Ah thanks @worldwidetravel2017 . I did not know that. Wasn't the case when we were ttc the first time.
Do you know if that's also the case if you already had one child?

@VixFromThe6ix I am really sorry about what happened with your son and everything you had to go through 💔
Yes it does seem to be very different in each country.
My understanding is that they are unlikely to give you progesterone here. Although I have heard they are trialling it in certain areas.
Also I believe that because I already had a son, I would be unlikely to qualify for additional help if I ended up needing it to ttc our second. Unless I went private. Which in tge UK isn't really covered by even work scheme health insurances. So really expensive.
So I think if we do end up struggling to ttc our 2nd, I will probably just resign myself to not having a second.
My son is wonderful. I love him so much. And am so grateful to be his mum. So it's not the end of the world.
But I would love to give him a sibling if I can, for when me and my husband aren't around anymore. After losing my dad, I know how important that can be.

Pregnancy loss review - was july this year

In the uk you can get progesterone when bleeding after just one miscarriage now

@FigandHoney here if you're over 35 and had two MCs or have been trying over 6mos you can ask for help from fertility clinic. They run all the tests, bloods, ultrasounds, etc. Then they base next steps off of that if you need some fertility drugs they give you and watch you keep trying while simultaneously putting you on the IVF waiting list (if that's what you're after).
In my case now I thankfully haven't had a Mc since my son but because of my age and my history I contacted the clinic and basically said, I need your help we are trying again. So we went through all the tests again but this time issue was my husband. At which point we decided to start doing IUI. I'm grateful we were seen shortly after we contacted the clinic again. Maybe because we were previous patients as a friend of mine wanted to get an appointment to my doctor and she was told it's like a 4-5mos wait. So they went with a private clinic instead.
It's different in every country I'm sure, I'm always curious how things work because when I read on these forums sometimes I just wonder why don't you do this or that...but then I learn it's because the process is totally different. One good example was how easy I got progesterone and how some girls couldn't get it and their doctors won't give it to them. Just different.

@VixFromThe6ix Bloating sounds promising. As does similar symptoms as in your previous pregnancy!
I really hope everything continues to progress nicely for you.

In terms of getting extra help in the UK I have no idea. They don't really do blood tests as standard or see you before 8 weeks (If I remember correctly).
When we were struggling to conceive after a year and a bit, I went to the GP and told them just that. And they sent me for an ultrasound and blood tests. But they generally came back fine, so they just suggested we continue trying. So really not sure

VixFromThe6ix · 15/10/2023 21:20

@FigandHoney hi hon, I'm ok. Still waiting for that ultrasound. Just been super bloated which was a symptom with my son too. Hopefully this is good news.
I think not testing till AF arrives absolutely stops from catching a chemical. Chemicals are supposed to so early on that most won't even know it happened. For us we need to have regular MC to qualify for the help. What happens if you go in and claim you've had three CM? Is that enough or do they need proof?

@SnookyPook I hope you’re ok and that it wasn’t a CP. good idea to try the Clearblue digital in the next day or two and really hope it all works out for you ❤️

@FigandHoney I’m glad you're ok. Lots of things can upset your cycle and stress can definitely make it lighter. Sorry to hear that AF is probably arriving/here.

Welcome back @JustTrying1 I agree with @VixFromThe6ix - so good to take some time out and chill/enjoy it! It seems a common theme that the less you force it the more likely you are to conceive so think I need to take a leaf out of your book and just have sex a few times around the fertility window and not overthink it this month💕

FigandHoney · 15/10/2023 21:01

@VixFromThe6ix How are you feeling?

Still no full AF yet. But I am still spotting on and off. So I guess FF probably got my ovulation day wrong my one day and full AF will be here by tomorrow.
I really wish I didn't spot. Last time we were ttc it made me worried a potential embryo wouldn't get the ideal chance to implant. I am trying to reassure myself that I did manage to get pregnant in the end. But it does make me anxious.

