Hi @Theflyingfreckle and welcome. I know exactly what you mean by symptom spotting, I'm trying my best not to as well and keep telling myself to switch off and distract my mind but it's tricky isn't it? Sending baby dust your way too.

So I took another test this morning (again just a boots one) and it's negative. However I'm only 10-11 dpo and I know they would have been unlikely to pick anything up. I think just with me having this on-off nausea all week (which is probably just a bug) I just thought 'what if?'. According to my flo app, i would only be on day 9 of pregnancy and implantation would only be happening around now... so basically another wasted test ha. Tbh I'm not feeling too hopeful about this month.

Theflyingfreckle · 28/10/2023 01:18

Hey all! I'm 36 and we are ttc for the first time. We thought we had a pregnancy (unintentionally) earlier this year but it ended up being a randomly late cycle and an evap line.

I'm 2 DPO (tracking ovulation with an app) and am going to do my best not to symptom spot every single thing in the next couple weeks.

Baby dust to everyone ✨️

@SnookyPook I’m so sorry. You’re doing so well thinking positively and looking forwards.

I must be the only person on this thread who is happy to see AF but I’m so happy!! CD36 after stopping taking the pill and I’ve been sooo sensitive this past week. Hormones obviously kicking in, irritable, emotional, sore boobs, grumbly stomach, random headaches. Tonight AF is finally starting and makes me feel like my body is getting back to normal and ready to conceive. Last time I came off the pill to have my little one it took more than 6 months so it’s been super quick this time.

@worldwidetravel2017 So sorry about the abnormal ca125 results, although not entirely sure what that is. Hopefully nothing bad. And hopefully you get to ttc in November.
About your age. I had lots of ladies on the cusp or over 40 in my NCT class with my son. In fact the majority where in that age group. Fairly normal these days. So please try not too stress too much about your afe. Although I know personally that it's harder said then done.

Thank you

Abnornal // elevated ca125 can be inflammation or/ and cancer.
Theyve ruled out bowel cancer - stomach cancer and ovarian cancer.

I had a ct scan this week ' checking abdomen etc

H0pefull · 27/10/2023 20:26

@Supertrooper101 oh he’s thrilled 😂 I’ll be checking to make sure he actually rings to book it lol. thanks for the advice about the prolactin! Will ask to get it added into my second test if it’s not ok the form already x

sorry you’re feeling so rubbish @VixFromThe6ix 😔 I hope this start to ease for you soon and your next scan goes well - please keep us updated if you can!

good luck @FigandHoney !! Hope this is your month 🤞🏻

that sounds like a great book @worldwidetravel2017 I might see if I can get hold of it and give it a try myself x

sorry to hear about your negative @Khanga27 its very disheartening isn’t it, but hopefully there is still time this month for you to get your BFP x

Sp2025 · 27/10/2023 20:23

@SnookyPook I'm so sorry to hear that, but I love your positivity. 2024 will be a good year!

Khanga27 · 27/10/2023 20:07

@FigandHoney thank you. I was stupid to do a test to be honest, as it was afternoon and I had drank loads of water because I've been feeling sick all day and was desperate to flush out whatever had me feeling like that all week (and have also been really thirsty) so it was probably super diluted too. I'll try again next week

FigandHoney · 27/10/2023 18:52

Thank you @VixFromThe6ix xx

Sorry about the BFN @Khanga27. Still early though and plenty of time to get a BFP. I got the one with my son at 16dpo.

Thanks @Angelsrose and @CurlyWurly1991

FigandHoney · 27/10/2023 18:44

Oh @SnookyPook I am so sorry. I was really really hoping that this would all turn out well for you. You have had a very rough year. The timing is incredibly cruel too. But your positive proactive attitude is really inspiring. I so hope you soon get your sticky bean.

@H0pefull wow that was quick! What a turnaround. Good that you stood up for yourself.

@VixFromThe6ix it's nice that you are still sticking around. I am enjoying your little updates. Sorry you are feeling tough though.

Just went yo the gym. Really proud of myself.
Did another opk test before I left though and it was blazing.
SMEP method suggest we should DTD 3 says in a row, take a break and then do it again. With already having BDed the last two nights I am trying to figure out what days are tye most important to hit in case we run out if steam. I assume today and tomorrow

worldwidetravel2017 · 27/10/2023 18:40

@VixFromThe6ix sending all the luck for the scan and thank you so much for the kind words

Hi ladies... Unfortunately not looking good here. HCG has barely risen since Tuesday. Have had a good cry and accepted my fate. For whatever reason, this just isn't my year. Very thoughtful of little bean to keep all the crappiness to the same weekend. I'm just hoping that the physical side of things doesn't drag on too long or cause any issues.

