Any other lurkers out there patiently (or impatiently!) waiting to TTC in the new year?

Anything in particular you're doing to prepare?

Congratulations @CosmoMango! Although I’m sorry the birth wasn’t straightforward and you’ve been let down by the hospital. I tried to pump a bit with my first as breastfeeding didn’t work out, I really struggled and ultimately ended up formula feeding - I didn’t get much out pumping at all! Again, I felt it was out of my control and I remember how tough that felt, be kind to yourself. I hope your little boy’s injuries are healing!

@skyerojowell, my first came 3 days early, so you never know haha!

All is good over here thanks, settling into life with 2 boys! He’s 3 months old now (literally today) which is just absolutely crazy - he’s the sweetest little boy with the best smiles 😍

skyerojo · 21/06/2025 23:39

No baby here yet! Due in a few days but suspect he’ll want to overcook a bit as I’m a first timer 🐣

How are you getting on with the little one @StampOnTheGround? X

Baby boy born just over 2 weeks ago @StampOnTheGround

we unfortunately had an instrumental birth which was fine for me but left him with injuries. The hospital then got his weight wrong on day 3 (they thought he’d lost 18% and had really lost 5%) and he ended up in SCBU for blood tests etc. Everything was okay but we were forced onto formula and unfortunately now can’t breastfeed so I’m trying to pump but finding it very difficult to pump enough despite the many lactation consultants I’ve seen telling me I have a good supply and have enough. I’ve been urged by midwives to make a complaint against the hospital

StampOnTheGround · 17/06/2025 16:20

How are things going @CosmoMango@skyerojo- any babies to report yet? 🥰 Or how long left? I can’t work out when you should both me due! 😂

StampOnTheGround · 01/04/2025 21:49

Thank you @skyerojo@CosmoMango

I’m feeling pretty good, not the birth I wanted at all but all that matters is he arrived safe and healthy. My first was an emergency c section and so was this one, completely different circumstances.

@CosmoMango Completely relate to the not coming home feeling, I had it with both of mine, especially my first - pregnancy is a crazy time. Sounds really rough but 30 weeks is great, you’re on the gone straight now and it won’t be much longer!

@skyerojo Yes, I remember that stage - like I can’t do anything as it’s still so far away but I really should be doing something as it’s not too far away 😂

skyerojo · 28/03/2025 18:12

Ohhh huge congratulations @StampOnTheGround that’s lovely news!! How exciting. How are you feeling now? Did you get the kind of birth you were after?

30 weeks is a huge milestone @CosmoMango but I’m sorry to hear you’re still having a rough time. I also seem to have missed the glow stage, and still anxious every day too. But bump is definitely visible and just really trying to trust the process. So hard!

Feeling in that weird inbetweeny stage now of not having anything organised at all, but also realising it’s not actually too far off so I should prob start! You know it’s getting real when people ask your due date and then say “oh so pretty soon then” 😅

Congratulations @StampOnTheGround
I’m approaching 30 weeks now, the vomiting has reduced to only a few times a week but I now have a chest infection! Been in a few times for reduced movements and had a scan a few weeks ago when baby boy was estimated to be 2lb 1 and on the 50th percentile. Also had some issues with both my blood pressure and my heart. So lots of investigations. To be honest, I find this stage really daunting and not nice. I really feel like I missed any pregnancy glow that people claim happens 😅
I also have this awful feeling he’s not coming home that I’ve never been able to shake. I haven’t really allowed myself to think he’s real yet.

StampOnTheGround · 26/03/2025 16:28

@skyerojo baby boy was born on the 22nd March, 9 days early 😍

He is perfect and we’re now settling in as a family of 4!

How is everything going with you? It’ll soon fly around. We were very unprepared with this one, so we’re playing catch up now he is here 😂

How are you getting in @CosmoMango?

skyerojo · 14/03/2025 13:46

@StampOnTheGround so sorry I totally missed this, new app has got me all lost!

How are things now, any big updates?! Must’ve been so surreal finishing work, how are you enjoying maternity leave so far?

Now 25 weeks and have nothing sorted yet, but starting to think about clearing a room for proper baby stuff, looking at prams etc… Any tips welcome!

That's great news @skyerojo - welcome to the boy mum club 😍

I can't believe I'm 34 weeks and this unprepared, we basically have nothing sorted - I just be in denial that a new baby is actually coming very soon 😂 I think it will be easier once I've finished work, end of next week I'm done!