I also have smthg else on my mind. I try not to test before AF. But could that mean missing potential CPs. I know that if you have had 3, you might need more help

VixFromThe6ix · 15/10/2023 20:38

@JustTrying1 welcome back!! Hope you had a lovely month off tracking!! Please don't be hard on yourself thinking you lost month.... No,you just took a different approach and that's perfectly ok. My friend had a hard time getting pregnant for a while... Just nothing worked. They went on vacation and she just allowed herself to relax and be in the moment. Guess what, they got pregnant on that vacation. We put ourselves under so much pressure and stress with tracking and timing sex and anticipating during TWW, we forget that stress itself could be what's preventing us from conceiving. So I think you did yourself a solid. Whether it worked or not, let time tell, but don't feel like you wasted it. Sending you the most positive thoughts ❤️

@RoseH36 hi love, sorry for the late post. I'm sorry you had to come to that decision. I do want to say don't give up, keep going, etc but sometimes a decision has to be made for your own mental health. This TTC journey is tough and I absolutely hate that all of you wonderful women are going through this hard time. I hope you're doing ok and I wish you absolute best. I'll definitely miss seeing you on here.

@SnookyPook have your lines been progressing at all or nothing? How many dpo would you be? Is it possible to get two blood tests scheduled couple days apart? I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope so much that everything turns out to be fine for youm

@MrsBP15 hi, hope you're doing ok. Sometimes people express their excitement without taking into account what someone else might be going through. And we can be happy for them. For some reason this is their journey and yours is different. Doesn't mean that one day soon you won't be the one sharing the happy news. Just take it in, take a deep breath and keep going. You got this ❤️

I'll be honest Im not getting my hopes up this month. I think because I've neglected to even take my tablets I feel like I've just lost myself a month. We DTD when we could though so there is still that chance.... Even if I don't feel like I deserve it 😂

Everything (apart from the legs) crossed for us all 🤞

H0pefull · 15/10/2023 19:50

@JustTrying1 hopefully it’s still just early for you, you never know! I agree, the support is so valuable and makes you feel like you’re not alone.

thank you ❤️so true about not beating yourself up, that’s why I took a few weeks off myself after the CP because it was getting that way. picked myself back up and we will see what this month brings!

JustTrying1 · 15/10/2023 19:37

Hey @H0pefull im glad to be back on here to be honest. I think closing myself off from it all actually made me appreciate everything even more - the tracking / understanding my cycles but most of all everyone on here and the support! I literally dropped everything TTC for a month including taking my tablets.
I'll be honest I've already tested! Because last cycle was 22 days and I'm now CD23 I figured I'd have a go... BFN as expected though - I don't think this is the month simply because I don't even know if / when I ovulated nor if we DTD at the right time (DH has been ill).

Really sorry to read about your month. Hopefully you are taking it easy on yourself. It's incredibly difficult and if there's anything I've learnt TTC this time and last time - you can't beat yourself up about it, for your own mental health sake. .... I say that yet I'm just as guilty for it...!!

@VixFromThe6ix I am so happy for you! I've just caught up and reading your journey from waiting for your HcG levels to go down for them to increase again genuinely had me itching to read your follow up posts! 🥰

@SnookyPook congratulations on your BFP. Really hope this is a sticky for you ❤️

I can see people are talking vitamins / supplements. I'm (now back) taking Conceive plus and I'm also prescribed 5mg folic acid as my levels were low on last bloods. I'm paranoid to hell about taking more in fear them I'm taking too much, but is there anything else I could / should take to increase my folate levels?

happytobemrsg · 15/10/2023 19:32

@FigandHoney everything else I’ve felt this TWW like cramps can be my mind playing tricks on me so it was kinda nice to get something someone else can see too! I don’t remember blue veins with my other pregnancies though so it could just be an exciting new AF symptom.

I completely understand @SnookyPook I had a CP between my 2 DS & I’m acutely aware that taking lots of early tests might not give me the reassurance I need. I tested 3 days late with my 2nd DS (I hadn’t been keeping track) with a lovely strong line. That’s the dream!

H0pefull · 15/10/2023 19:18

@RoseH36 sending you so much love & the biggest hug, and a huge well done for doing what is best for you, though it doesn’t make it any easier 🤍

welcome back @JustTrying1 ☺️ glad you have felt more chilled this month to start with, fingers crossed for you! Do you have an idea of when you might test or just wait for AF?

so sorry you think it’s CP @SnookyPook 😔 it’s heartbreaking. we are here if you need us xx

hope everyone in the TWW is doing okay, fingers crossed for you all 🥰

not much to report over here, I think I have ovulated at some point over the weekend, but my OPKs have been a bit all over the place so I’m not 100% sure..so heading into the TWW uncertain but hopeful!!

