Anyone else 1dpo? Keep me company!

Hello! I'm 36 and TTC no. 2. This is cycle 6 but I only weaned from breastfeeding a couple of weeks ago so feeling cautiously optimistic as I think it was wreaking havoc with my hormones. Know it may well take a few months for hormones to regulate but remain hopeful!

Premom has me down as 1dpo. Anyone want to keep me company during what I suspect will be a painfully slow two weeks?! DTD 6 times in the last 8 days so i don't think I could've given it anymore if I'd tried - especially with a 2yo to look after! 😴

I'd be tempted to fib if I were you and say you weaned 3 months ago 🤷🏻‍♀️

I so would but unfortunately it's on my records that we discussed some medication (unrelated to TTC) I couldn't take while breastfeeding back in August! 🙄 Hopefully I can convince them to do it anyway so I don't have to shell out for private tests!

Thanks so much! I remember when I contacted the GP about my cycle taking ages to return, they didn't do a full hormone panel for the bloods as I was still breastfeeding. They said they only do that once it's been 3 months since you've weaned. So it does make a lot of sense it can just take a while to settle. I'm really hoping i can persuade them to do it now though, as it hasn't been 3 months since I stopped. If they say no, I'll be tempted to go private.

@secondtimelucky87 I honestly wasn't expecting AF to arrive today, but seeing as I've had a stressful few days this month (passport and wallet were stolen while abroad), I've reckon the stress has brought it on early! 24 days seems very short.

I think this month I'm going to try to cajole DH into BD'ing a bit more! We only managed 3 days over fertile week this cycle, so seems a good a place as any to start. Good luck with the Clearblue monitor this cycle! It'll be interesting to know if it helps ☺️

@secondtimelucky87 awwww so sorry to hear that 😔 it's so disappointing. Hope you get some support from the GP. Definitely could just be hormones needing a while longer to settle after weaning.

@secondtimelucky87 I hear vitamin C is good for lengthening the luteal phase!

I've been talking to I DH about how grateful I am for DD recently- we conceived her on that magic first try, so it's making me appreciate how long we could have waited for her! Also she slept through until 5:30am for the first time in weeks, so I feel like a new woman 😂

Yes I read that too so went to Boots for 500mg Vitamin C to add to my prenatal. That takes me up to two Proceive, one vitamin C, one fish oil and one iron tablet. I'd rattle if you shook me 🤣

No way, I can't believe we're cycle twins again!! Nice to have someone to share it with though. Will you do anything different next cycle? I always like to try one new thing to feel like I'm doing something - even though I'm sure lots of it is nonsense 🤣

I spent a fortune on the Clearblue Fertility Monitor last cycle and the sticks that go with it last month but it arrived too late so I guess i should use it this month. Only thing is I've read that for the first cycle it's mostly getting to know you so can give you a string of highs. It's all a bit overwhelming between that, the temping and OPKs too but I'm also too impatient to leave it all to chance 🙈

Definitely good to be grateful for our little ones. I remember feeling like I'd never ever fall pregnant with her so don't want to lose sight of how lucky i am ❤️🥹

I think AF's just reared her head two whole days early. @secondtimelucky87 just copying you it seems 😂

@secondtimelucky87 Aw lovely, I'm so sorry. Best of luck next cycle, get something to treat yourself today. I hope the GP is helpful ❤️

AF is due in two days for me, didn't bother testing this morning due to low temps. I'm sure I'll be keeping you company next cycle 👍

Yes hopefully GP will be helpful! I'm hoping it's a case of hormones needing a bit more time to settle after stopping BF.

My luteal phase seems to be stuck at 11 days too, which is the very lower end of normal. So I might research how I can lengthen it, just in case that impacts things.

Good idea to do something nice for myself. You too! Also want to make sure I take a moment to stop and appreciate the little one I already have here. I've been so caught up in all this TTC malarkey I don't want to lose sight of how lucky I am to have her ❤️

Well ladies, I'm out this month. Aunt Flo arrived at 4:45am. I'll get in touch with GP tomorrow to ask for bloods and SA to be booked in.

Pretty gutted even though I know the odds are so tiny every month. Many because I weaned, confirmed ovulation properly and did SMEP I'd allowed myself to be that bit more hopeful.

We go again next cycle! I'm tempted not to bother with all the tracking and just try to convince hubby to DTD every 2 days.

Would be great to keep this thread going though. Definitely helped to feel less alone! Baby dust to everyone else waiting to test! ❤️

@Monkeymonkeymoo HUGE congratulations 🥺😁🥺amazing news. How many dpo are you?

I am sooooo tempted to test but I think I'm only about 9dpo so it's far too early. Feel very hormonal, emotional and crampy but that could equally be period on its way.

Daniki · 30/09/2023 10:40

@Monkeymonkeymoo definitely see something! Digitalis aren't as sensitive so wouldn't worry about that 😁

secondtimelucky87 · 30/09/2023 09:22

I'm sure it doesn't mean anything but I've noticed I've felt distinctly less PMS-y this cycle which is odd. Felt a little irritated some days but I'm usually a bit of an emotional wreck leading up to my period and I'm due tomorrow. Not normal for me. 🤔

etaketak1991 · 30/09/2023 07:00

@secondtimelucky87 I'm not due on for another 3 days so we may go finally out of sync 😂 Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us though, it's not over until it's over!

etaketak1991 · 30/09/2023 06:15

@Monkeymonkeymoo Oh I see something!! How exciting! 🤞

I don't think there's any coming back from this drop in BBT this morning 😂 Onto the next cycle, I think. Learned some things this month so not a total loss.

I'm so sorry lovely. Fingers crossed for the next cycle. I imagine I'll be right there with you as my temps have really evened out. Period is due tomorrow so I think I'll get a big dip then.

@Monkeymonkeymoo Everything I've read says digitals take a lot longer to come up positive! So I wouldn't worry about that ☺️

Monkeymonkeymoo · 30/09/2023 06:26

I haven’t even told DH yet, I’m not sure he’ll see anything and the digital was negative. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 for a clearer positive later.
How are you doing?

Although I have just done a test (toddler woke up at 3am, I figured I might as well do it while I was up) and I think I might see the faintest hint of something.
What do you think (feel free to tell me that I’m losing my mind and there’s nothing there- I’d prefer not to get my hopes up if I’m just seeing phantom lines!)

I definitely see something!! Saw it straight away and didn't even need to squint!!! Keep us posted 🤞🤞🤞

Yeah I can see where they're coming from really with the added pressure of having to...err...perform! We'd done 5 times in 8 days when I suggested I think we needed one final push after peak and he looked crestfallen. 🤣 Absolutely no offence was taken though as tbh I felt exactly the same! No idea how anyone manages every other day throughout cycle.

Yeah, the scheduled sex wasn’t ideal (especially with other kids who don’t really understand that we need a few minutes alone without them shouting for us, fighting or banging on the door). I also made the mistake of wanting to do it morning and evening during my fertile window ‘just in case’.
On the last day I informed DH that there was still a bit of fertile cervical mucus and so it was worth a final shot. He declined and carried on eating his breakfast 😂