Hope you're doing well?

@CosmoMango - I really hope your sickness has stopped 🤞🏻🤞🏻

skyerojo · 10/02/2025 19:22

Thank you @CosmoMango, boy club!

CosmoMango · 09/02/2025 11:27

So happy it went well @skyerojo
How lovely you’re also having a boy!

skyerojo · 08/02/2025 21:53

@StampOnTheGround aw thank you for checking in. It went well, feeling very lucky. Baby seemed all healthy. We're having a little boy too ☺️

You're so close now with work, and great if you're sorted on name(s). I find boys names easier so was quietly relieved!

I also have absolutely nothing and not really sure what stage I should start buying things?! I guess soon probably, crikey

OP posts:
StampOnTheGround · 07/02/2025 08:08

How did you scan go @skyerojo - hope everything went well!

I'm not really sorted at all, which is completely different to with my 1st, poor second child 😂 we are getting closer with names, which is a relief as I didn't think we'd get here. I'm just counting down the days till I finish work!

skyerojo · 01/02/2025 22:12

Thank you @StampOnTheGround! Definitely, just really hope everything is ok and then I can relax into it all a bit more.

Wowee you're so close now! How are you feeling? Are you all sorted on names and nesting stuff yet? How exciting.

OP posts:
StampOnTheGround · 01/02/2025 21:54

Hope your scan goes well @skyerojo - I feel like it's such a big milestone because then you're half way through as well! 😍

Ahh @CosmoMango, sorry you're still being sick but glad all was well with your scan!

Im just about 32 weeks now, definitely feel like I'm on the final countdown - I finish work in 4 weeks 😬

skyerojo · 01/02/2025 21:52

@CosmoMango it definitely can be, but from the sounds of that I still think your doctor would be able to give you something to take to help it ease off a bit. I think when they do the assessment they also ask about heaving/gagging not just vomiting. Don't struggle on without help if you need it! Sounds rough 💐

OP posts:
CosmoMango · 01/02/2025 21:46

I’m not sure @skyerojo I was under the impression that HG was completely debilitating. I am still managing to work and I have very little nausea it’s just awful gagging that results in vomiting. At times 30+ times a day but reduced to 4-5 times now

skyerojo · 01/02/2025 19:52

So glad to hear your scan went well @CosmoMango! Oh no still vomiting, that's rough, do you have HG? I still have all day nausea some days but it's manageable.

OP posts:
CosmoMango · 01/02/2025 19:23

Hope the scan goes well @skyerojo I had mine a few weeks ago and it was all good. Still vomiting here and the bump isn’t very big yet

skyerojo · 01/02/2025 17:31

Hey everyone, just checking in - how are you all doing?

I've got my 20 week scan next week, which I'm nervous about, but otherwise all ok here. Bumping along! It's really popped now.

Hope you're all ok x

StampOnTheGround · 09/01/2025 18:53

@skyerojo - it's so exciting, it made me start imagining an actual little person rather than just a random baby, if that even makes sense 😂

It's so confusing with things like listening to the heartbeat, each area does things differently! My trust didn't listen to the heartbeat at 16 weeks, and I get why because it's difficult for them to find and they don't want to cause unnecessary anxiety. But I'd have still loved them to try. But others I know did get to hear the heartbeat, so fingers crossed you're one of them!

I can't believe I'm in my 3rd trimester - time flies!

skyerojo · 09/01/2025 17:12

Thank you @StampOnTheGround!

I originally thought boy but my husband is certain it's a girl so now I'm trying to imagine it that way round. Excited to find out either way 🥰 think I'll feel ready soon!

Got my 16 weeks midwife appointment tomorrow and would love for them to listen for heartbeat, but pretty sure they won't ☹️ weird how different hospitals have different rules. Did they at yours?

Happy New Year!

@skyerojo I think I was around 19 weeks - but for my first I was more like 22/23 weeks as I had an anterior placenta!

That's so exciting you have it written down, when we did that with my first, we waited a couple of hours before opening and that seemed like a lifetime 😂 wonder if you'll join the boy club with me and Cosmo!

@CosmoMango Ahh how exciting, welcome to the boy club! Fingers crossed the sickness subsides, that sounds terrible 😩 but, it's all worth it in the end!

CosmoMango · 01/01/2025 18:18

still vomiting daily! Wonder if this is me until the end now
