@worldwidetravel2017 you’re definitely going through the mill at the moment. I feel for you. I really hope you get some answers soon. Definitive ones.

@jellyfish2210 I’m keeping everything crossed for more positive news for you.

@Bumblebee413 I had such bad stomach cramps yesterday and thought this is it but no, AF still not here. They were proper doubled over cramps. I’ve still got them today but to a lesser extent. Caved and took another test but still negative as expected. AF just needs to get a move on!

@RoseH36 I’m sorry you have the horrible virus too. I totally feel your pain. I was really poorly at the beginning and now I’m just stuck with this blooming cough

worldwidetravel2017 · 12/12/2023 20:51

Im broken.. literally - another example where they try and fix and problem and find more

I have a counsellor

SnookyPook · 12/12/2023 20:29

@worldwidetravel2017 so sorry to hear this. It's one thing after another isn't it 😞 I really hope you get some definitive answers soon (and that it's nothing too scary). Sending a big hug. Hope you're ok. Are you getting any mental health support through all this? 💕 X

worldwidetravel2017 · 12/12/2023 19:36

Rubbish times here
They try and solve a problem
And find many more

Last week
Urgent nhs liver mri
And lower abdomen

Theyve found gallstones

And also stuff on my right ovary

Gynae discharged me in jul and sep

In jul they did transvaginal scan - urgently - saie not ovarian cancer

Now dec nhs mri - issues down below - stuff theyve found

And my consistently elevated / abnormal ca125

Gp has rushed my case to gastro

Ive emailed gastro secretaries myself this eve

Im also ringing gynae secretaries tomorro

Gp has also reached out to gynae :(

@SouthwestSis I’m so sorry to hear this. I hope that your husband is back now and you’ve spoken to people about this? So tough going through things alone. Also, you’re not silly to get your hopes up and start making plans. I do feel for you with the age gap thing… I also made peace with the fact I’d never get two under two, which is what I wanted, but just grateful to have a child at all now. I just hope you fall pregnant again super quickly and have some good news for the New Year ❤️

@jellyfish2210 you sound like you’re going through a lot too and hope you get the answers you need soon.

@SnookyPook we are nearly the same at the moment, I’m 5 + 4 days today. Hope you’re feeling ok? I feel fine but utterly whacked this week. So tired!

H0pefull · 11/12/2023 21:16

So sorry @SouthwestSis it’s so cruel 😔 sending you lots of love xxx

@jellyfish2210 I’m sorry, that’s tough news to deal with. Good news on the sperm quality though. Glad you were able to have your DH with you for the scan- well done for getting through it.

@Fullofconfusion ugh, I really hope things sort themselves out soon! Every few months I have a mega long cycle and I’m having one at the moment. Since Thursday evening I have done four (!!) tests and they’ve all been so starkly negative. I stare at them like you wouldn’t believe, literally trying to will pink dye into existence. I keep thinking that if it’s a longer cycle then maybe I ovulated later so maybe implantation was later so maybe I’m still in the game. Equally I feel like I’ve already grieved this month though, so I’m just really impatient for AF to start so that I can move on. In short, I hope you’re feeling much better soon and that I would do another test if I were you, but I think that’s obvious from my behaviour 😂

Edited

Really long cycles can include chemical pregnancies i believe

jellyfish2210 · 11/12/2023 17:06

@SnookyPook Basically the consultant said that it would just be a case of continuing to try naturally. I think there are surgical options but they come with risks because I have co-morbidities. Just left feeling quite deflated. At least DH's sperm analysis was high quality so we have that going for us.

Internal scan was quite painful at times, poor DH probably still doesn't have feeling in his hand 😂.

SnookyPook · 11/12/2023 16:54

@jellyfish2210 oh that's rubbish. Can't they give you anything more than that? And would it be a case of no hope or be dependent on where an egg implanted etc? Sending you a massive hug and hope you get more clarity soon 💕

jellyfish2210 · 11/12/2023 14:03

Had an internal scan today and it looks like my C-section scar could be causing us issue as it hasn't healed correctly. I've definitely ovulated this week so at least that's a positive. Have to go for more testing but if my tubes aren't blocked and the cause is definitely my C-section scar then there isn't anything they would do on NHS as we already have DD.

Feeling a bit down now as even if the tests show a diagnostic reason for us not getting pregnant, there really isn't anything they can do about it.

RoseH36 · 11/12/2023 10:21

@Fullofconfusion hope you're better soon. 3 weeks yesterday for me since mine started, I've never been so ill. Back in the TWW now though so I've had to stop all painkillers and medicine 😪 definitely doesn't leave you feeling up to DTD, I've struggled this week.

Hope AF shows up soon, can't imagine having cycles that long, must be incredibly frustrating, especially when TTC as it's not helpful at all leaving you with no idea what's going on.

Fullofconfusion · 11/12/2023 00:29

Hi ladies, I’ve been awol for a little bit, just read back and caught up. Huge congrats to the BFPs!!

I‘ve currently got this horrible viral cough thing that seem to be sweeping the country. I’ve been poorly for 5 weeks now and I’m totally fed up. It just leaves you feeling really tired and not really wanting to do much baby making!

