MERRY CHRISTMAS GIRLS

I really hope you all have a really lovely christmas and a pregnant new year!!!!!!!

hester · 24/12/2004 09:23

And finally (for today at least - hope to pop back in at some point over the next few days)....

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

This thread has been a lifeline for me this year. You are all such fantastic, brave, caring, funny, open-minded women, and I feel very lucky to have found you. Thanks for all your support through the good and bad times; it's meant so much to me.

Now, LET'S ALL GET PREGNANT IN 2005!

hester · 24/12/2004 09:19

PS. I should add that the clinic i was attending was an STD clinic, so chlamydia rates were bound to be higher than in the population at large. I wouldn't want anyone to think I'm suggesting that 70% of all women have chlamydia!

hester · 24/12/2004 09:17

Tania, so glad you and dh are talking. I understand the trust issues, but remember that the greatest gift you can give the child you are going to have - as well as your already-existing and much loved child - is to work through this together and come out stronger.

Chlamydia is horrific. It is one of the main causes of infertility today, and SO MANY women are in your position. When I was diagnosed I was told that over 70% of the women who attended that clinic had it and didn't know (i.e. they were attending for something else). It is an absolute epidemic among young women in the UK, and I'd guess in Australia too. Because it is often symptomless, it can have years to do its work (women classically pick it up in their teens/early twenties, then only get it diagnosed when they are struggling to conceive, 10-15 years later). I cannot believe how lucky I was to escape without tubal damage, and I think every young women should be screened for it.

You have been really unlucky but fortunately modern medicine has a really effective solution for it - IVF. The success rates for women in your position are really good. The fact that you have already conceived through very damaged tubes shows you must have great underlying fertility. This is a bad time for you but I just know you will be pg very quickly. I'd be prepared to bet a large amount of money that by next christmas you will either have a baby in your arms or you'll be waddling around that christmas tree!

Take care, Tan, and have a good christmas. I'll be thinking of you. Hugs.

Tania2 · 24/12/2004 09:04

Thanks girls,
Had a heart to heart with dh and i just have to trust that one of us has picked it up b4 we were together. We are still in shock that this could do so much damage to my tubes. just really pissed off that i didnt pick it up earlier and we wouldnt be having to do ivf. never mind its xmas eve and we are getting ready to go have a look at the xmas lights then when ds is in bed dh has to put together ds's new bike....how cute always wanted to do the new bike thing on chrismas morning with MY family. ohh it just makes you all warm and fuzzy inside.
Wishing you all a very merry christmas and a new year full of BFP from everyone.
Love you all and thank you so much for all the love and support.
Big kisses and hugs
lol tan

Twiga · 24/12/2004 08:51

Morning!

Tania {{{{hugs}}}} sorry about test results, hope you are feeling better about things today, lol x

Canadianmom, has af started properly now or are things still up in the air? Hope you're not driving yourself too mad! I'm not really brave waiting, it's just that last time I was pg I got a bfn the day I was due (oddly enough was a weds then as well) and didn't get the poitive until three days later (the saturday). Really not sure either way as have been ill and also although I thought cycle had settled down, I guess I could be having another odd month.

Hope todays preparations aren't too mad for everyone and you have a peaceful Christmas eve, lol x

jeddah · 24/12/2004 08:40

Good morning girlies!

Tan........please dont beat yourself up with this honey, I know you feel like you are the only ones going through this, but millions of couples have been and continue to be, going through this!

The only solution is to talk to your dh...be careful though as pointing the finger at him when he may well be innocent will really upset him! and you.

Clymidia is a completely symptomless infection and you can have it for many years without knowing ..you could have picked it up or your dh could have picked it up before you guys met.

Life is a strange one.... you just never know what is around the corner!.....I must say the receptionist is a silly bitch....and what are receptionists doing reading out results on the phone anyway!

Try and keep calm honey, you have a lovely dh that adores you and together be strong for eachother and you will come through alright.

