Boots 5 days early tests.. evaps/indents?

Has any one had evaps or indents on boots 5 days early tests? Or does anyone have any line progression pics starting from a faint line?

I used them last month and had about 5 tests with faint lines on, I also had faint lines on easy@home along side them. They never got darker and AF arrived on time. I wasn’t sure if it was a chemical or just bad batches of two different brands.

im now 10dpo on my next cycle and I’ve had a couple of faint lines today on boots tests. The pic attached is one of the latest.

I’ve used boots many times and never had even a hint of a line if the test is negative, not even hours after it’s dried. I’ve always found them the most reliable early detection tests. Now I just don’t know what brand to turn to, FRER are no longer available. I know easy@home are awful
for false positives, I’ve had a couple false positives on them myself.

I am just going to have to wait it out this month and hope the line progresses. I have a CB digital early but don’t want to waste it because the line on boots is so faint.

what’s other people’s experiences with these tests? I’ve found a couple of posts about them but there’s not many.

@Dan521 I got a new box of easy@home opks including hcg last week but of course I used all the hcgs in the last few days. I'm glad though as I no longer trust them. I've just had a delivery of the orange Premom ones as I couldn't afford to keep getting boots & clearblues 😂 Did one just now and stark white. Better than an evap or indent though I guess 🤷‍♀️😕

Dan521 · 06/10/2023 18:13

My next months supply of opks arrived today, they come with easy at home hcg tests in the box. Decided to poas on one of them and of course another vvfl. They’re awful those tests.

@Sez281 no af for me either, I expect it will be tomorrow. I’ve had loads of watery cm again today, the same amount and consistency of af I thought it had started. It’s usually a lot dryer and more thick/creamy by this point. Still BFNs though. I also convince myself I can see a whisper on every test 🙈

@Dan521 I forgot to say I don't really get the temping thing as I've never done (I think it would just be another obsession for me lol) it but does sound like yours should have dropped by now? I know you're still getting bfn's but you do hear stories of people getting really late positives 🤷‍♀️🤞

Sez281 · 06/10/2023 13:16

@Dan521 hopefully you'll be able to talk him round to the idea. As you say it makes more sense checking him first before you need to go down a long and expensive road!

No sign of AF for me yet, 11DPO which I'm happy about as it might mean my LP has lengthened a bit🙏. Cramping and very sore boobs the last couple of days but still bfn on tests so I'd say it's just around the corner! I did think I saw a whisper of a line on test this morning but I probably manifested it 😂

Dan521 · 05/10/2023 22:12

I looked it up and they take the sample on the first appointment and pay you £35 per appointment. Then invite you to a second to either discuss the results if they’re not satisfactory or discuss the next step if they are. The first step takes 2-4 weeks. I think this is genius 😂 OH is saying no though.

im itching for him to go have it done, I don’t want to waste another year trying going through this cycle every month if there’s an issue and there’s no hope. If there’s no issues with him I’ll have testing which will take longer and be more expensive but at least male factors would be ruled out. I think he’s worried about the reality of negative results from it.

how are you getting on @Sez281 any sign of bfp or af yet? I’m due af Friday or Saturday. I’ve been exhausted again tonight and napped and had quite a bit of cramping: I feel like I’ve had every single symptom this month but still BFNs. I’ve started temping and it’s quite high at 37.3, usually drops before AF but I have no other full chart to compare it to because I’ve never been consistent previously.

@Dan521 Clever thinking with the donation idea 😂 Although it's ridiculous that you aren't able to just have that test done individually 🙄

Dan521 · 05/10/2023 09:11

I read up on the ones you can buy in a shop, apparently they only look at the sperm count and are not very reliable. They can’t tell you if they’re swimming in circles or if the fluid is sufficient to get them to where they need to be.

Boymamaxx · 05/10/2023 08:39

Although can't see it on their website anymore but Superdrug comes up!

Boymamaxx · 05/10/2023 08:38

Not sure if they're as reliable OP but Lloyds sell a sperm test.. never used them or have any idea on how good they are but thought it was worth mentioning 😄

Dan521 · 05/10/2023 08:34

13dpo today, done some orange Premom IC because I have loads of them and they’ve been bfn. At least they haven’t give false positives. Starting temping today also so I can get a base line to confirm my next O. I’ve tried temping in the past and kept forgetting to do it when I wake up.

after spending ages yesterday phoning around fertility clinics trying to find somewhere that will do a stand alone sperm analysis we’ve decided the only way to get one with out paying the best part of a grand for a package is to submit a sample to be a sperm doner they’ll soon tell you if the swimmers are up to scratch 🙈😂

@Cowlover89 congratulations that’s great to hear!