I’m also now on CD44 and have plenty of symptoms that tell me AF is on the way but no sign of her yet frustratingly. I came off the pill in September so this is my 2nd cycle since. The 1st was 36 days long so I hoped this one would be similar or shorter. I feel kind of in limbo. I did take a pregnancy test about a week ago and it was negative. That coupled with the stomach cramps and sore boobs makes me think I’m out and just waiting for AF but the inner optimist says pee on another stick!! Haha

Hope everyone is managing ok with the miserable weather. We don’t seem to have had a day without snow/ice/rain for so long!! Roll on spring

Lalaland13 · 10/12/2023 12:34

@SouthwestSis So sorry to hear this - hope you’re doing ok all things considered. It’s nice to have some joy - don’t beat yourself up about it. I think you’re meant to be quite fertile after so get cracking again. There are pros and cons to different ages gaps.

My AF coming to an end now, anyone else have the stop start thing with it - such a pain when you’re thinking it’s done and comes on heavy again!

Our little man has decided to stop sleeping 2-5am … he had a cold last week so we gave extra support in that time and now I think he just wants to hang out at night!! We need to getting trying again soon but not sure hubby or I will have the energy !! I am wondering if need to try to DTD every other for the next 2 weeks - cause I think have been ovulating later than had thought 🤔🤔

Hope everyone okay and enjoying this dreary Sunday!

Mrsspoon3 · 10/12/2023 11:11

@SouthwestSis I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s so horrible to go through. I hope you’re as ok as you can be x

Thats great @FigandHoney! What a lovely scan photo! That’s great you’re further ahead than you thought.

Thanks so much for all the lovely supportive messages re my scan! I really hope they have just dated it wrong and that everything is ok. I’m so very anxious. Might see if I can get my NHS one early as my LMP was 9th September (I ovulated very late) so I know they normally go on this for scans. That would mean my scan would be very soon which would be good!

CurlyWurly1991 · 10/12/2023 10:33

Hey, age gap wise we would be looking at 10.5y if this baby works out and more if not… there are pros and cons to all age gaps. Definitely cheaper for one thing (although don’t do what I did and sell all the maternity and baby stuff a few months before deciding actually yes, you do want another baby!!) 🤦‍♀️

RoseH36 · 10/12/2023 09:39

@SouthwestSis so sorry to hear you've gone through this. I had a CP just a couple of weeks ago and my cycle has got back to normal straight away, peaked yesterday so DTD tonight then back in the TWW. I had GD too, interesting they've told you to take a higher dose of folic acid, I've not been told to do that.

As for the age gap, a lot of us are in that position, you can't change anything so no point dwelling on it. My son will be 4 in Feb so I'll have a 4.5 year age gap and counting.

@FigandHoney that's amazing! So pleased it's looking well for you so far.

Catson · 10/12/2023 09:10

I'm keeping everything crossed for you @SnookyPook I have my scan date, it's 19th. Just got to wait for it to come around 🫠

SnookyPook · 10/12/2023 01:58

@Catson as far as I know... Still feeling ever so cautious. However I've also got achey boobs and bit nauseous/increased hunger so hopefully something is happening! 5+5 now... 🙏🏼 Roughly when are you due your 12wk scan? Hopefully you get the date through soon! 💕

Catson · 10/12/2023 00:09

@worldwidetravel2017 there's folic acid added to alot if foods these days too so I wouldn't worry too much. I didn't take it until I started TTC 🙈

Hope things are still going well for you @SnookyPook

@FigandHoney ahh that's good news. We're still waiting for the 12 week NHS scan, not had any early ones. I measured over a week further on with my first and there's no way it was possible as I'd had a CP but before

SnookyPook · 09/12/2023 23:49

@FigandHoney what a lovely update! So glad little one was looking strong - and further along than you thought! Nice surprise! 💕

worldwidetravel2017 · 09/12/2023 20:23

Hoping i get nhs liver mri result by 19th
And maybe colon polyp biopsies results next week

worldwidetravel2017 · 09/12/2023 20:22

A lady working @ boots told me your body doesnt store folate - def still loads in my blood// body after Thursday bloods

worldwidetravel2017 · 09/12/2023 20:21

FigandHoney · 09/12/2023 20:11

I am so sorry @SouthwestSis . But please don't berate yourself. Every pregnancy comes with so much hope and every pregnancy deserves to be celebrated no matter how long it lasts.
My son is 3.5 years. So there will be a large age gap. I originally had also planned for a 2 year age gap in my mind. But after the trauma that wasn't to be. And I can see plenty of advantages in the age gap. Not only the fact that we won't need to pay for two kids in nursery.

@worldwidetravel2017 I have definitely read on the NHS that you are supposed to take folic acid before ttc ideally.
Also that you need to take a higher quantity if overweight.

Just wanted to pop in to say I had my private scan today. Saw one baby with a heartbeat. I was expecting to be 7 weeks and 5 days. But bub measured at 8 weeks 3 days. So 5 days further along. I got a positive ovulation stick 3 days before the average ovulation based on my cycle length. So maybe that and some inaccuracies in measurements explains tge discrepancy in gestation. But it shows it might be good to start DTD before you get a positive ovulation stick.
Anyway. I am sprinkling baby dust on all of you

Lovely
Def good to dtd before ovulation
Get the sperm there ready - often frequently when ya period ends - every other day

SouthwestSis · 09/12/2023 18:13

Thanks all for your well wishes, the worst of the pain was on Thurs and Fri, nasty cramps and backache but I haven't needed any painkillers today and my toddler has been keeping me distracted.
I had been taking normal dose folic acid for several months but had gestational diabetes in my last pregnancy so should take higher dose in any subsequent pregnancy.
Have bought some Baileys to make myself a baileys hot chocolate tonight and going to have a nice long hot shower!
Anyone have any idea what tends to happen to your ovulation cycle after CP/early loss? I didn't have the most regular cycle in any case...

After our early miscarriage - cycle was back to normal after one more cycle
