Sorry I find it hard to remember people to tag when I'm using the app but thanks for all the wise words re period!! I bleed for about 7 days and then can often still have spotting/very light bleed up to day 10. I've literally always been like this and I've had ultrasound scans in the past etc and nothing going on, just my usual annoying long, heavy periods. I don't do OPKs or anything, I just fertility friend as a rough guide. My cycles I'm not sure, before I last went on the combined pill they were 27-28 days each time. But since I've come off it ive only tracked two and they've been 26 and 27 days. When I was ttc DC1 like 6yrs ago my cycles were about 23-24 days long, they've gotten a bit longer as I've aged interestingly.

I think we will try and get on with it as soon as the bleeding has stopped...I think I'm just going to let it be regarding DSis wedding, I would feel terrible if I end up missing it but tbh she would never think twice about doing it to me so...and I want to leave one of my jobs and I can't now as I want my mat pay, so the sooner I get pregnant the better in that regard...

Rose38 · 22/11/2023 17:36

7dpo I think. I got the positive ovulation test last week Tue. But the day before was the first day I started using that Clearblue pink version ovulation machine...I think I read that the first time you use it, it will always show negative (even if there is a surge). So it's possible I might have ovulated from Mon. Didn't dtd that day but we did on the Sun.

I tried a First Reponse Rapid test before but it came out negative. Might be too early. Will try again in a couple of days. God I've spent so much money on pregnancy and ovulation tests 🙈🙈🙈

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 22/11/2023 16:46

Honestly I wasn’t tracking anything and had such a mental time at work I can’t remember any of the days. We did have unprotected sex using the withdrawal method but pretty sure it wasn’t at a fertile time. Plus I have no symptoms at all (even AF ones) which is not like me at all.

I think it’s just been delayed because of all the lack of sleep and stress. If it goes on another few days though I might be in the territory of not having to skip the next cycle as the DD would be early sept instead of end of Aug 🤣.

It’s annoying though because I was supposed to be having blood tests on day 3 of my cycle, and can’t schedule follow up until I get those back!

So just to update I have a week until my periods are due but I've had cramping since after ovulation. A few nights it has been so painful that it was preventing me from sleeping. Does that seem normal? I'm hoping it's a good sign.
Another thing I noticed is I had headaches for 5 days in a row after ovulation.

This month we dtd the day after my periods stopped. Then after leaving a day gap again. Then another day gap dtd on day I tested positive for ovulation. Unfortunately didn't manage to do the days after that.

I'll hopefully do a pregnancy test later but I think it's still a bit early.

Headaches and cramping that keeps you from sleeping! That's annoying! I'm not sure, it might be a good sign, since it's something you don't usually have. How many DPO are you, more or less?

hi everyone! @AnaReis the rain/desert thing made me laugh!

@WeightoftheWorld mine are 4 days but day 4 is really just spotting. 7 days must be a real pain! Do you track ovulation?

We gave this cycle a miss because wanted to avoid a summer birthday…but now my period is flipping late! I’m cd 34 today and cycles are usually 28-30 days. Definitely not pregnant but I had a hellish week at work last week where I was doing 15 hr days and had a bad cold at the same time so I think that’s probably affected things. Has this happened to anyone else?

It’s so annoying as I just want to crack on, and now also worried that there is something wrong with me.

I was going to ask the same as @WhatTheEll 😅
I hope, if you're not pregnant, that AF just shows up! It's really annoying when it takes a long time! At least for me, unless I had no sex whatsoever, I keep having that lingering hope that no white as sheet test can shake!.... Just when I have that proper, unmistakeable flow of AF is when I accept that the cycle is over. 😩
It might just be due to stress + illness that you ovulated a bit later than usual. Did you do any tracking or see EWFM?

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow Yep, those things can definitely affect period. Are you DEFINITELY not pregnant? 😬😬

WeightoftheWorld · 21/11/2023 17:51

Does anyone else have really long periods? I bleed for at least 7 days (and often up to 10) but also have fairly short-ish cycles. Wondering if we are missing the boat a bit if my fertile window starts a bit earlier than fertility friend says, but then I might still be bleeding then? Can you ovulate whilst still bleeding? I don't personally like to have sex whilst I'm bleeding though just as a personal preference.

My period can be up to 7. It's now spotting CD1-2, really heavy CD3-4 and then tapering off CD5-6/7. Annoying!! If I were you, I do OPK testing as soon as you've finished your period, so from CD8/9. Just so you don't miss it. And no to AF sex here too 🙏🏻😆

MrsPepper82 · 22/11/2023 06:57

@AnaReis yes we are wonder women 😹
especially since we have been soaking wet from rain a couple of times already.

My period is around 5 days + some mild spotting during which I already am very redy for action.
@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow same here - heavy stress and being sick delayed my period few times.

How long are your cycles? My periods often last 7 days too, it's so annoying. It's at least 6 days and on the 7th many times I still have a brownish cm show up on my knickers 😣
My cycles are between 25 and 27 days, so I usually have my last day on the 7th and then enter my fertile window on the 10th, ovulating on the 14th day of my cycle.
If you have 10 days of period then it might be tapering off at the same time as your fw is beginning 🤔

This is so interesting how RHR shows pregnancy and AF approaching :)
Same time - both show second oestrogen surge as drop and then Oct goes up ⬆️ and this month drops down again.

How easy to monitor!

How others are doing??
@AnaReis 😆how did your complications solved?