JustTrying1 · 15/10/2023 17:40

Evening ladies!
Sorry I have been MIA. After AF came I went on a bit of a downer about TTC (questioning whether to etc.) And decided to give myself a few weeks off MN, tracking and everything. I've literally not done OPKs or anything! While it's been nice to not think about it, it's also made me almost forget a bit too much and now I find myself on CD23, apparently late according to Premom app (it only knows of the one very short cycles though) and I have no idea when I ovulated. So the month of no stressing and tracking has actually backfired because I'm in limbo 🫣

I'm back here now and I'm off to go and catch up!!

FigandHoney · 15/10/2023 16:30

@SnookyPook I am so sorry you think it's another CP. Have you given it two days between each test? Also the intensity of the line can vary depending on how long you held your pee and time of day. I think the fact you are still testing positive is a good sign?

@happytobemrsg Everything you are describing sounds super hopeful. Especially the blue veins. I have read of that being a common symptom previously

@Cressie2 thanks for checking on me. Just after writing my last update I thought AF had fully arrived. Because the spotting got a bit more intense. But now it's stopped again.
But I think it's just AF coming in slowly and gradually like last cycle.

It's so weird ever since I had my son, I would wake up drenched in blood in the morning. Sorry tmi. But since we started ttc again, I have started this pattern of gradually increasing spotting. Which is what I had when we were ttc last time. I swear ttc or the sperm or maybe the stress of ut somehow messes with my cycle.

SnookyPook · 15/10/2023 15:55

@happytobemrsg thanks - I've bought a digital weeks but not tried it yet. Last month when I had the CP I did the same one and it came back 'not pregnant' so I didn't want to waste it if this is another CP. I'll try it in a couple of days if nothing has changed...

Cressie2 · 15/10/2023 15:12

How’re you getting on @FigandHoney?

That sounds super promising @happytobemrsg

@MrsBP15 I hope you had a fab time at your Godson’s Christening today. The wedding I was at yesterday was so beautiful and fun to dance the night away. Sometimes it’s what you need. @worldwidetravel2017 what a day for the beach!

I’m going to try the SMEP this month and chill. Last month I was so clinical and obsessive about it. Going to have fun this month and see what happens 🤞🏻

Wishing all you ladies a wonderful weekend ☀️

Angelsrose · 15/10/2023 13:21

@MrsBP15 I think that is a little insensitive of your friend. Not sure why she had to say they haven't really tried? If it's not an accident then there has been some effort. Keep positive and don't let it get to you. Sending love and baby dust.

happytobemrsg · 15/10/2023 11:23

@SnookyPook have you tried a digital test which shows the number of weeks? Might be more reassuring for you. I hope you enjoy the christening ❤️

happytobemrsg · 15/10/2023 11:22

Boobs are huge & heavy this morning which is pretty typical for this time in my cycle. But this morning I noticed huge blue veins over both breasts. So weird. Google says it might/might not be a sign (typical) but is definitely odd for me. AF due Wednesday/Thursday. It’s going to be a loooooong week.

SnookyPook · 15/10/2023 09:40

@MixedCouple fongers crossed for you that you ovulated later than you think!

@MrsBP15 eurgh why do people say things like that?!

@FigandHoney fingers crossed... Hope you're wrong and AF keeps away!

I'm feeling quite wobbly this morning. My tests don't seem to have really progressed again so I think it may be another early loss. Feeling very despondent just now. And got to go to a big family christening in a couple of hours for my adorable 3 month old niece 😌

FigandHoney · 15/10/2023 09:35

So my bbt increased more this morning and my rhr is still high.
But I am sure it's just my body teasing me and AF will arrive shortly
I am still having on and off pale pink and pale brown spotting. And that's how it started last cycle

FigandHoney · 15/10/2023 09:23

@MrsBP15 I am sorry. I think people who have never struggled ttc just don't understand how painful such words can be. Dies she know you are ttc?

@MixedCouple you might have ovulated 3 days later. But your chart is looking really good. It's exactly what happened with my last pregnancy. I tested the day before af was due and got a bfn. But af never came. So then started doubting when I ovulated. Got a bfp 4 days later.
