Anyone else 1dpo? Keep me company!

Hello! I'm 36 and TTC no. 2. This is cycle 6 but I only weaned from breastfeeding a couple of weeks ago so feeling cautiously optimistic as I think it was wreaking havoc with my hormones. Know it may well take a few months for hormones to regulate but remain hopeful!

Premom has me down as 1dpo. Anyone want to keep me company during what I suspect will be a painfully slow two weeks?! DTD 6 times in the last 8 days so i don't think I could've given it anymore if I'd tried - especially with a 2yo to look after! 😴

@secondtimelucky87 Hmm curious! Bodies are strange, aren't they? It'll be interesting to see how it matches up in a few days.

I got some EWCM yesterday but I've also had a fever for two days and up all night coughing last night 😂 DH says he doesn't mind doing AI this month seeing as I'm so poorly so actually might try that?

Oh no! Is this a new illness or still lingering from your last one? Hope you feel better soon.

Sounds like a good idea re the AI if you feel so poorly! I really CBA today but will try to summon up the enthusiasm. 🤣

Yeah I always seem to start getting EWCM super early too like CD7.

@secondtimelucky87 is this your first time using the monitor? Wondering if I should bother with LH strips this month being on letrozole will it give funny readings!?

Well my CBFM gave me a high today and said I've had an estrogen rise so despite negative LH test and low temp, it's go time again for another marathon. Can you tell how enthusiastic I am? 🫠🤣🙈 Been awake since 3am this morning so it's gonna be an effort to find the energy later. Will be interesting to see if it gives me any peaks this cycle and if they line up with LH tests.

How are you all?

@secondtimelucky87 That's great news! You must feel relieved. What a quick turnaround time too!

secondtimelucky87 · 07/10/2023 12:21

Hi ladies, hope you're all well. Had a really positive appointment with GP. She was lovely. Was lucky enough to have all my bloods done this morning and have been referred for scan too, which hopefully won't be needed. Will get bloods results in a week so next steps (if any) will follow from there. She also agreed it makes no sense for me to have investigations but not my husband so will try to put him on the waiting list for SA.

@secondtimelucky87 great about your app! I think it reduces the pressure and brings a bit of positivity! 🙌

@secondtimelucky87 That's good that you've got an appointment so quickly! Good luck for today and tomorrow 🤞

@secondtimelucky87 Yes, on top of a Tesco pregnancy support multivitamin and vitamin d with calcium. My cycles have been a bit weird recently so hoping it'll help settle them. I get what you mean about rattling 😂 When do you start using the Clearblue monitor?

@Daniki Hope things go well this cycle for you 🤞🤞🤞

I hope they help! Heard really good things about Coq10 which they contain.

You start using the CBFM on CD6 which is tomorrow for me so we'll see. I'm still going to temp and do LH sticks this month while it gets to know my cycle so it's going to be a lot of tracking but feels like it's worth a go! Seems to do the job for a lot of people. Fingers crossed! My period was really manageable this month too which is good. Got my doctors appointment Sat morning so we'll see what comes out of that. Feeling positive about the next cycle. Onwards! 😊

First time I can say I'm glad AF has arrived today because now I can start my letrozole tomorrow! It's all go for me this month so hopefully it all works for this cycle 🤞🏻

Has anyone here had a HSG test before? Can you TTC in the same cycle?

Ah that's great news! Keeping everything crossed it's your month!

@secondtimelucky87 Oh yeah I'm fine! It's because all of my Google searches from about 8dpo onwards are always "X early pregnancy symptom" 😂 so clearly Google thinks I'm pregnant. It's shitty but I guess that's targeted ads for you. I've started seeing the home insemination kits too after reading a thread on here out of curiosity!

My temp still hasn't dropped below cover line but I've got one of the colds going around atm so guessing that's why. Might have to delete some of the entries later! I've also bought the Conceive plus ovulation support vitamins so fingers crossed they help. How are we all doing?

Are you taking those on top of a pre-natal? I'll have to look them up! I'm taking Proceive, omega 3, extra vitamin C and iron. Already feel like I'm rattling 🤣

Hope you're feeling a bit better! So many viruses going around.

I'm OK thanks. Work insanely busy atm so mind has been kept occupied at least! Got a particularly busy one during fertile week so it's going to be an effort finding any energy! Not sure what the game plan is this month. I've got the Clearblue Fertility Monitor ready to use but wonder if it's going to be too much using that, temping AND doing LH tests. Really like having the premom chart for a visual though.

@Bey I'm sorry lovely, hoping next cycle is the lucky one ❤️

Does anyone else constantly get targeted ads assuming you're pregnant? I'm just having a down day I guess but the Argos "congratulations, you're expecting!" advert on Instagram got to me a bit this morning.

Oh that's rubbish! Hope you're OK.

All my targeted ads are about infertility, IVF and the occasional home insemination kit! Definitely catering to the over 35 market...

@secondtimelucky87 So is that a waiting list for a waiting list? Jeez. I think you can get sperm count kits quite cheaply, but obviously there's a lot more to the analysis than that. Good luck with your appointment at the end of the week, let us know how you get on ☺️

@Daniki Fingers crossed for your upcoming cycle! Hope AF doesn't leave you waiting too long 🤞

Yup! A waiting list for a waiting list... 🙈

GP mentioned the cheaper kits but like you say, they don't tell you everything you need to know. Bless him though, he's trying to do all he can, including eating a banana this morning even though he hates them as he's heard they're good for the swimmers. 🤣 Apparently lack of Vitamin D and high stress are both bad for male fertility and he has a stressful job working from home. But you control what you can!

Yes will definitely update after appointment! Feels a positive step 😊

@secondtimelucky87 that's annoying! I found that too, they do all the investigations with the woman and then if all clear then they look at the man 🫣 I went and bought vit C, selenium and more prenatals to boost my progesterone! Just waiting on AF to start, 12dpo and still spotting away. I can start letrozole this cycle so I'm dying for it to just start so I can wish the month away 😂

So unfair and illogical isn't it! It makes no sense and just feels like it's putting all the 'blame' on women!

I hope the extra supplements help! Suspect my progesterone is out of whack too with the short luteal phase so hoping GP agrees to bloods as keen to find out for sure.

Good news about the Letrozole too! Hope it does the trick for you 🤞

Hi ladies, hope you're all well?

I called the doctors today and made an appointment for the end of the week which feels like some progress. I'm really hoping they'll do bloods for me as I looked into the cost of doing them privately and....nope! Terrifyingly expensive.

I'm really annoyed though as my husband called to book sperm analysis but was pretty much fobbed off and told he'll be called when he'll be added to the waiting list! When fertility is literally 40/40 plus 20% unexplained, why isn't male fertility given the same priority? I can have all the investigations in the world but if our issues lie with my husband, it's all a bit pointless! He feels the same. Rant over sorry 🤣

CD2 today so gearing up for another marathon next week! Quite enjoying the brief break from all the crazy tracking for a few days at least.

I so would but unfortunately it's on my records that we discussed some medication (unrelated to TTC) I couldn't take while breastfeeding back in August! 🙄 Hopefully I can convince them to do it anyway so I don't have to shell out for private tests!

Agh bugger, hopefully you can convince them, hope you get somewhere with it soon x
