Hello! I'm 36 and TTC no. 2. This is cycle 6 but I only weaned from breastfeeding a couple of weeks ago so feeling cautiously optimistic as I think it was wreaking havoc with my hormones. Know it may well take a few months for hormones to regulate but remain hopeful!

Premom has me down as 1dpo. Anyone want to keep me company during what I suspect will be a painfully slow two weeks?! DTD 6 times in the last 8 days so i don't think I could've given it anymore if I'd tried - especially with a 2yo to look after! 😴

@secondtimelucky87 The autumn term is the WORST, but last half term wasn't so bad considering I had to take two weeks off haha. Dreading coming back and seeing how little the students did with the cover supervisors though 🙃 It gets easier after Christmas for me, only 7 weeks to go!

Are you 6dpo today too? I'm just attributing any changes so far to being ill/end of term haha.

I am! And still mind-bendingly exhausted, although that might be because we've had a week of particarly big toddler emotions here. 🫠 Otherwise no symptoms. What about you? I've had a bit of a dip (0.16C) from ovulation temp but that's about it. If this isn't the month I'm hoping my husband gets given an appointment soon for SA!

@etaketak1991 boots is so handy as they have the 3 for 2 on all supplements (well here in Ireland anyway but I'm sure England too!) I might throw in some coQ10 next cycle if I'm unlucky this one! Haha we are all synced it's great for testing 😂 x

etaketak1991 · 22/10/2023 09:57

@Daniki Oooooh are we all synced! That's handy! Best of luck for day 21 tests, I hope they give a useful result!

This month I'm taking:

  • Conceive plus (CoQ10, myo inositol and ginger)
  • Vitamin D
  • Sainsbury's pregnancy plus
  • Calcium with vitamin D

Next month I might add high dose vitamin C and B6 to the mix 🤪 Thanks for the Boots recommendation!

Daniki · 22/10/2023 09:21

@secondtimelucky87 I'm on those vitamin c aswell! With the added vitamin d? I take the soluble ones I try and avoid hard tablets at all costs because I have Crohn's disease and a stoma bag so most likely don't absorb fully!
@etaketak1991 Also 6dpo today! I try and not symptom spot as it's just made it more disappointing for me 😂 I get sore boobs every cycle and think that's it but then AF comes, I read it's also a symptom on low progesterone which I seem to have!
Going for the 21 day progesterone test again on Tuesday, hopefully good news 🙏

@secondtimelucky87 Oh hey, I'm a teacher too! I'm secondary, how about you? Hope you have some nice things planned for the days DD is at nursery! My DH is a teacher too, so we use them as date days 😂

Yeah that spike might have been your body fighting off the cold, by the looks of it! I've attached mine too, but there's no rhyme or reason this month 😂 Especially as I'm missing temps for a week.

I hope the vitamin C works for you, it's on my list to buy when they pay check comes in!

Edited

Oh no way! Yeah I'm secondary trained too but currently teaching a mixture of ks2 and 3! Nothing planned yet for the nursery days yet tbh. I'm most excited about the prospect of doing very little. It was SUCH a long half term. You?

5dpo and I've been absolutely shattered the last couple of days. Struggling to stay awake past 9pm!

I just bought the cheapest Boots own brand Vitamin C (500mg). I know what you mean though - all the supplements, OPKs and silly gadgets add up!!

@secondtimelucky87 I'm finally almost at the end of this infection, thankfully! My ribs still hurt when I walk at any speed but it's a massive improvement from what it was! I had a big temp dip today but my BBT is so weird this cycle I'm not reading anything into it 😂 Premom has estimated me at 3dpo, but honestly who knows! How is your temp looking today?

Sorry lovely - I missed this yesterday!

Ah I'm glad you're feeling better! I'm the same. Was a pretty short-lived cold. I did start taking an extra 500mg of vitamin c on top of all my other supplements this month (as heard it can help extend luteal phase) so maybe that helped?! Who knows?

I'm 4dpo today and also had a bit of a dip. Nothing much to read into just yet so it's yet another waiting game. I've chilled out about it all tbh recently. I just wonder how on earth we'll find the energy/enthusiasm for all the scheduled BD if this isn't the month either! We shall see. It's already started feeling like a bit of a chore sometimes...

It's half term and I'm a teacher so hoping to catch my breath a little (at least on the days my little darling is at nursery 🤣)!

@secondtimelucky87 Oh it's so normal at this age for them to be crazy. I think I do deep breaths at least twice every day 😂 Sounds like you're doing everything right though, just got to grit your teeth through it!