Well we managed to DTD twice lol my hormones make my libido crazy high and I can't resist 😅😅
I think yesterday was the last day of my fertile window, but I'm not tracking anything at the moment so who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️
In Portugal we have a saying which goes "those who walk in the rain get wet" which sometimes is applied to having sex and then getting pregnant (usually unintentionally lol). Well we have this superpower where we've been in the rain for months on end and are as dry as a desert 😅🤷🏻‍♀️

@WhatTheEll thx ☺️ only few days more till fertility doctor appointment and day after AF should arrive so have much hope in that cycle 😇
This cycle I feel now just as any other PMS time, so have not even tested, I trust my intuition and lack of last month symptoms.

MrsPepper82 · 17/11/2023 17:14

🙄 hcg only 2,3 so nothing interesting. Don’t even bother getting hopes up cause last time when I got slight test lines on 10th cycle day that would already be visible in my blood today.
Progesterone is amazing, last time it was 38 and already then doctor said it’s super easy to get pregnant with such number. This time it is 49
TSH is suuper dooper also 😇ft4 14 and TSF 1,5 🤗 so those are reasons to my hot hot bbt.
I think I can now let bbt go and take it more easy with only taking OPK.
And I also have Hashimoto’s - antibodies number was 298.

I don’t really care about time of birth. I just want a baby 💕

Edited

All sounds great!! Everything crossed for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻💜💜

@AnaReis @MrsPepper82 @WeightoftheWorld Thanks.....it is pretty 💩 but I'm seeing the positives. Got a few Xmas nights out booked and probably won't track this cycle and just mosey on through to Jan.
🎉

@AFeastForCrows good luck!! Although exactly why we're not going to do focused DTD because of a ANOTHER August baby 🤣 but I definitely would not complain if it happened by chance with zero tracking 😇

AFeastForCrows · 17/11/2023 06:02

Hi everyone, back in my fertile week again - CD11 I think

I’ve realised I’m rubbish at doing OPKs, I can never find the time to do them more than once a day and even then I’ll realise in the evening that I haven’t done it yet 🤦🏻‍♀️

so we’re just DTD as much as possible, managed almost every day since AF finished and will try to keep that up so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

problem is if I fall this month it will be another August baby, that end of the year is already pretty packed for our family but hey ho 😂

AnaReis · 16/11/2023 18:55

@WeightoftheWorld Oh no! Sorry AF arrived!... I did that with my second, we had 2 weddings that year, one in July and another in October but we were unable to attend the second because I got pregnant before we intended to lol :x

@MrsPepper82 well the most important thing is that you feel confident in the place where you're giving birth, wherever that is. Stress hormones interfere with birth, so as long as you feel safe and cared for then that's the best place to give birth in. Good luck on your 2ww! If you test do let us know the result! :P

I'm now in my fertile window... my kids both decided that they want to sleep in our bed, my 3yo said he's afraid of the dark!... So now it's slightly more challenging to DTD (and also because my husband was being an idiot). We'll see what this month brings, but I'm not really bothered if we wait some more months. I've never been heavily pregnant in the summer, but you know what I'm more afraid of? Baby catching autumn/winter viruses while he/she is very small :x My youngest basically barely got any viruses because he was born right before the lockdowns... he had a cold at 2 weeks and then nothing for ages.... This year though, autumn has been so much softer in terms of viruses than the last 2 years! Phew! But well this again is me trying to control everything.... I'm not going to think too much into this and what happens, happens!....

MrsPepper82 · 16/11/2023 18:41

@WeightoftheWorld blaaahh
😒
@AnaReis I don’t have the trust in myself for home birth 😔and first was 4.460 and second 4380 :) and their wellbeing during labour was a concern for midwives they hurried up and even doctors were asked to be present during birthing moment but all went well and no help was actually needed. Coward as I am still no courage to do it this time (wow what a bold choice of words 😛)
after my dip yesterday I am back on the hot side, rising even more.
So now I’m wondering maybe to still take 7 dpo test tomorrow noonish, I must attend to same building anyway tomorrow and would have more calm night-sleep during weekend - curious to see what’s the progesterone level behind such bbt. And not going to lie- of course I hope to see hcg higher than 5. And if not then I can still pass this 2ww time convincing it was too early 😆

WeightoftheWorld · 16/11/2023 17:22

Ahhh I'm out too now. Ah well, I'm not too upset really as the silver lining is that I won't be sick all over the Christmas period, which would have been particularly rubbish like.

I'm not sure whether to have a month off now or not though. As my DSis is getting married next September and I really don't want to risk not being able to attend. Hmm.

AnaReis · 15/11/2023 23:04

MrsPepper82 · 15/11/2023 10:23

@WhatTheEll I feel you 😔nothing can really make that day better until you can actively start again.

@AnaReis wow - never dared giving birth at home and my children were so big they wouldn’t have let me.

I got my temp drop as should, due to oestrogen second wave. So now again just dull waiting.

I have to tell you that my daughter was 3,560kg (7lbs 14 oz) and I had a 20h labor with 30 mins pushing with her, tore a bit and had to get 3 stitches, had a bit of bleeding after the placenta came out, took forever for the lochia to stop. With my youngest he was 4,280kg (9lbs 7oz) and I had a 6h labor with 15 mins pushing and only had some grazes that didn't even need stitches, barely bled after birthing the placenta and had 2 weeks of lochia. It was really easy, despite his size. My kids are always big, my husband is 1,91m tall (6feet 3in) and although I'm tiny (1,58m/5feet 2in) my daughter measured 55cm and my son 57cm. He had such a massive head that even now he wears hats the same size as his sister 😅
This means that big babies aren't harder to birth than average or small ones 😁