Tania2 · 24/12/2004 02:37

Thank you girls.
Hester you really have a way with words.
No i know iam not the only partner that dh has ever had and he is not my only partner.
By chance if it is me than i got it from this guy i was seeing just b4 i meet dh the other 2 partners i had were virgins If it was from dh then it wouldnt suprise me if he got it from any of his past girlfriends as they all did the dirty on him
they say that sex can be painful when you have this and i admit when looking back sex was never painful b4 dh then not long after seeing dh sex did get painful but i just put this down to the endo. so it is possible that i may have got it from my last partner. it will be interesting to see if after taking these tables that dr has given us if sex is better for me then. I just keep thinking thou that dh has done the dirty on me.....i have very bad trust issues. dont trust men at all they all think with their dicks. sad arnt i

Colinsawmommykissingsantaclaus · 24/12/2004 01:41

Tania-- I am up for the next 4 hours or so, but will be popping in and out getting dinner, making the house ready for x-mas, etc. Will be looking for you in case you want to talk, just don't know when I'll be on. Thinking about you.

hester · 24/12/2004 01:29

Tania, I really must go to bed now, but will log in when I wake up to check on how you're doing. Hope you and dh are talking and things are feeling better.

Much love to you tonight.

(Colinsmommy, you should be going to bed too!)

Colinsawmommykissingsantaclaus · 24/12/2004 01:24

Oh, Tania, I'm so sorry, hon, I don't know what to say. As always, Hester has such a beautiful post, and I can't word it any better. Lots of (((((hugs)))))) from me.

hester · 24/12/2004 01:17

Tania, my love, I was so sorry when I read your post. What a horrible shock for you after having been given the all-clear.

Can I just ask one question? Are you and your dp each other's 'first'? Because if you had always believed that he has not slept with anyone other than you, then this must be a terrible shock for you and you and he will need to be some serious talking. But if he has had partners other than you, before you two got together, I really don't think you should doubt him just on this evidence. It is entirely possible he had chlamydia for years and truly didn't know anything about it. If you have had other sexual partners, the same is true of you. (Remember: I had it for years and had no idea whatsoever.)

Have you talked to your dh? What does he say?

Oh my love, I'm sorry you are going through this.

xxxxx

Canadianmom · 23/12/2004 23:51

YEAH TWIGA! I am so looking forward to reading about your BFP! You are a brave woman for waiting until Christmas day. I am praying that it will be the best Christmas gift ever!

FastAsleep: Keep your eyes open to watch for that O! Hope you have recovered from your wild night.

Tania: I am glad that your appt went much better and that your dh is keen to try the IVF. Very exciting proposition!

RD: I couldn't agree with you more about AF being a witch! See rant below (if you dare). Hope she arrives soon so that you can get on with the ttc.

Hester: thanks for thinking of me. I am sending extra strong babydust your way (too much of it here as I have done the pg thing 6 times in the last 8 years!)

Welcome Dreams.

RANT TO FOLLOW: Sorry.

ARGH! I love being a woman--NOT. After waiting for AF and thinking that the sooner she arrives the sooner I can get back to charting and ttc, I threw myself into a giant head game yesterday. I knew that it was next to impossible for me to be pg (because dh has only bee in town for 12 days and I was well past mid-cycle and not even 100% certain that I have ov. at all since the miscarriage) but then instead of having a proper af I was just spotty yesterday and then nothing from 4:00pm until just now (3:30 pm in this part of the world). I was starting to wonder if for some wild miraculous reason this was implantation bleeding. I've done my own head in. I had 3 normal cycles of 29-31 days and now this last one was 39 days for no obvious reason. Sorry for the rant but nowhere else to vent. Everyone here would think that I am completely mad for even considering the possibility.
OK. I feel better now.
Merry Merry Christmas everyone. (especially those that I have not left a message for). May you all have BFPs in 2005 and healthy babies nine months later!

Tania2 · 23/12/2004 23:37

Thats ok i forgive you.
Is anyone there really need someone to talk too.
Just had phone call from my gp with the test results of the chlymida test. IT IS POSITIVE FOR CHLYMIDA
His receptionist was reading the wrong test she didnt receive this test because dr hadnt received them yet and she was reading my pap smear results.
Now dh and i have to have tablets for 2 weeks to clear us up.
Now i am doubting dh again
cant stop crying

FastAsleepInAManger · 23/12/2004 22:46
