Newbie here, checking in! Currently taking the prenatal vitamins before we start TTC for the first time at beginning of next year. I am 35 and fiancé is 42. I guess just getting into mindset to the journey :)

@FigandHoney Am I right in thinking it should be under GP Records > test results?

Yep

@Khanga27 I can definitely see a line. When I was pregnant with my son I got a BFN on the day my af was due. Didn't test until AF was late for 4 days and then got a faint BFP. So I agree with @CurlyWurly1991 statement that not all women have the same level of HCG from the start. Unfortunately you will just need to give it a bit more time. But hopefully this is your sticky bean!

@H0pefull I am also taking Peoceive Max because it contains Coq10. However after looking into the levels of supplements suggested by it starts with an egg and following discussions on here, I have added B12, B6, Vitamin D and some Follic Acid - as Proceive was a bit low on them.
Then again I might not have ovulated this cycle. And I am wondering if it's the supplements. So might stop the additional ones when AF arrives.

My GP got my blood test results back and told me they were normal. But they couldn't do tge Vitamin D check because the sample was Haemolysed. I tried to see my results on the NHS App but can't find anything. Am I right in thinking it should be under GP Records > test results?

My bbt went up a bit today but definitely not enough to suggest ovulation. I looked in the Ava facebook group. And others have said it has sometimes taken a while for the rise to show after the LH surge. They said you can ovulate up yo 36 hours after it. And then it can take 3 days for the rise to show. It's now been 5 days since my first positive opk. Since then my opks have been very negative.
I am trying not to get upset but it's difficult.

B6 and zinc help with cycles and progesterone
All your photos of ovulation sticks were pretty positive - many believe the ones you shared showed ovulation

H0pefull · 01/11/2023 15:23

ah so sorry @Khanga27 , hope you are feeling ok xxx

Khanga27 · 01/11/2023 14:52

Not a great update I'm afraid - had some creamy discharge with a little pink in which I'm guessing could be the start of my period (dont normally start like this, but like i say my body has probably changed since mmc), so looks like I'm out for this month. It's either been a chemical or a really bad indent on the tests.

@Khanga27 these boots tests are really good and only slightly less sensitive than frer. If the line is pink then it is picking up HCG so I would count as positive. Not everyone gets string lines on/just before AF is due, I had a faintervlind than this at 18dpo with my daughter. Some people just have lower baseline HCG (there is a spectrum of ‘normal’ like many things in life). Hopefully AF will not show and this is your BFP 🤞

@Sp2025 oh that’s good to know, thanks. What does letrozole do? (Sorry I’m at an early stage of all this). Do you know what your result was in nmol/l?

@H0pefull Thank you. Hope you get the results you want on your day 21 x

I will probably make an appointment with the GP who will order a repeat day 21. I am not overly concerned as the info I have read states over 18 confirms ovulation, some NHS trusts stick with over 30. I mean I’m sure it could be optimised but I am a little bit wary of medical intervention overall. It’s like adding one synthetic hormone disrupts the balance of the whole system. On the other hand I know progesterone is quite safe to self-supplement. I have to think about it a bit more than most because I have a liver condition so introducing new medication/supplements can cause a host of other unpleasant symptoms as my body doesn’t break them down very well.

I can't remember exact numbers but it was in the 20s. Letrezole induces ovulation, think it lowers oestrogen and increases progesterone. The other drug commonly used to induce ovulation is clomid. There have been many success stories on MN from the use of clomid/letrozole so 🤞

@Sp2025 @H0pefull I hope so, but I don't know if I am trusting just yet. Its so faint for where I thought I was in cycle, but don't know how reliable ovulation tests would have been with only one period since the MMC which took over a month to resolve. Just not sure what to think. I just hope it's not a chemical or something.

Sp2025 · 01/11/2023 08:36

Khanga27 · 01/11/2023 08:32

This is the boots test - anyone used these before?

I can see a faint line!

H0pefull · 01/11/2023 08:35

@CurlyWurly1991 how great that you could see your results the same day! I will be going for my day 21 blood test around 15th, so this is good to know! Sorry you have had some confusing results though, will you contact your GP to discuss? Hopefully they can shed a bit more light x

H0pefull · 01/11/2023 08:34

Thanks for all your replies ladies, i will get onto ordering some today :)

@Khanga27 to me that looks like a line if I'm honest, i know everybody has different experiences with different tests, but for me, I have found the Boots ones really reliable in the past. It looks like it could be it for you!

Sp2025 · 01/11/2023 08:34

Sp2025 · 01/11/2023 08:21

@H0pefull I'm taking proceive max, which comes in a sachet form. They are really expensive but it's always on 3 for 2 at boots or H&B

@CurlyWurly1991 I have borderline progesterone. The consultant is going to put me on letrazole. I was surprised by my results as my periods are regular but I had them done twice and both times came back as borderline

Sorry! Meant to tag @FigandHoney

Khanga27 · 01/11/2023 08:21

@H0pefull I take proceive as I saw and heard from others I know great reviews.

@H0pefull@Mrsspoon3 thanks for replies, yesterday was a shocking day for me. Ended up with a bad migraine that has carried on into today so had little sleep as well.