Positives I am choosing to focus on:

  • it will be out of the way before Christmas
  • we can focus on a fresh start in the New Year
  • will get my fertility referral now and hopefully some answers etc

It's not looked good from the beginning so at least it's not caught me completely off-guard like the MMC did. Still crappy though. It struck me that my friend who had the same due date as me now has her little girl, and all I've got to show in the same time-frame is 3 losses... 😌 what a year...

So sorry to read this

I struggled dealing with last months early miscarriage
Kudos to you for your strength & positive out look

Sending all the luck 4 the next chapter

I have a book - life after miscarriage - happy to give it to anyone who wants a read after ive finished it

I feel like in some ways miscarriage changes you forever

Be kind to you this weekend

Get your fav food in
And relax

VixFromThe6ix · 27/10/2023 18:06

@worldwidetravel2017 thank you for checking in on me!! I am still here and mostly reading. I kind of feel bad giving my updates cause I don't want to be tonedeaf. By I have been invested in many of your stories and want to see it through.
All I can say is.... I hope this one sticks cause I don't want to go through first trimester again. I feel like absolute garbage every day. I'm struggling and can't do much about it. Next scan is Nov 8 to see if things are progressing. Hubby was actually sad when I told him we had twins and sadly lost one. He's more sad than I was that's for sure.

Sorry to hear about your CT scan situation. I hope you're feeling better.
I notice how much knowledge and advice you have for everyone. It's really appreciated. You remind me of my mom she's full of this kind of knowledge. 💞 I call her my walking encyclopaedia. Any time I have a concern I ask her and sure enough, she has an answer. It's so helpful

@SnookyPook sorry to hear your news. ❤️‍🩹 You had one hell of a year. You persevered and I'm sure are stronger for it. It's tough knowing your friend had her girl when you should have had yours. Your time will come!! I hope you take some time to take care of yourself. Have some good food and wine in the meantime. It sounds like you have a positive outlook on the future and I am very proud of you. But big hugs 🤗

Oh no @SnookyPook I'm sorry to hear that 😭😭 at least you can hopefully start 2024 on a high

Angelsrose · 27/10/2023 17:51

So sorry @SnookyPook . I am glad you are looking at the positives. Sending you lots of love.

Supertrooper101 · 27/10/2023 17:31

@H0pefull 🙂 thats great. Its crap it takes ages to get that one dr who knows whats what but at least youve made a start lol my area gyne want the prolactin test done too so maybe ask the nurse to add that on your day 21... now for your fella to tackle his gp lol

CurlyWurly1991 · 27/10/2023 17:17

@SnookyPook Im so very sorry to hear that. Hope you get some answers now that you are being referred for further support.

@FigandHoney definitely time to get that man on board.

@H0pefull wow, that was quick! Did you do fsh/lh on day 2-5? I got similar tests ordered by my (female) GP recently.

@Angelsrose @worldwidetravel2017 agree re. NHS tests as first port of call. We are lucky to have these available. AMH is only really useful if you plan to do IVF.

H0pefull · 27/10/2023 16:34

Thank you so much everyone for all your advice this afternoon! I feel so overwhelmed with it all but it’s great to be able to get the advice from people who have been through it🤍
I managed to fill in an online form around lunchtime and a GP actually called me straight away! Wasn’t a female but he was lovely, he apologised and was shocked I’ve been referred to gynae without any of these tests being done prior. Anyway long story short he did my forms there and then for both sets of bloods and was able to get an appointment straight away so I’m just back from having my first lot! This is what he requested, and then I’ll go back in a few weeks around day 21. He has also referred me for a scan just to cover all bases! Feeling much better now, thanks again for all your advice xx

@SnookyPook I’m so sorry lovely, you must be devastated. This is so unfair for you 💔 but you’re quite right with all those positive points you’ve listed, and that’s a great way to look at it! I hope you can get your referral underway as soon as you feel ready. Sending you so much love, we are all here for you xxxx

Supertrooper101 · 27/10/2023 16:22

@H0pefull your time lol not my time lol

Supertrooper101 · 27/10/2023 16:20

@H0pefull you need everything ready for your gyne appointment. Why waste my time going thr basic bloods with gyne when they can hopefully offer solutions not a simple blood test. My partner is at a different drs. It took him three attemps to get the form tho so your partner needs to be persistant. The 3rd call i told him to say were under gyne and he HAS to have a sperm test. Got the form that day. BUT around my area there is a huge waiting list for that too. We booked september and not in until end of nov and thats having to travel over an hour. And if you need to book a room for him then the wait list is even longer. You only have 45mins to drop a sample off too. It all takes so long, you really need to push it so your ready for that 1st appointment. Then you can say, look, ive done all this, now tell me what you are going to do...kinda thing lol
