Any other lurkers out there patiently (or impatiently!) waiting to TTC in the new year?

Anything in particular you're doing to prepare?

Happy new year @StampOnTheGround I’m 17 and a bit weeks with a wee boy. Although movements are still sporadic. Anomaly scan is in less than 3 weeks

skyerojo · 01/01/2025 15:27

Hey happy new year everyone! Big year ahead ❤️

Aw that's lovely @StampOnTheGround when did you start to feel kicks? I can't wait for that. Definitely starting to get a little bump over here for now though I think! All being well, I'm now 15 weeks and next scan is in Feb.

We actually found out if boy or girl weeks ago, but I've still not opened the envelope! Everyone thinks I'm mad! I just haven't felt ready to find out yet for some reason xx

Hey - hope you've all had a great Christmas!

@skyerojo @CosmoMango - hope your NHS dating scans went well? 🤞🏻

I hope you're doing okay @Timeforacutie ❤️

I'm now 27 weeks with a very active little boy!

skyerojo · 23/11/2024 17:52

Congratulations @CosmoMango that must be such a relief. I've got my next scan and NIPT next Saturday 🤞

CosmoMango · 22/11/2024 19:25

NIPT extra with lots of chromosomal disorders that are compatible with life but make things trickier completely clear. Just waiting for my NHS dating scan at the end of next week now

skyerojo · 20/11/2024 20:40

@CosmoMango 30 times a day! 😮

I've not had loads of symptoms, which I guess adds to the anxiety a bit, but sickness has definitely been gradually kicking in recently. Including random gagging!

Unfortunately so! It’s all caused by gagging though, very little nausea

My NHS scan will be my 5th scan

CosmoMango · 20/11/2024 20:07

@skyerojo NIPT results within a week. Symptoms at 8-9 weeks went away. Came back with a vengeance vomiting 30+ times a day now. Just small amounts so managing to keep my meals down. How are you feeling?

NHS scan in 1 week when I’ll be close to 13 weeks

skyerojo · 20/11/2024 19:07

What a relief @StampOnTheGround! That's an amazing milestone, congratulations. Do you know what you're having yet?

@CosmoMango sorry to hear you're still anxious, when are you due your NIPT results? I've just booked that too along with another reassurance scan for when I'm 10 weeks. How are your symptoms?

I know I'm going to sound unhinged but I quite literally can't believe we all have to live every day of these (hopefully 🤞) 9 months without knowing what's going on inside?! I must think the worst at least hourly, even though I have no real reason to think anything is wrong. Already can't wait for my next scan but dreading it at same time - what a weird and nerve wracking time. Anyone relate or am I just a bit nuts?

I should be coming up to 9 weeks now after a reassuring scan at 7 weeks 💫🙏

ahh how lovely @StampOnTheGround congrats!
I’m 11 and a bit weeks now but something just feels off. Paid for a private NIPT as baby never moves on scans and I’m a bit paranoid they’re not well. Last scan was Sunday and they were measuring ahead and otherwise look to be developing fine.

skyerojo · 19/11/2024 19:03

What a horrible few weeks @Timeforacutie, really feel for you ❤️ so cruel.

And how unbelievably frustrating too to not feel listened to over something so potentially important. Glad you've got them paying attention now.

Really hope it's your turn very very soon 🙏💫

Well done for pushing @Timeforacutie and I really hope your time is coming soon! I hope you are doing okay.

@skyerojo @CosmoMango - I hope things are progressing well for you both.

I had my 20 week scan last week and everything looks great, extremely grateful!

CosmoMango · 17/11/2024 21:48

I’m glad they seem to be doing something to help you now @Timeforacutie but really frustrating they didn’t do anything sooner

Timeforacutie · 16/11/2024 09:04

Hi @skyerojo @StampOnTheGround @CosmoMango

Thank you all for your messages , I am going to be ok.

I had the D&C and I think it was the best possible / least traumatic and most quick option. The worst is they ask you what you want to do with your baby’s remains. Never thought I’d be reading about that.

I had a meeting with my GP where I pushed
to treat my thyroid again as a TSH lower than 2.5 is optimal for TTC and a TSH higher than 4 is associated with increased rates of miscarriage, preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. My TSH had been testing at 5.5, 5.3, 4.7, 4.5, 3.7 this year and my GP had done nothing. I’m grateful they now agreed to start me on a low dose of thyroxine which should bring it down and make it easier to conceive and also increase the chance of a healthy pregnancy and baby. Whilst grateful I’m bummed that when I tested at 4.5 in my first trimester my GP did nothing. However I’ve read stories of undiagnosed thyroid issues in pregnancy and people who have babies who have health issues so in the end I’m grateful they’re treating me. Sorry for so much detail but in case someone else reads this and doesn’t know and it can help them, it’s worth it. Because I didn’t know and I wish I had known earlier and been able to push and advocate for myself . This has been the biggest takeaway for me with the NHS - you have to advocate and push for yourself so hard.

please don’t stop posting here, it brings me joy to read your updates. I’m excited for everyone’s journey and wishing you all well.

xx

skyerojo · 09/11/2024 16:27

Oh no @Timeforacutie I am so so sorry to hear that. How sad and unfair. I really hope you're ok and are at least being well looked after. Still here to talk any time if it would help ❤️

Having had major worries during ttc that things might not happen as they should, I admit I had totally underestimated the different anxiety that then kicks in, especially in these early weeks. It's really complex isn't it, sending all of you lots of love 💐

Thank you @CosmoMango @StampOnTheGround

hope both of your pregnancies continue to go smoothly!

@CosmoMango I really hope that’s not the case - Google can tell you anything so lack of symptoms could mean nothing. Thinking of you

@StampOnTheGround youve made it to 19 weeks, you’ve got this ! Statistics are on your side baby mama

sending love xx

StampOnTheGround · 06/11/2024 20:09

I'm so sorry @Timeforacutie, look after yourself and I hope you get in with EPU fast and are well looked after ❤️

I'm 19 weeks currently and extremely anxious for my 20 week scan next week 😬

CosmoMango · 06/11/2024 19:59

So sorry @Timeforacutie what an awful thing to happen.
I am worried I might be in the same boat, last scan was 8+4 and symptoms have dropped off a cliff. Next scan in a few days at 9+6 but I am very worried

Timeforacutie · 06/11/2024 19:57

Hi everyone, hope you are doing ok. @StampOnTheGround @CosmoMango

@skyerojo I hope everything is going smoothly for you.

I went in for a private early pregnancy scan today and unfortunately found out I had miscarried. I am currently 9 weeks 4 days but the foetus? Embryo? Was measuring 8 weeks 5 days. Tomorrow I will call the early pregnancy unit for next steps.

Hope I’m the 1 in 8 for this group that miscarries and that everyone else has a boring, smooth rest of their pregnancies. Sending love xx

skyerojo · 16/10/2024 20:25

Thank you so much 😭 @StampOnTheGround @Timeforacutie

No I haven't told him yet, think I want to be totally sure either way before I tell him what's been happening. They say it doubles every 48 hours right? So I'll test again Friday and then if all looking ok make a plan to tell him over the weekend.

Fingers crossed so hard.

How are you guys getting on? 🤰

Hope everyone's having smooth and enjoyable pregnancies. Please keep me updated! I love hearing the updates, especially given think I'm alone ttc on this thread now 😆🫠

This being such a lucky thread brings me lots of hope though, my turn next if I'm lucky 🤞🍀