I took a boots early test today and again its a really faint line (not very visible on camera). DP thinks its a more obvious line than Mondays test but I'm not sure. Decided not to use my last FRER at the moment. Its so frustrating that I've had this with 2 brands now though.. Its either a bad indent or a chemical or maybe just not a great test? (The reviews online for the boots 5 day early ones suggest theyve given people false negatives when taken early). This combined with my had nausea and headache just has me so down. Forgot to share pic so I will on next one. Based on ovulation tests I think I'm 14dpo, but I'm conscious that with only one period since my MMC my hormones may not have been most reliable for testing ovulation as well.

CurlyWurly1991 · 01/11/2023 07:57

@H0pefull Proceive gets good reviews here. Didn’t agree with me but my husband takes them (including the leftover womens ones 😬). I take vits individually - P5P complex (b6, zinc and magnesium), spatone and iron bisglycinate,l (as deficient), vitamin c, folic acid, vitamin D on a dropper, fish oil and CoQ10. Would be much more convenient in a whole supplement but I can’t find quite what I’m after.

@FigandHoney that Ava bracelet must have a fault… those temps are too low surely? Hoping you did ovulate as all the other signs point that way. You will know when (if!) your period arrives when expected following usual luteal phase length.

I went for a day 21 blood test yesterday at 7dpo and saw results in my NHS app same day (impressive). It’s come back as ‘borderline’ for ovulation at 28.4 nmol/l and I’m advised to contact the GP. Has anyone else had this and can advise? I know I ovulated based on temps, RHR, symptoms etc so this is a ‘best case’ result for me. I know it’s under the NHS threshold of >30 and it starts with the egg >32.
Tbh I’m pleasantly surprised as was expecting much lower given my irregular periods and mid cycle spotting that I sometimes have. I have done loads in terms of lifestyle, diet etc. Perhaps given myself a false sense of security?
I guess the result means it’s very unlikely I have conceived this cycle as it would be higher if pregnant - though not really sure on that one.

Cressie2 · 01/11/2023 06:56

@H0pefull I take Pregnacare Conception and make my husband take the men’s version too X

H0pefull · 01/11/2023 06:38

Morning ladies!

is anybody able to recommend any good pre pregnancy vitamins at all please? I already have B12 injections through my GP as I am deficient so I don’t need to focus much on that😊

thank you xx

H0pefull · 31/10/2023 21:13

Absolutely @Cressie2 ! Currently doing exactly the same thing😂x

Mrsspoon3 · 31/10/2023 21:01

That must have been so hard @Cressie2! I would have found that so upsetting too. Thanks for your reply! I went to the GP a couple of weeks ago but she said as I got pregnant last cycle (although it ended) she doesn’t think the tests would show anything and it’s just a case of keeping trying, but to come back in February if I’m not pregnant. I’m not sure how true that is but I know I’m ovulating (usually! Not this cycle though) so will just keep trying for now. I’ll go back sooner if this cycle didn’t end soon or if I have another anovulatory one. That sounds a good pick me up too! 😊 I went for a little walk today and it did help.

Ah thank you @Khanga27! I’m really sorry to hear about your MMC. That must have been so hard too having friends due the same month you would have been. We’ve been trying 7 months now, but feels like forever!! I’m so sorry to hear it’s been such a tough day for you. Being stuck in limbo is so hard. I hope those are good signs and it’s good news for you soon!

Thanks @H0pefull! 💗

Cressie2 · 31/10/2023 20:59

Anyone else eating their feelings (the leftovers of the Halloween sweets for local kids which I sneakily saved for myself) whilst watching the bake off? The best remedy for any blues…

No baby here but my food baby is THRIVING.

H0pefull · 31/10/2023 14:59

@SnookyPook sending you lots of love, this is so hard for you ❤
Sounds like a confusing month for you @FigandHoney :( hopefully your dark OPKs were a good sign & this could be your month!

@JustTrying1 such a big decision to come to but completely understandable, you have to put your MH first & so reassuring for you to know you are both on the same page. Lots of love to you, and as others have said, taking the pressure off has been the change that's worked for lots of people, you never know! xx

Sorry you are feeling low today @Mrsspoon3 :( it is 100% valid to feel upset! it doesn't mean you are any less happy for your friend, but of course it's going to hit a nerve for you, and that's completely ok. TTC is so hard in itself, without the external factors such as people close to you being pregnant, be kind to yourself

@Khanga27 sorry you are having a bad day! Being in limbo is the worst, hopefully your cramps / feeling sick are a good sign..fingers crossed for you xx

Khanga27 · 31/10/2023 10:40

Not having a good day today. After yesterday's test, my head has been completely full of all of this because of the "limbo" line/non-line I got yesterday on FRER. I've got some very low light cramp in tum and legs today and feeling a bit sick as well. I don't normally get nausea with my period, but I don't know whether this is just how my body has changed from the MMC and having both medical and surgical management for that, and that maybe I don't know my body anymore or how to recognise signs of period coming anymore. Sorry just needed somewhere to vent as it's just non-stop in my head at the moment.