Hooray for the coverline and BBT spike! Could it be related to the higher LH reading? Hope it's not related to the cold. How are you feeling?

Oh yes, lots of deep breaths! 🤣

I'm OK thank you- just an annoying cold really so can't complain! How about you? Really confused by that huge BBT spike as I don't think I've ever recorded a temp over 37! Yeah could well be a link with those higher LH readings maybe. I guess time will tell?!

secondtimelucky87 · 18/10/2023 15:34

Hi ladies, I can massively relate to the toddlers being little handfuls! My LO has been having the most shocking meltdowns. I actually ended up searching the Mumsnet forums about it and apparently it's very normal for this age. Doesn't make it any easier though! Mine is properly on the floor, flailing away, screaming her head off for ages. We do the usual getting down on her level and trying to calm her down but yeah: it's hard! So you're not alone haha.

I also got a coverline this morning @etaketak1991 and my BBT spiked to over 37! Slightly worried it could be because I'm ill though, even though I don't have a fever. I hope not!!

@etaketak1991 god I'd be so confused with that but it's interesting! Did hear it was a reliable way of tracking tho 🙌

etaketak1991 · 18/10/2023 12:48

@Daniki Oh it's super confusing 😂 A cover line is a line that appears after recording three lower temps and three higher temps after ovulation. It's an algorithm that essentially confirms that you ovulated. Here's my chart last month for reference, the horizontal line across is the cover line ☺️

Daniki · 18/10/2023 12:34

@etaketak1991 what's a cover line? I don't temp so I find it all so confusing 😂

etaketak1991 · 18/10/2023 07:47

Guess who got a cover line this morning! 🙌 I mean, it's a whole 0.3°C higher than my last two months but I'll take it. At least I'll be able to confirm my usual pattern (drop at 9dpo) if nothing else this month 👍

etaketak1991 · 17/10/2023 11:01

@Daniki Aw I'm sorry to hear about your loss. That's given me a little hope though!

Yikes, that sounds tough. You think you're out of the woods and then they're very quick to humble you! I just keep telling myself DD isn't going to be crawling into our bed and kicking us for hours at 18 years old 🤪

Daniki · 17/10/2023 10:02

@etaketak1991 you never know! Last year I fell pregnant in July on the first cycle we started trying again as I had major surgery in April and we only dtd 4 times in that cycle, I had no clue when I was ovulating but if it was going by when I used to ovulate it was around 2 days after! Unfortunately lost it but shows anything can happen 😁 there was another thread on here that a woman fell pregnant the month she was sick and really wasn't expecting it!

Aw stop, my patience is wearing thin my 2.5 year old started sleeping through the night finally a few weeks ago and in the last 2 weeks we're back to multiple wake ups. I was up with him 4 times last night and now I have a creak in my neck, I could cry!! And him happy as Larry here 😂

etaketak1991 · 17/10/2023 09:54

@Daniki Sounds like a plan 👍 Can't wait until my preschooler turns 5 in two years, I'm so done with this threenager 🤪

Best of luck to the two of you in the TWW! I've started tracking my temps again just for consistency's sake. Technically I'm in with a chance, but I think we had to stop too far from ovulation to be counting myself properly in. You never know though 🙃

Daniki · 17/10/2023 08:41

@secondtimelucky87 oh wow! Hopefully levelling out for ya! Looks like i ovulated yest I peaked on Sunday! Which is great cuz my toddler is really pushing the boundaries this month and I'm too tired to dtd but we done the last 3 nights and will go tonight and tomorrow to be safe 😖😂

etaketak1991 · 17/10/2023 08:31

@secondtimelucky87 Oh wow, I forgot how you could take proper medicine while breastfeeding! That must be a relief. Hope you're feeling better soon.

That chart is looking good to me! And it's really positive news about all those highs on your OPKs, fingers crossed it helps 🤞

@secondtimelucky87 Ooh thank you, I've been considering those as I use premom to track everything. Fingers crossed the high result is a good sign! 🤞

@Daniki Hmm, maybe it is just me then! I did my last one out of curiosity just now and it rated it as 0.57, so I'm guessing I'm either just before or after peak. Either way, I'm glad it looks like my cycle might be a bit longer this time round, 24 days last time was super short for me!

They're great and really good value I think!

I'm ill too now but at least now I've stopped breastfeeding I can take the proper medicine!

Waiting game now. Still not a great chart but I guess I could still get a coverline in next few days. Hopefully i did ovulate. Interesting though how many days of highs I've had on my LH tests this month. Never had so many in a row so I'm taking that as a good sign my hormones at least are balancing out.
