TWW after Chemical - anyone else?

rosied31 · 17/10/2023 11:15

I'm 4dpo after having a chemical/early miscarriage last month. The TWW crazies are really setting in, is anyone else in the same boat 😣? So desperate for some good news after such a tough time of TTC the last few months. Baby dust to all x

@rosied31 great news! So happy to hear that. Absolutely get you feeling nervous still but take the wins! For now, for today, everything is ok ❤️😊

Swirls346 · 01/11/2023 16:01

@rosied31 that's great news! Things are looking positive for you and hopefully you can relax a bit now. How did you get the progesterone ? And how did you know if your progesterone is low. I'm worried about it Cus my first pregnancy was IVF and was also on progesterone and clexane injections and feel like I could need it again. But could be over thinking it x

Swirls346 · 01/11/2023 15:59

@SnookyPook so sorry to hear that ! Really hope you are ok and have got lots of support xxx

rosied31 · 01/11/2023 15:45

Thanks so much @SnookyPook - I just had my results back and they're 1688 so they're pretty much bang on double in 48 hours with a bit extra, really relieved. I also have irregular cycles and ovulated cd 18 this month so I don't think I'm actually fully 5 weeks yet. The EPU said it all looks really good for now, really relieved. Obviously so much could happen between now and my first early reassurance scan but this has taken a huge weight off my shoulders for the time being. I absolutely recommend pushing for a progesterone prescription as that and 75mg aspirin are the only things I've done differently this month. Sending you lots of positive vibes, your rainbow baby will 100% come xxxx

@rosied31 thinking of you - really hope it's good news 🙏🏻

rosied31 · 01/11/2023 10:10

@SnookyPook I'm so so sorry that this was the final outcome :( that's absolutely horrible and must have taken such a toll on you having to wait so long to be told that. Be kind to yourself and allow yourself to grieve this loss. Sending big hugs <3 My blood test is at 11am so I'll know by the end of today, I'm absolutely sick to my stomach with anxiety 😔

@rosied31 thank you lovely. Unfortunately I'm out. My HCG remained low and wasn't doubling (apart from one random result). They were investigating for ectopic but had a scan Monday and more bloods which suggest, to their best guess, it's not ectopic but definitely not viable. Anyway, I started bleeding that evening. Was like my body knew there was no more hope. 😌 That's three in a row for me now so getting referred to fertility which at least feels proactive. It's been a tough few days - not least because Monday was also my original due date from my MMC in April 😌

829 is on the lower side but still within normal range I believe. Will keep everything crossed for you. Mine never got that high even at 6+4. Do let me know how you get on if you want to. Xx

rosied31 · 31/10/2023 10:58

Hey @SnookyPook hoping everything went well for you last week 💛 I had my blood HCG done yesterday at 4w6d (according to Fertility Friend app) and it came back at 829, feeling so unbearably anxious that this is going to be the start of a miscarriage as I keep seeing other people on mumsnet with results over 1000 at this stage. Going back for another test tomorrow to see if it’s doubled but not feeling particularly hopeful given I have basically no symptoms anymore 😢

@rosied31 thank you - just waiting for the latest blood results... 😬🙏

@SnookyPook hope you're ok after your blood test the other day <3

@Swirls346 thank you, that's reassuring to know. Had a bit of a freak out last night as I had some watery red light spotting when I wiped after going to the toilet. It only lasted for that one wipe and then hasn't happened since - I've read that spotting can be pretty harmless in early pregnancy but still made me prang out so much. I'm 14dpo today, still testing pretty strong. Hard to compare to the FRERS that I've been doing up til today as I had to use a Clear Blue cos I've run out of FRERS. Think I'm gonna try and get some Boots tests today, the red dye ones are so much better xx

Hi @MrsG2907 so sorry for your losses but congratulations on your new pregnancy. I’m 4+2 today so only a day behind you. I’m feeling really anxious too - yesterday I was feeling quite positive but today I’m feeling worried (despite a strong positive FRER) as I don’t feel that my boobs are as tender as yesterday and the hungover feeling I’ve had each morning this week isn’t there today. I keep reading that pregnancy symptoms really fluctuate in the first few weeks but it just makes me feel like a miscarriage is imminent. Have your symptoms been fluctuating this time round too? X