Aww Congratulations @Cowlover89 I love hearing stories like that ☺️

Cowlover89 · 04/10/2023 17:26

@Sez281 I'm currently pregnant with a 10 day luteal phase it can happen 😊

Sez281 · 04/10/2023 17:16

@Dan521 that's very frustrating seeing as you only want the one test done. Could his gp not arrange it like bloods? We haven't been down that road with my OH yet but I'm sure we will have to at some stage

@buckingmad that's really interesting. It's mad what vitamins can do! It's not really my ov day I need to extend it's just my luteal phase. My ovulation was a week late this cycle which I don't mind of it extends my LP, I'm 9DPO now so will wait and see 🤞

Dan521 · 04/10/2023 16:52

@AppleTree16 I think given the fact that so many people are getting evaps on these the best thing to do is to test again in 24/48 hours and see if it is more visible. I know that feels like a lifetime though when you’re wanting to know for sure 😭

OP posts:
AppleTree16 · 04/10/2023 16:20

I’ve had what I think is the tiniest whisper of a line on a boots test. Can anyone else see anything or am I imagining?? No idea where I am in my cycle as still bfing and only had one period post partum so far. (Baby 15 months now).

@Sez281 I noticed after taking seven seas pre conception vitamins that my ovulation came forward 2-3 days and on the TTC board I was on at the time a couple of others mentioned it too. They're pretty cheap so not much lost if it didn't do anything for you but thought I would mention.

Before taking them my cycles would be 30-36 days long and I would ovulate about 10 days before, after taking them it became 14. I didn't change anything else and by this point had been trying a fair few months so was familiar with when I ovulated.

Dan521 · 04/10/2023 13:52

@Sez281 fingers crossed this is your month and you don’t need the appointment!

I’ve been looking into sperm analysis today, called a few clinics, none of them do it as a stand alone test. You have to book packages which includes all kinds extra. Were happy to continue just tying as usual but just want to rule out if sperm quality is an issue or not. We don’t want to waste another year trying if there is no hope the whole time.

Aw @Jess1997 they're definite lines, tentative congratulations ☺️💖

@Dan521 Yeah I'm definitely going to have to do something as the max LP I've ever had is 11 days. I have managed to conceive twice this year but unfortunately resulted in MMC & CP. I think the procieve max vitamins I've been taking the last month have definitely affected this cycle as I usually enter fertile window on cd8 and peak around cd 12-14 but this time around it was cd 21 so I'm interested to see if it's going to lengthen my LP phase too.. if not and AF comes in the next couple of days I have an appointment with a fertility consultant in 2 weeks so hopefully they'll be able to look at that. I'm turning 41 at the end of this month and no DCs yet so time isn't really on my side 🥴

Dan521 · 04/10/2023 12:28

ah @Jess1997 how exciting! Congratulations. I think a clear blue early digital would probably pick that up. I might try the wondfos next time. i have loads of Premom left but haven’t had even a hint of a line on them.

@Sez281 have you considered looking at ways to lengthen your luteal phase? I’m just thinking if it can take up to 12 days to implant with the most common being day 9 and your LP is 10 days, your lining might be shedding before the egg has had a chance to implant. May be worth looking into, I’ve seen people mention primrose oil to lengthen it although I am not sure how effective it actually is. I think LP is 15 days although I have never ending positive opks on and off throughout the month I’ve just been going off the peak. I might bbt this month.

@Dan521 that story was something 😂😂😂
@Sez281 and I agree 9dpo is early, I’m 11DPO today and only got the first hint of a line yesterday!
12dpo is still early too!!
but I highly highly recommend the wondfo early tests off Amazon! They’re picking up a like better than the Premom

Dan521 · 04/10/2023 08:48

@Sez281 there’s still a chance if you’re only 9dpo. I’m about 12dpo now and accepted that I am out this month. Just waiting for af to arrive now in the next few days. Think we’re going to look into having fertility testing done next. OH thinks he has low sperm.

Sez281 · 04/10/2023 07:38

@Dan521 Aw bless, it sounds like he's really invested! Fingers crossed for you 🤞

My boots test was BFN this morn so I think yesterdays was an indent. There's stlll a whisper on my easy@home but I don't trust them anymore. I'm still only 9DPO AF due in the next day or so. Will just have to wait it out now 🤷‍♀️

Dan521 · 03/10/2023 23:03

I think he thinks I’m messing when I’m trying to convince him I’m not pregnant he’s like “well you don’t know for certain do you give it another week” 😭 I’ve had enough for one day stop the world I’m getting off.
