. xx

SarahShorty · 20/11/2023 12:59

Hi ladies xx thanks very much for all the well wishes. Sadly it wasn't to be. I've been carrying around a blood clot encased in a gestational sac for the last 2 or 3 weeks. So I have to stop all medication and make sure I bleed within the coming week or it's a trip to the EPU to remove any retained products. I'm sorry it's not better news. I don't know why, I just am 🥲

Valentina1985 · 20/11/2023 12:07

Indeed, @SarahShorty fingers crossed for you here! All the best!

Triselly · 20/11/2023 10:23

@SarahShorty Very best of luck today, thinking of you xxx

CR7 · 20/11/2023 07:40

@SarahShorty we are all
Sending you so much love and luck 🍀

WholeZebra · 19/11/2023 22:38

@SarahShorty will be thinking of you and have my fingers crossed for good news!

TheBirdintheCave · 19/11/2023 22:11

@SarahShorty Ohhh I have everything crossed! Good luck and let us know how it goes xx

SarahShorty · 19/11/2023 19:09

I have a viability scan tomorrow, we also have tomorrow booked off from work so if it's not the best news, we can spend the rest of the day crying. It really is the pits, but you have to keep on keeping on.

@Valentina1985 Oh sweetheart xx It's so horrible I know. Trying to conceive, be it natural or assisted must be 80% waiting and 20% doing the things and testing. Big hugs to you xx