A strong test is a really good sign! And with my first pregnancy my boobs were not sore in the slightest!! Until 16 weeks xxx

MrsG2907 · 26/10/2023 10:29

I know they tell you not to trust a strong line on a test but it has always been positive for me - when I had good line progression was when I had my son.
also, with my 8 week miscarriage I had no symptoms at all so I knew before I even started bleeding ( with my son I had a lot)
with the chemical I felt a little hungover but nothing else and the lines were so faint
This time round I’ve had sore boobs and hungover feeling but it’s been up and down and not all day long
so hard not to worry but just taking every day as it comes
xxx

@rosied31 thanks so much - that's interesting to hear. I'm not quite out yet though... When they rang me yesterday evening my HCG had perfectly doubled twice since the last blood test on Thurs. So now going back in tomorrow and if it's doubled again, they will get me in for a scan Friday morning. In complete limbo but seems there is still a tiny glimmer of hope. Time will tell I guess. 🙏

Really praying for you 🙏 great sign that the hcg js Increasing so much x

rosied31 · 25/10/2023 17:21

That’s such promising and hopeful news, keeping absolutely everything crossed for you 🙏🏼

@Swirls346 Thank you <3 we've been trying for 6 months, I had x2 chemicals in that time. I ovulated day 18 this month and I tend to ovulate between day 17-22 usually so it was pretty much bang on time after the bleed.

@SnookyPook I was able to obtain a progesterone prescription at a private gynae clinic at the beginning of this month. I'm fairly sure if you're getting a recurrent miscarriage referral they will most likely prescribe this to you anyway, but on the off chance that they don't then private is a good option. I paid £350 for a consultation and a scan, the prescription was an extra £100 but I got it transferred over to an NHS one through my GP so only ended up paying the NHS charge in the end. Let me know if you want any advice or help on this xx

SnookyPook · 24/10/2023 17:08

@Swirls346 they haven't. My GP was a bit useless and very much 'by the book' - as I'd 'only' had two previous losses she didn't want to do anything. I bypassed her to contact the EPU who dealt with my MMC in April and they offered me a 6wk scan, which I went in for today. However, as my HCG levels were so low, they said scan wouldn't show anything. They've repeated bloods instead which will hopefully provide some clarity. But, they also said they can refer straight to fertility clinic, without need to involve GP. So, taking that as a win! I guess depending on what bloods show they may try something else like progesterone checks/pessaries, but I'm really not hopeful for this one.

Day of my BFP HCG was 69. Eight days later (should have been about 5+4) it had only gone up to 137. So extremely low rise and low level for gestation. Just hoping it doesn't all drag on too long.

Swirls346 · 24/10/2023 16:35

@SnookyPook Oh no that's not good :( so sorry. Have they checked your progesterone at all? X

Swirls346 · 24/10/2023 16:35

@rosied31 that's amazing! Congratulations 🎉. Certainly has given me more hope. Did you ovulate around the same time this month? How long have to been ttc?
I'm cycle day 12 now and usually ovulation is around day 17 so will start doing the test strips soon xxx

rosied31 · 24/10/2023 15:41

@SnookyPook I'm so so sorry :( that is really sad news. Be kind to yourself and allow yourself to grieve for your loss. Really great that they're referring you, hopefully you get your appointment very soon. I'm really not getting my hopes up too much this month, I don't really have any strong symptoms other than on and off breast tenderness. It's just so touch and go at this point when it's so early. Just going to try and think positive thoughts as I approach what would be my period due date on thursday x

@rosied31 ah congratulations lovely, that's great news! Really hope this is your sticky bean! 🙏🌈

Unfortunately looks like another loss for me - just awaiting further bloods but my HCG is extremely low. Should be 6 weeks today. I felt very despairing yesterday but a bit more philosophical today. The silver lining is I will now qualify for more support and will be referred straight to fertility clinic if this does end so.. I at least feel like there is some positive from it.

rosied31 · 24/10/2023 14:41

@Swirls346 @SnookyPook got my BFP this morning at 11DPO. I have no idea whether it's going to stick but I thought I would post on here as it may provide some hope for others who have suffered early losses recently. This pregnancy comes exactly 4 weeks after my withdrawal bleed from the chemical last month so there absolutely is lots of hope following an early miscarriage. Just praying this is finally my rainbow baby <3
